Hi everyone!

I recently built a small colouring app called Pocket Crayons, mostly because I wanted something simple that I could hand to my 4-year-old when she wanted to draw on my phone.

The idea was to make it feel a bit more like giving a child a box of crayons than giving them another mobile game, so I created the app with no ads, no accounts, no subscriptions, and nothing constantly trying to get their attention. Just colouring and drawing.

One of the things I particularly wanted was to make it easy for parents to keep their child inside the app, so it includes a child lock that makes accidentally leaving the drawing screen harder, and you can use Guided access so they cannot access other apps on your phone (there are some instructions in the grown-ups area).

I’ve just released the first version on iPhone/iPad and I’d genuinely love some feedback from people who enjoy colouring, especially anyone with young kids.

I’ve been working on an iPad coloring app called Imagine & Color, and I’d really like feedback from people who actually spend time coloring rather than just other app developers.

The idea is to combine a traditional digital coloring book with a Studio where you can describe something you want to color and have a new coloring page created for you.

There’s also a Library of curated coloring pages, with 50 new pages being added each month, and tools for coloring directly on the iPad.

I’d especially love feedback on:

• Whether the coloring experience feels natural on an iPad
• What tools you consider essential in a digital coloring app
• Whether you prefer curated pages or creating your own
• Anything that feels confusing or unnecessary
• What would make you actually keep using a coloring app long term

I’m the developer, so I’m obviously biased. Please don’t worry about being nice. Constructive criticism is much more useful to me than compliments.

A Super Silly Juicebox Coloring Book

Hi r/Colouring! I’m the creator behind Elora Sage Books.

I wanted this project to be more than a collection of unrelated food illustrations. Vegan Street Food: Coloring Recipes combines two relaxing, screen-free hobbies: simple plant-based cooking and coloring.

The book contains 25 vegan street-food recipes and 25 matching coloring pages arranged across five themed food-truck chapters. As the festival continues, familiar trucks, vendors and visitors appear again in connected little scenes.

This is the Loaded Vegan Nachos spread from The Green Taco Truck chapter, shown partway through coloring. The recipe sits beside a festival moment where three friends discover just how far melted vegan cheese can stretch.

When coloring a spread like this, would you begin with the food, the characters or the surrounding festival details?

I recently created Picasso Faces, a coloring book inspired by cubist art, geometric shapes, and abstract female portraits.
The pages are designed as a relaxing creative activity: simple linework, expressive faces, and plenty of room to experiment with bold or unusual color combinations.

While searching for a paint-by-numbers game to scratch a specific itch I tried Lake and Pigment which both work great! You can upload your own photos and get line art you can color yourself, but it does not give you the guide that paint-by-numbers usually does, also it is paid and is only on mobile/tablet.

Also found Wabihana which is mostly free and works on all platforms but it does not give you the flexibility to paint your own colors in the region, which makes it solely a color clicker.

So decided to build my own and so far I have been enjoying playing it as much as making it.
