Hey everyone! I’m an older transfer student at Sac State; well, I'm in my 30s, and I’m still pretty new to the area, so I’m trying to put myself out there and meet more people.
Being a transfer student can feel a little awkward sometimes because it seems like a lot of people already have their friend groups, and as an older student, I sometimes feel like I’m in this weird in-between space. 😅 I’ve realized I’d really like to build more of a social circle here and have people to talk to, study with, grab coffee or food with, walk around campus with, or even check out campus events together.
I’m pretty easygoing and enjoy movies, reading, sports, exploring new places, grabbing coffee, and just having good conversations. I’m totally open to being friends with people of different ages too; you definitely don’t have to be another older student.
I’m not originally from the Sacramento area, so having a little more of a community here would honestly be really good for me. If anyone else is new, a transfer student, an older student, or just wants to meet some new people, feel free to comment or message me. Maybe a few of us could even get together on campus sometime. 🙂

Hi all! Im looking to take hybrid hrob 152 with professor Bagger. I read that the class is overall passable even though you dont go to class in person. Im just worried about missing some classes due to work but really need it.

I’ve always parked in PS3 for ease but my classes this semester are significantly closer to PS5 but I noticed that it said it was an Employee/Student parking area. Are students allowed to park in PS5 all day or only at certain times?

Hi! I have a nickname that is very different from my legal name. Is there a way to change my name in the system so that it will show up to professors ect as my nickname, so when I turn things in ect it isn't confusing? Obviously, without actually changing my legal name. Any advice would be great!

Personally, my first day here was incredible and I think my professors are amazing… except my stats professor, he didn’t sound like he wanted to be there today. I’m surprised how short most if my classes are, only 50 minutes meanwhile my classes at community college were all about 1hr+ each, some even 3 hours.

Looking for someone to take over my lease available any time after 9/21/2026. Co-ed 2 guys 1 girl as of right now rate is $1,200. Utilities and amenities included. Wifi also included, pool, gym as well as mail room and package room. Only about a 10minute walk to campus.

Did any commuters notice that students are crossing the crosswalk even tho the light is green? Was it just a coincidence for me that I had two instances where people didn't care that I was about to crash into them cuz the light was green for me? Did the crosswalk signal stop working or something?

I’m a student at CSUS and I’m also a licensed cosmetologist who just graduated in May. I’d like to perfect my craft with haircuts since I’m more of a color specialist at the moment. I had a last min cancellation this Sunday and it doesn’t look like I can fill that spot, so I may as well offer some of my peers haircuts! The salon I work at is a pretty close drive to Sac State. is there a way to delete or hide courses on canvas that aren’t classes?
For example I have three WPJ portfolio courses on there and I’ve already done it. As well as Arrive at the Hive, or new student orientation from last year :/
