so guys this is our spark, the chevrolet one. my dad's first car. i grew up in this car, the good moments and the bad ones. my mum learned to drive in it and so did i. tomorrow it goes as scrap in our kia seltos exchange (going for the HTE). ik people here share their cars all the time but i felt really heavy so here i am. 18 years with this bumblebee 🐝 time to say goodbye. thanks for everything little guy

I have a 2011 Innova registered in Jharkhand, and the registration has expired.

I’m trying to get it renewed, but I’m being told that the total cost will be around ₹70,000. What’s really frustrating is that the renewal/road tax calculation seems to be based on the original ex-showroom price of the vehicle, rather than what the car is actually worth today.

That honestly feels completely f*cking stupid and incredibly infuriating.

The car is 15 years old at this point and, even if the registration were valid, I don't think it would be worth more than ₹3 lakh in today's market. Yet I'm expected to pay a substantial amount calculated using the price of the car when it was brand new.

For reference, I’ve seen a Jharkhand Transport Department receipt for an older Innova where the total came to around ₹72,799, including roughly ₹59k in MV tax for a 5-year period.

The car itself is in good condition, so I’d prefer to keep it rather than scrap/sell it. But spending ₹70k+ just to get a 15-year-old car legally back on the road feels difficult to justify.

Has anyone in Jharkhand recently gone through RC renewal for a 15-year-old private car?

• Is ₹70k actually the correct amount?
• Is there any legal way to reduce the amount?
• Is there any concession or different calculation for older vehicles?
• Has anyone managed to do the process themselves through the DTO/Parivahan instead of using an agent?
• And most importantly, is there any way the tax can be calculated based on the current value of the vehicle rather than its original ex-showroom price?

I'm not looking for a way to avoid paying the tax. I just want to understand whether there's a more reasonable/legal way of dealing with this, because paying ₹70k against a car that's worth around ₹3 lakh seems absolutely insane.

Would especially appreciate experiences from Jharkhand .

after cancelling kia sonet htx diesel auto, booked creta s optional diesel auto summer edn on 15th aug and got delivery on 28th, superb condition, super features, comfort, handling, quality, tech, etc..

just few doubts - the epb doesnt engage automatically after i put gear in park, i have to manually pull the epb button.

secondly, black cars are not meant for indian roads,suggest car cleaning hacks to keep it polished

cant afford 70k ppf for now.

and before the seltos and sierra fan bois attack me,

theres no way on earth i could get diesel auto with epb, leds, panaromic roof, 17"alloys, dual zone ac, etc. features under 20lakhs and most importantly CRETA TOH CRETA HAI BHAIII😎🔥

Got the taisor S+ AMT. Extremely satisfied with this car. Even tho we were looking for a big car like grand vitara or a seltos we eventually settled on a small car as it is easy to drive for my mother ( who is gonna daily drive this car) . Anyone who is looking forward to buy this or even the fronx delta plus AMT ( both are same mechanically) can ask questions if u want!!

Need some advice from fellow car owners.

During heavy rain, visibility from my driving seat becomes almost zero, especially at night. The side glass and ORVM get covered with water droplets like in the photo, and the lights make it even worse.

What’s the best solution for this?

Looking for practical solutions that actually work.

Hyundai/Kia cabin is cool and all, but ford had the best one in my opinion. Which cabin is your favorite?
