… Help me understand.
I use to have a hard time with my job when I first started. Thrown into it, no proper training.
Over a year in, I am very good at my job. My role is basic admin work. I type very fast, and technology has always been easy to me.
Since I’m working in a clinic, I find myself rapidly running through the e-mails, now with AI, it’s a quicker tool (amplifying my speed).
Within 2-3 hours per day, I already have everything done, e-mails all done, no new patient messages, and when I do I respond within minutes. Our phones have been quite dead the past 2 months, and we’ve been slow (reflection of the economy, evidently).
I do other tasks (sending out the patient recalls, etc).
I find myself with nothing to do, besides refresh a page, over and over. There are times where (majority, actually), I’m doing my co-workers job, so I’m in the back dealing with sterilization, etc because I’m fighting falling asleep at the front.
My boss isn’t happy, claiming I’m not proactive, which I’m dumb founded by.
I have driven the business with hundreds of 5 star reviews, shocking the expectation as previous staff struggled. I rapidly go around cleaning the entire clinic sometimes because I have nothing to do. Before I was fixing things, and handling a lot more on my plate.
I genuinely work my ass off, and I take care of everything, which even my co-worker acknowledged. Yet my boss sees this as nothing “done” and ? I’m not proactive, which is shocking me.
Can someone please tell me why the hell is me being efficient an issue????
