I shot my first band show this weekend. I got a lot of great shots but I noticed that a good bit of them came out like this one as an exam. I wasnt sure if it was something from the lighting (lots of flashing lights) or what. I used a Sony6400 with a FE 50mm f/1.8 Standard Prime Lens. Just looking to see if there was anything I could have changed to help this. I also havent done any editing (still really new to this)

ISO: Photo 1 was 80,000, photo 2 was 12,800, photo 3 was 80,000, photo 4 was *12,800

I included a couple of exams and then some shots that came out pretty good

As a student part-time event photographer, which is a side gig as a source of extra income, my camera being damaged like this really isn't favorable at the moment and I would highly appreciate any advice/comment on what I can do to fix this. Basically, I removed the camera from this bag a dedicated to keep it in and noticed those little curved pieces where the mirror is and I assume the lens wasn't mounted on properly and some pressure may have broken what those black pieces were. Also added some pics where I think those pieces were before not too sure. sorry my camera anatomy isn't too great I'm still learning. the lens basically won't mount on properly leaving that gap there and falls off if I don't hold on to it. I will take it to a nearby Nikon (it is a Nikon d7100) store but I'm afraid they will ask me to buy something new so I would rather get some solid advice here and understand fully before I go.

took it to the falls last month and suddenly it did not open again, decided to put it in rice to draw out water (removed the battery and memory card), now it has been sitting until I charged it just now, the light flashes for about a few minutes then turns off, tried it 2x

is there any way to save this? I've had it for years and I feel sad about losing it TT

So basically I bought a 40D 2 years ago, it broke. Okey so I bought a defective 40D hoping to repair. Funny enough, that one had only 300 shutters. It even smelled completely new after 19 years!!

The shutter motor was broken and I replaced it with that one I just had yk.

It worked fine no problems, but after something got inside the camera (don’t even ask me how) and the mirror was blocked, by the time i got it free, it stopped moving at all. Opened up the camera, looked inside, nothing. Everything spins. So before I tear it up completely I may have made a biiiiiiiig mistake by pulling the top up to quick and unplugging that grounding cable. This just mayyyyy has caused a 10000V short from the capacitor. It it juuuuuuust may errors with error 99😭

Can anyone help me here? I don’t have money I can’t just buy another or buy part. Man I don’t even have a lens.

I need your alls help now, this camera is worth more to me than anything else as it only lives with the soul of my beloved older 40D I used to shoot with. (15K pictures btw)

Update 1: fixed the error. It was a f-ed up daughter board.

Update 2: may I cry? Got to figure 076 in the canon document (page 106) and after that there is no more explanation for the rest of the mirror box. So I went in there blind, had 2 springs and 20 different stud flying at me. Anyone wanna knows anything or can help me?

I’ve recently hopped back into the world of photography after falling out for a little over a decade and I find myself looking for an all in one for concerts and everyday carry. I have an OM-5 from OM system with a few primes and kit zooms so I don’t need anything crazy powerful or modern.

Ultimately I want to keep it at 650 or under USD and mechanically sound.

I think I may have Gear Acquisition Syndrome at this point. 😂

I've been researching cameras for a long time and keep comparing specs, sensors, autofocus, batteries, codecs, firmware support, etc. I originally loved the X-S20, but eventually ruled it out because of concerns about autofocus, heating, controls, and its future/discontinuation rumours.

The R50 was ruled out mainly because of heating concerns, while the R10 didn't feel right ergonomically and I'm not particularly attracted to Canon's current APS-C ecosystem.

That leaves me with the Z50II vs A6700.

The Z50II is ₹36K cheaper and already seems more than capable for what I actually need. But the A6700 has IBIS, better battery life, higher resolution, stronger video capabilities and better autofocus, which makes me wonder if it's worth paying extra for something I intend to keep for 5–10 years.

My biggest question isn't really "which camera is better?" — obviously the A6700 is more capable.

It's:

Do I actually need to spend ₹1.4L, or am I just suffering from Gear Acquisition Syndrome?

I don't want to cheap out now and regret it later, but I also don't want to spend ₹36K extra simply because the more expensive camera has more features I'll probably never use.

Would love to hear what you would choose in my situation.

Hey hey, here’s a small insight of a recent project. Really love how the CCD sensor helps to support this kind of look I’m aiming for. Think it’s easier to get this kind of results with this small pocket camera than a bigger and newer one. Just went to shoot a whole photobook just with the ixus and really happy with the outcome. But a big downside is how slow the camera is so I’m thinking about other alternatives with kinda the same specs but a bit more possibilities regarding settings and modifications. Appreciate any leads and feedback!!

I currently shoot portraits on an A7III and found a used A7IV with only ~1k shutter count for $1,300.
I'm thinking of selling my A7III to grab it, but I'm also wondering if it’s worth holding out for an A7CII instead.

For those who shoot portraits, is $1,300 for the A7IV a no-brainer upgrade from the A7III, or would you recommend looking at the A7CII instead?

This has been racking my brain for years. Me and my movie club were having a huge argument over it. Someone said it was a “skywalker-camera”(???) but i don’t think they realize the connection of original lightsabers being created out of camera parts… I think it’s based on the Kodak Ektralite 10! I believe they were super common camera a lot of people had and fits the mold but they disagree. So can anyone tell us what Camera it was based on?

This is a LUMIX GM1, I researched and researched to find the smallest interchangeable lens camera possible for vacations/etc. I decided on this- it was about $550 and another $200 for the lens. I do deeply regret buying a camera and lens as expensive as this, but I do love the photos it takes. They’re not the craziest quality, but they have an incredible vibe and the colors are just amazing for a mindless point and shoot, edit if I want to later camera. The problem is that when people that don’t have that much experience with cameras use it, every time the camera looks blurry and a mess. Even with the auto focus on. It’s confusing why that happens.

But it is so incredible small, especially with this 14mm f/2.5 pancake lens. It fits in the palm of my hand and it almost looks like I’ve got a phone and a zyn can in my pocket when I put in.

Do y’all have any suggestions with this camera? Like how I can best shoot with it, what I should do to help other people shoot with it when I don’t want them to take blurry photos, or any other bits of information that would help me out, being extremely new and uninformed about cameras.

The mini DV deck doesn't work, I'm trying to find what connector it uses so that I can make it into a tapeless setup.

Hi, I want to get my first camera and found these two cameras online for about the same price. The S2950 is 35€ and the Nikon P80 is 25€ but missing the battery which would be an additional 10€, so they end up at the same price. Both seem to be in good condition but the owner of the P80 can't test if it still works because of the missing battery. I don't really care about video recording. I'd mostly want to take pictures of the landscape and the night sky. So I wanted to know, which camera is better?

I have an issue with the lens / backpack-mount combination I wanted to use.

With my Tamron lens I can't mount the camera onto the mounting plate as the little notch collides with the lens.

I was searching for something to screw between the camera and the arca plate in order to get the distance I need to make the mount work but had no success which is why I am posting this.

Any ideas?

My last resort would be to sand down the notch but that seems quite radical :(

No, I own a Nikon D5200 that was collecting dust over the years.

A friend of mine is going to sell his full frame Pentax K1. I'm conflicted if it's worth the upgrade.

I primarily take pictures of my kids and family and occasionally I do some street photography. Also I take the camera with me on vacations.

For the Nikon I only have the 18-55 kitlens.

I have a love for analoge photography and own several vintage Pentax lenses.

What are your thoughts? Upgrade, or stick to the Nikon (and buy 1 or 2 pre owned lenses)?
