General Discussion / Feedback Calibre users: I built a Quest e-reader that reads whatever you export (EPUB/MOBI/PDF/CBZ). Curious how you'd want it to talk to Calibre.
Solo dev and a Calibre user. HoverTome is an e-reader for the Quest — your own files, no account, offline. EPUB is first-class; MOBI and CBR auto-convert on import; PDF and CBZ too. 11 typefaces, margins/spacing, dark page, offline dictionary, chapters, bookmarks.
Right now the workflow is: export from Calibre, copy to the headset over USB (or download in the headset browser), tap Scan. It works, but I know this community would want better. Options I'm weighing:
- Calibre device plugin so the Quest shows up as a device and "Send to device" just works
- OPDS catalog support so you point HoverTome at calibre-server on your LAN
- Wireless device connection
