question Transition prep

Greetings. I am a video engineer by trade. I have been the AV Director for a small college campus for 4 years. Heading back into the field in January. I have become an expert with OUR internal gear. But what have I missed? What are some of the new gadgets and gizmos that are on the scene that I should know about? Please advise. Thanks everyone!

Hard to say. Aside from an updated device you could be quite up to date.

What exactly is your internal gear? How old is it? Are you using AVOIP already? BYOD? Various unified communication hardware? Beamforning mic arrays? Speaker tracking?

Yes. AVOIP we're using Runway/Concourse for all of out signal flow. No beam forming. Audio is pretty straightforward. Running a Midas board with fixed mics in an environment that we totally control. But I'll dig into these concepts. Thanks!

I operated in Trade show/conventions before. So it was often pretty straightforward. E2 level video operations with some live cameras thrown in.
