[SPOILERS FOR SEASON 7, EPISODE 5]

I think most of us agree that it'd be nice to have more episodes exploring Wendy's character.

I'm on another rewatch and thought of some changes in the episode "Fake Bacon and a Plan to Kill Us All" (S07E05) that would make it a start for more Wendy-focused episodes from that point on:

In the original plot, Mary dies during a meeting and we see Wendy feeling very guilty about not being able to prevent it or be more helpful, since she's a nurse; it's also said that she's feeling just like Mary 'cause no one really knows and/or pays attention to her, as if she has no true friends and no one that cares for her.

My idea is that all of this would lead to Wendy disappearing for a few days, the girls only noticing it after some time (instead of Bonnie going to her apartment on the following day) and then they find her very drunk and losing her job.

I think it'd be a very interesting plotline to explore more of Wendy's background and character development.

What do you all think? Do you have ideas for changes in other plotlines that could be interesting for developing her character?

I feel like they definitely could have given us ONE MORE season. I thought it was fine without Christy. One more season could have tied up all the loose ends. Not left us in the dark about Adam. Maybe give Tammy a bf (that limo driver, Hello!). Maybe we see Sophia (Marjorie's Granddaughter) in one more episode and get to enjoy Marjories new dynamic with her son. And maybe Jill and Andy have their baby in one of the last episodes. Maybe even a Christy appearance in one of the last episodes, and we learn how law school is going. And of course, Wendy, my sleeper favorite lol, reveals her hidden mob ties. But if I know what's good for me, I'll never mention that side of her fanily again. 😬 🤣

Anyway. Maybe they'll do a comeback and do a season or two, like will and grace did as somebody stated earlier. Mom fans can only hope. 🤷🏾‍♀️

We all know new casting late in a TV show's life are often either a Cousin Oliver situation in a desperate attempt to recapture the magic of the early seasons or a famous face slotted in to try and revitalize the ratings.

I felt Tammy was neither.

Yes Kristen Johnston was a name, but she was hardly Robert Downey Jr level famous either.

What she was however was a very funny actress who had amazing chemistry with the rest of the cast and whose character offered a new perspective that hadn't been done before. I mean plenty of the ladies had been to the big house, but none of them where fresh out of the slammer either, readjusting to modern life Kimmy Schmidt style.

Maybe I just adore Kristen in everything she is in, but I honestly felt Tammy was a breath of fresh air the show benefited from. The internet tells me Tammy was suppose to be a one-off character, so I can understand how The Powers that Be seeing her perform in the show really wanted her back!

Wendy would have been a fantastic replacement for Christy. Bonney treated Wendy the same way she treated Christy when she was young. Also, Wendy had so much baggage to unpack: 2 moms, Mensa, "Orlando", Waste Management *wink* *wink*, etc.

I understand how it feels to be raised by alcoholics/ addicts. However, I feel like she was very self-centered throughout the whole show and ungrateful. Christy became a great and supportive sober mom well before she cut her off, then acted like Bonnie was just so much of a better role model than Christy, even calling her a “life preserver” in her podcast. When, in my opinion Bonnie was a worse mother-figure than Christy. (Don’t get me wrong, I love the character of Bonnie.)

Christy is my FAV character and her getting cut off is just not doing it for me. I watched the first two episodes and it just didnt feel right without her. This was 3 months ago. Now im thinking of continuing where I left off but am worried this feeling of Christy sadness will linger:( :(

I felt like the show was cancelled all of a sudden, and even Alison Jenny said that they found out about the cancellation while shooting, mid-season.

We have no idea what really happened to Christy, Roscoe, Violet, etc. There were so many characters that had potential to revive the sitcom. They could have even taken the entire show towards the Golden Girls route where we see the girls navigate their lives through sobriety and, well, life.

The AA group was way more interesting

Bonnie has a dark paisley blouse that I love and the gold bracelet Jill gives her at the Bistro are a couple of my favorites. Unfortunately, neither is on the site that I can tell. Ironically, a lot of Bonnie & Christy's clothes are from Nordstrom and not "that Old Navy".

random thought while watching today.. on the episode where violet has a podcast, christy says she's sponsoring 3 women. besides jill, who are the other 2 women? bonnie sponsors tammy, majorie sponsors wendy.. who are the other two? maybe outside the group of girls?

I'm watching Mom right now (the millionth rewatch lol), and I noticed that in the beginning of the character Mike hanging out with Adam in the bar, he talks about how he could've been a singer, but then he got his girlfriend pregnant and his career prospects changed (before immediately making Adam uncomfortable with his singing LOL). Then later, when Christy is struggling with her gambling addiction, he says, "my kids need new shoes" and she points out that he doesn't have any kids and he goes, "I need new shoes". What do you think happened there? We know later, Mike divorces his wife as mentioned in his dialogue, so we know his wife for sure exists, but I'm unsatisfied with the lack of info on his kids. Do they or do they not exist? It's driving me NUTS.

Was it poor writing or something happened to Mike's theoretical kids? Honestly, I wanna hear others' takes on this because it's bugged me for so long ever since I noticed it XD

(Also I marked this for spoilers since I mentioned Christy's gambling addiction since that is revealed in later seasons and new watchers may not be at that point in the show)

Season 5 episode 12 where Christy has car trouble. She's talking to Patrick about buying a car from Baxter & she says she hadn't slept with Baxter since he & Candace were engaged & corrects herself to say since they got married? What's your best guess on when it happened?

I decided to check the Roku channel for the first time in awhile and was thrilled to find Mom is there now. All 8 seasons. I guess Netflix doesn't have the exclusive on it anymore.

Hi I I'm not sure anyone else will find something so trivial, interesting but I found myself at stage 20 at Warner Bros Studios last week and lo and behold the checkerboard pattern from the women's rehab scenes was still painted on the floor lol.

The spirit of Mom lives on. 😎

I’m so let down by the finale of Mom, I get the idea. But the execution was not handled right in my eyes 💔. I GET wanting to have a mom and daughter come in that parallel Bonnie and Christy’s relationship. I GET giving Adam cancer because we all face challenges but even it just being introduced a one or even two episode before would’ve been better. This felt so haphazard to me.
(I watched this show during the summer sometimes passively doing a chore or some homework. But most of the time I was an engaged viewer. This show really tugged on my heartstrings and became a part of my daily routine for months. I’m going to miss it and grieve the finale I feel it deserved.)

I think Adam and Bonnie balanced each other out, but I always thought it was strange and not a good idea that Bonnie was with someone who’s as constantly drinking and doing drugs lol. it did not make sense to me.

when she cheated on Adam with the completely sober man… that was an interesting episode. I don’t condone cheating at all, but I do want to say that it would have been healthier or made more sense for her to be with someone sober too.. However, Adam completely embraces her lifestyle and even joined Al Anon to better understand her, and help himself and their relationship.

Also, maybe it’s because Bonnie likes edge and excitement - a little danger - and that’s how the writers chose to add that in lol. I just thought that was a little too dangerous for someone who is sober..

I understand that Christy wasn’t the best mom at first because of her addictions at the time, but I felt really bad for her when her daughter decided not to contact her anymore and made that podcast about her.

Violet could forgive her grandmother who arguably put Christy through worse than what Christy put Violet through (not that it was okay), but just ignored that. Christy also tried so hard to mend the relationship when she got sober. maybe a little too hard because violet was a brat sometimes lol but i also understand that her childhood was rough and if she needed space she had every right to take that space. So then again, Christy could have made better choices but the way they made jokes in the show it sounds like since she was exposed to that environment at such a young age, she ended up picking it up really young which wasn’t her fault when she was uoung if that’s the case

Idk maybe she will forgive Christy when she is around Christy’s age when Christy forgave her own mom lol.

Besides the beautiful big house where the Fisherman murders occurred (which I wish they would've shown more of, like the bedrooms upstairs), my favorite house in "Mom" is Jill's mansion. I wish they did more scenes there, and shown new and different parts of the house, like a hallway, her kitchen pantry, or a different bedroom, or even a dining room!! Does anyone else agree??

I just saw the episode where Bonnie and Christy moved into the beautiful house where the serial killer the Fisherman murdered the family. I was shocked when I saw that bloody fishermen hat and Coat in Marjorie's bedroom. But I got a really weird vibe from the store clerk, and it dawned on me that he could be the real Fisherman!! He really enjoyed telling Bonnie and Christy about the murders, he seemed to know every single detail about the murders, and he lived in the same neighborhood as the house!! Marjorie doesn't actually give off murder vibes to me, and she lived too far from the house where the murders happened, so she couldn't have been the Fisherman. Has anyone else thought about this??

When Christy and the family move into their new home (where Bonnie is the building manager) why do they keep mentioning Roscoe’s room is a closet when it’s clearly a bedroom? I could understand one throw away joke, but they mention it like 3-4 times. And it’s literally a full size room 😭 My theory is they were already trying to write Roscoe out of the show, but i wanna hear others opinions!

For someone who had lived such a badass, edge of your seat, reckless, toxic life as Christy Plunkett has, you would think she would be more sex positive and less scared and judgmental around sex. She was stripper and pole dancer for crying out loud. But countless times she proves her view of sex and sexuality is very vanilla.

- She runs away scared from the upstairs neighbor who is into puppy role playing.
- She has never explored sex with a woman. She has always been team penis.
- She feels phone sex is weird and creepy. Whereas Bonnie know phone sex can be beautiful
- She is scared of anal play. She prefers to avoid the topic all together
- She describes Bonnie and Adam’s sex noises as “slaughtering a goat”
- She feels Marjorie is too old to have a libido when it comes to her sex life during and after Victor
- She struggles to mutter the words “porn” or “hooker” when asking how Violet got so much cash
- She is creeped out by Wendy’s bisexual curiosity crush on Bonnie’s long legs
- She constantly shames Bonnie for the instances in the past when Bonnie went without underwear

I could go on and on. And I get Christy’s new found mortality high horse is part of the comedy. But it takes me out of the story everytime she gets offended by the characters who are comfortable with their sexuality.

I’m on season 8 episode 12 … it’s almost over I don’t wanna say good bye
