Noise regulations
Are there any local or state laws regulating the volume of vehicle sound systems with windows closed on public streets beyond the 11 PM quiet hours cutoff in Yarmouth?

you can test it by cruising down Hyannis Main Street in a Friday or Saturday. Do the loop and increase the volume if your previous pass didn’t attract attention.

Yes, and there are other infractions you can get hit with as well. So, even if they don't hit you with a 'noise violation' they can hit you with this....
Impeded Operation / Distracted Driving — M.G.L. c. 90, § 13: This law prohibits operating a vehicle with anything that impedes proper control or driver awareness. Extravagantly loud audio that masks surrounding traffic sounds, emergency horns, or engine alerts can fall under impaired or distracted operation.

Sound systems are annoying but no where near as bad as all the dickheads on loud motorcycles. We get it. You think your cool because your bike's so loud it makes babies cry and it scares the shit out of dogs.

Unless they are circling your street, does it matter? They probably pass your house in a couple of seconds. Payback will be when he needs hearing aids at 50. But yes, there is in fact an ordinance against making unnecessarily loud noise from a car.

The cops in Newport have sensors on their cars to catch noise violators. They drive around and catch your car or house stereo to load, instant ticket. I used to drive to the base daily and have been stopped before.

Cops have never stopped me leaving work at midnight. Windows down, music blasting, all the way through dennis into yarmouth. Only a 5 minute drive and I know all the cops though so maybe they just don’t care 🤷♂️

Are you referring to that ahole around Yport with the extremely loud aftermarket exhaust that backfires constantly and I can literally hear him coming from miles away at three in the morning? I hope his pillow is always on the hot side and his belt loops always catch in doorways
Edit-thank you for the award, nit sure if I deserve it!
