Discussion Update to the car ai dilemma I had

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just an update of how I fixed the stupid car ai from jump to the far opposite lane. Everyone mentioning the nodes was correct, and while im on console and dont have access to the node manager, deleting and replacing the road also worked. I decided to just redo the whole thing, tho bc it was just extremely cluttered and wanted it to feel less congested. Anyways I doubt anyone will care, but I just wanted to update none the less

Discussion Feature Wishlist for future Cities Skylines game (or any other city builder)

A list of features I would really like to see in future city buildings games

Parcel Based Zoning

- Zoning would be based on parcels rather than cells, allowing for better organic road layouts and angles other than 90, as well as working withing old right-of-ways

Generated Buildings

- All growable buildings would have some amount of unique generation, using a base combined with modular extensions. It seems like Citystate Metropolis has something similar to this

Fully modular service buildings

- Self explanatory, would make building more interesting and would give your city a more unique feel. CS2 tried, but it feels lacking

Longer days+Rush Hour

- I would like for the days to be significantly longer, maybe 1-2 hours long, and have notably different traffic during different parts of the day

Planning mode/better constructing

- Having to plan out construction projects, manage detours, and think about your projects impact on the city

Better flood/water management

- Natural disasters rarely feel like something your city has to manage, I'd like to plan it around flooding, and have the weather play a much larger role

Discussion Discovered something interesting when doing 1 Tile Cities

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was doing 1 Tile Cities and I discovered that Services can go in-between disconnected tiles as long as you have an outside connection. I also discovered citizens will travel to work via the outside connection to the other tiles which has allowed me to concentrate all my industry into 1 tile.

After a few trial and error on other world, this is my first "successful" city, planning to restart again to have better road layouts. Traffic is so bad that garbage trucks take so long to get to a certain part of the city which means garbage is piling up and that's why I want to restart again

Help & Support (PC) Industry won't send goods to commercial zones?

Thumbnail

This is how I always set up my industry, but for some reason my zones are only exporting goods instead of sending them to commercial zones. I know it's not an issue with the road setup because I can set up bus routes - the distance is really short plus I have no traffic issues.

I have tried adding a warehouse with zoned forest industry goods inside the commercial area and the trucks fill that up just fine, but then it doesn't move onwards to commercial units. All of my commercial zone is being abandoned, it's super weird! I do have mods (TM:PE) but I have been using these ones for years with 1000 hours on the game and have never had this issue, any advice?

Modding Release The Chunk is done: Water Tower from Wroclaw for Cities Skylines 2

I present you the chonk:

The Water Tower (Wieża Ciśnień) in the district Borek of Wroclaw (Poland) is a former water tower with viewing platform. It was built 1904-1905 and served the city with water pressure. The viewing platform with direct elevator access since initial opening provided views over the whole city and beyond. It has been out of use since the 1980s.

Ingame the tower can be found under water utilities and offers the same capacity as the vanilla water tower. It can be extended with a viewing platform access, offering attractiveness and leisure value to the citizens.

The building can be recolored across all 3 channels. Parts with recolorability are bricks, terracotta roof tiles and sandstone elements.

Hope you like it!

Help & Support (Console) What should I do with this space on an island?

Thumbnail

Playing on PS5 with most DLCs and I’m just not sure what to do with this empty part of one the barrier/beach islands in my city. I’d rather not just fill it with houses if I can avoid it. I’m just about out of unique buildings other than stadiums. I’d love to hear some ideas. I hate that that sand texture won’t go away and I’m reluctant to put a zoo or park on it where it will still be visible.

Is this a known issue? I have a pedestrian are which I’ve built for the speedway, but having issues with services that can’t reach, I have all the services and other buildings are getting them. Including other stands but not these. I’ve tried to repaint and replace services? Any other tips?

I really liked the idea of having a tram line running in the center of a main avenue, so I spent a lot of time building one and saving as much of the historic neighborhoods, road network, and crazy, over complicated intersections that I love about my this build. I’m really happy with how it came out!
