General What do you think is the reason Blizzard hides the 'Healing Received' stat?

According to Aaron Keller, they aren't adding it because revealing the Healing Received numbers might cause toxic arguments, but if that's the logic, the only right conclusion would be to delete the entire scoreboard altogether, so his argument feels like a weak excuse.

Honestly, whenever I play tank and get frustrated with incompetent team supports, I often find myself really curious about how much healing I actually received. I'm curious why they won't implement it.

Fluff Why pay dedicated Hitscans, if Hitscan is easiest role and average Flex DPS can do their job?

Literally EVERYWHERE, I hear this take.

“Hitscan is a piss easy role, people that play it are handless brainless bums. Literally any Flex DPS can pick up Hitscan and do good”

But Quartz, Lip, Mer1t are all high earning players. Why pay them this much money, if you can get Diamond Flex DPS players to do their piss easy job for literal pennies.

General Freja: Adressing current painpoints while retaining her viability.

As my favourite DPS in the game since her release, Freja, balance wise, is a character that had been in a terrible state for over 9 months, being consistently one of the worst performing DPS in the game. Her current iteration, thankfully, sees her at her most objectively balanced state yet with a near to around 50% winrate at all ranks. However, her current state also brings new pain points which are reflected in her resurging high ban rate. Here I propose some changes to retain her current performance while addressing her more irksome qualities.

Tweaks:

  • Removal of Relentless barrage minor perk: This minor perk is the current crux of her high spam potential into tanks allowing for endless primary fire pressure without downtime from her relatively long reload animation. Removing this perk alone would tone down her spam potential, by not only offering downtime but also making the Freja think twice before spamming the tank as it could leave her vulnerable to enemy DPS in a duel.
  • Nerf Freja's passive back to 25% ult charge down from 33%: Her current passive from a recent buff sees Freja receive 33% ult charge from getting 3 final blows. This was a buff that was given to her due to her low kill potential a few patches ago, but now that her lethality has been re-established I don't believe it is necessary anymore. This would tone down what can currently feel like non-stop Bola's if the Freja player is popping off.
  • Reduce her current sound stimuli: While I understand the sound design team has their hands full with the current hero cadence to redo some of Freja's sound design, at the very least reducing it from the enemies pov to between 10%-20% similarly to what they did to Sierra would be a good start to removing some of the headache and near constant perceived presence Freja can cause.
  • Increase her clip size from 15 to 18: Currently Freja can comfortably weave 6 primary fire shots in between every Take Aim. As such the 15 ammo can feel wonky when it comes to her third set of primary fire shots. With the removal of relentless barrage I think this would make her feel better to play and would be more than fair.
  • Decrease Bola cast time by 0.2 seconds: In a vacuum Bola is one of the worst DPS ults in the game. By reducing its frequency making it smoother and more consistent to use would be a good trade off.

With these changes I aimed to improve some jank from the Freja's perspective while addressing the most glaring pain points from the enemy's perspective. Hopefully if the balance team is to touch Freja in the near future they do something similar to this instead of nerfing the wrong things and making her terrible again while still leaving her annoying to face. Any thoughts?

General Ana's subrole and headhunter perk

Just had a few parts of Anas kit on my mind wanted to talk to others about.

How are we feeling about Ana's subrole or really just the tactician subrole as a whole. I don't think it's bad but honestly I don't feel I am seeing that much value at least comparatively to the other subroles, from it I am usually using my ult when or very soon after I get it and I am not getting that much additional ult charge after, a boost of charge after an ult is never a bad thing I just never feel like it's that much to feel impactful? I could just be like beyond ignorant rn and way undervaluing the role as well please tell me lol

I know I have seen the point made a few times that she could be instead put in the medic subrole could help with her survivability since the passive changes we had in season 1, which I know is something they have had in mind with her balance, was part of the reason we had the recent nade buff which I don't know if I am a big fan of that I understand they want nade to be used for more than just anti and it's meant to save teammates or even yourself sometimes and it needs to be strong in all those aspects but giving it more damage I just don't know about being my favorite direction.

Also wanted to talk about headhunter, I feel like it's gotta be one of the stronger major perks overall, Ana already does really good damage before having it but once it's up it just feels a bit ridiculous the amount of damage you can put out while being hitscan and having zero fall off along side everything else she can do, I do not want the perk to go away I absolutely love it it's so satisfying but should it be adjusted am I overvaluing it or do you think it's in a healthy spot? I think it's strong but being rewarded for doing damage and hitting headshots and it being a major perk I think balance it out but the amount of output you can do with it still feels like a lot.

I think is in a good spot rn this isn't a complaint or a call for change on anything more so just wanting to see how others are vibing with her and how she feels to play rn and how we feel about some aspects of her kit.

General As a support I dont understand positioning

Upvotes

I often see my damage players go so far away and I dont know what to do. They just die over and over. I can heal my team if they stay to the side and I just stand to there looking at my teamates. The problem is they often go behind cover somewhere like 30 meters from me while im with the tank. I always stay somewhere where I can see the tank, but then we just lose because the damage players keep dying.

Im good at surviving, I usually have least deaths in the lobby. I am good at keeping my whole team alive if they are like 15m distance and not behind something. The problem is when they go so far away.

If you could look at this game and let me know what I was doing wrong thatd be good.

General Secret sauce to ranking up

This is all my personal opinion and should be read a anecdote for entertainment rather than a guide. Up to you through. I recently switched to pc (300ish hours) and mainly play tracer widow shion. I was hard stuck low mid emerald for this whole season. See my issue was tracer she just wasn’t deadly enough. Is borderline impossible to kill someone getting actively healed by a Ana or kiri or even being flash healed by a mercy. Also blink, your movement plus the enemy movement just makes it really hard to aim. I mostly play fps games cause I like aim and hitting headshots so forcing point and drawing attention and baiting cooldown yata yata is superrrrrr boring. I just play for 1 clips and duels but it almost never works out on flex dps because you need to time your engage with your teams aggression so your target doesnt get peel or isn’t looking.

SECRET SAUCE: recently ive just been play Cass like a tracer. I just walk up main shoot their tank so he’s forced to back so my team can walk up then flank and play like a weird perverted creep. If they have a flex dps I crouch walk and camp the flank to flash hammer them or if they have no one on the flank I just walk up and take my sweet time to line up the 2 tap on unsuspecting hitscan or support. This is also how I highnoon usually where you just hard flank but you can also use it for capping a point or just reloading in duels. Idk I’ve been trying the same thing on widow and emre but it only work on Cass. With double flash and silver bullet I genuinely don’t think anyone stand a chance in a straight up 1v1 against this op ass hitscan. Especially if they are caught unawares. The issue with tracer was always getting close without them noticing or getting poked and I had to more so play to control/deny the space I was blinking into cause I’m def not kill the Ana kiri stacking back of main on most payload maps as a solo tracer. On Cass though, in true pedophile fashion I just wait till the poor Ana is hard scoping or jump or straight lining (basically vulnerable) and two tap her. Idk

Playing predscan like a flex dps work really well till diamond cause play hitscan without heals in the modern day (dmon cat shion) is worse than torture.

General Is Solo Queue your "real" rank?

ICL I have been capped at mid masters all roles for multiple seasons now, and it feels like I win pretty evenly to my losses, which is the issue since you need to be positive to rank up obviously.

But I can't help but notice that a decent amount of my close losses, could have very easily been wins if I had a duo at the same level as me, and that makes me wonder, if I had a duo, and we made it to GM, does that make me (and him) GM level players?

Or would that make us Master level players who made it past by duoing together?

On one hand I feel like if you can reach GM even in a duo, then you deserve it, and it's your "true" rank, but then on the other hand, you aren't doing it yourself so is it actually what you deserve?

You also have to account for other people duo queueing in your games as well for example which makes it even more complicated.

What do you guys think?

P.S. this isn't a post to try and argue I deserve a higher rank or anything like that, I honestly think im around about right (though I will admit, I do think I could hit GM with a duo)

General Stutters and freezes mid-fight for the last few weeks

Gigabyte 5080

850 W platinum power supply

Hi! Over the last several weeks I’ve noticed my performance in overwatch is significantly worse than in previous months. I’m noticing short, freezes and hangs in busy team fights for reference. I typically play at 4K resolution 240 Hz.

In the middle of a large team fight, my game will pick up freeze and stutter. I’ve typically ran the game at high settings with ease. Despite lowering the settings, the issue persist. I’m not seeing performance issues with any other titles install on my PC.

Things I’ve tried:

Updates to latest Nvidia drivers
Reset shader cache with custom game modes
Verifying the game files in Steam
Rolling back Nvidia drivers
Updated Windows 11
Lowered in-game settings to medium

Leaving voice chat did not fix my issue either.

Is there anyone else running into this and is there something I’m missing?

OWCS Why are we seeing Emre in pro play but not Ashe?

Is it just a numbers thing with how the two are right now? Or something fundamentally better with Emre by design?

Is the no speed penalty on scope the difference maker or has Freja replaced Ashe as the vertically mobile hitscan of choice?
