Vent Trigger ball
Does anyone think it is normal in a one point5 center and balance class to spend 20 minutes rolling the trigger ball under our feet? I understand that some people have feet issues and this might feel good. I do not and I find it boring. I do not see the reason to spend 20 minutes on anyone exercise I feel like it is a time filler for the instructor.

As an Instructor I teach this once every 4-5 months. I teach it be dude I lived it when my favorite instructor did it when I was just a student. Now after teaching it I sometimes worry but then I’ll usually have someone come tell me how wonderful it was. So you can’t please everyone. Some will love it. Some will hate it. If it’s not every class just move on.

I love the trigger ball lol, but we spend 1 minute per foot. I could it for 5, it’s crazy how much stress there is in the feet lol.

Instructors are not supposed to use the trigger ball for Center and Balance at ALL. It states this on our training page. It’s supposed to be used in a Restore class.

What if your studio doesn’t offer restore? Which mine doesn’t - there is one instructor who uses the ball (feet standing and also sitting on the reformer with it on your glutes)

I have never used a trigger ball in any of my Center & Balance classes.

I also took a center & balance 1.5 class today that spent quite a bit of time using the trigger ball to roll out our feet and hands. I too thought it was boring - you are not alone my friend 😂 I think next time I’ll try standing at the ballet bar, maybe the added pressure would be more engaging.

Since this isn’t the first time this instructor has used the trigger ball under the feet in a one point5 center and balance class, I have decided that the next time it happens I am going to pull out the foam roller and just do my own exercises. I thought about that and whether it would be rude, but I’m paying a lot for that class and the wonderful stretching that it provides but I see no need for any exercise to be that long. I do hear some of the gals in the class moaning and rowing about how good it feels but come on 20 minutes out of 50.??? I might not be so opposed to it if it was reflexology and somebody was doing it to my feet, but just standing in there and rolling a ball under my foot is worthless OK so I am finished talking about it🤣🤣😱

It’s not something people do every class, but it is something that is extremely welcomed in center and balance or restore especially. Trigger point is so important for reflexology and it’s basically the equivalent of doing your footwork in a regular class on the footbar, with additional pressure points, it also helps correct and stabilize posture. I would have been thrilled about this!

center and balance is a zero trigger point product class

What dies that even mean?

Trigger Point products are the foam roller and massage ball— they’re not supposed to be used during C&B.

That is more a Restore prop, not Center & Balance. Never seen it used in that class.

Your pelvic floor starts in your feet. But 20 minutes seems like a lot.

While it is all connected, the pelvic floor does not actually start in the feet.

Well, a PT and Pilates researcher said that it did so there may be something to it.

Oh come on. I bet it felt amazing, and you probably learned a whole lot of different ways to massage the feet. This doesn't sound like something to complain about, but I wasn't there

Was it really 20 or just felt like it? There are some exercises that feel like we’re doing them forever but it’s not actually that long
