Morning Addicks.

Planning on taking my eldest to her first football game today. She got into football due to the World Cup, plays footy at school and has now done the Charlton summer school that they run at New Eltham.

We live that way on. I'm an Evertonian but would like my nipper to support her local team as I loved going to the footy with my old man and it would be nice if she enjoyed it too. Due to the summer school she's already got a soft spot for Charlton.

Questions if anyone kind enough to answer:

1. Anywhere in particular good for sitting with an 8 year old? Family area seems pretty well sold already so I'm between the Curbishly stand and the west stand. As it looks like it's going to chuck it down would rather she didn't get soaked at her first game (and risk her never wanting to go again)?

2. What's traffic around Charlton like on match day? We're getting dropped off by my Mrs as the bus takes an hour, otherwise it's train to London Bridge and out to Charlton which also takes an hour.

3. Will I get any aggro for my accent, especially given it's Preston today and 'Northern' all sounds the same to Londoners? I'll be supporting Charlton, like.

Hopefully if all goes well a couple of season tickets will be on the horizon (see how she does with cold rainy days in December first, like).

I watched a couple of games so far - that Tyreece Campbell is some player.

Attending the upcoming home match against Queens Park and had some questions about match day-

1. Best pubs or bars nearby to prefunk the match?
   
2. Any must visit stores to purchase club gear? Or must see local landmarks?
   
3. Best way to get to the stadium from Kensington/West London? Happy to just roll with the tube-bus route that Maps tells me, but figured it’s worth an ask.
   
4. Any other match day pro tips?

First I’ve seen of this, but it’s going to be a ballache if I can’t bring my work bag to evening games. In short, no bags bigger than A4, no bag drop proved (says the Supporters’ Trust).

When you're watching every game and discussing every decision, it's easy to focus entirely on what's still wrong. A poor result feels massive. A missed signing becomes another reason to worry. And before long, you forget to compare where the club actually is with where it was a year or two ago. That doesn't mean supporters shouldn't be critical. Charlton fans have had more than enough reason to ask questions over the years.

But I do think sometimes we're so focused on where we want to get to that we struggle to acknowledge when something is actually improving.

Hi all, I’m thinking about going to my first away game outside London against Stoke next weekend.

I’d be going by myself so considering getting the coach so I can chat to people on the way there but had a few questions:

1. Is there a toilet on the coach or are there usually stops on the way for a longer journey like this?

2. How long before the match do coaches normally arrive? Is there time for a pint in a local pub/at the ground or is it usually straight in?

3. What’s the atmosphere like on the coach? It’s quite an early start for Stoke so not sure if people will want me trying to start conversations with them at 7am

Sorry if these are silly questions, a bit nervous about going by myself but I love the atmosphere at away games!

First time visiting the Valley.

Quick quesiton: It is a early kickoff 12.30. Does the pubs like The Royal Oak or Rose of Denmark open earlier?

If not, what does the locals do for pregame pints?

Whenever things start looking positive, there's almost an automatic instinct to say wait until it all goes wrong. And honestly, after everything the club has been through, I don't blame anyone for thinking that way. We've had enough false dawns to know better than to get carried away too quickly. But I sometimes wonder whether we're now so used to disappointment that even genuine progress gets met with suspicion.

I'm not saying we should blindly believe everything is perfect. I just think it would be nice to enjoy the good moments without immediately preparing ourselves for the inevitable disaster.

You'd think at least six would have to go, either permanently or on loan.

There are currently 21 squad members outside of the first-choice 11. That rises to 22 if JRS comes in.
