Anyone still running an older Hayward AquaLogic or ProLogic?
My AquaLogic wireless remote died, and used replacements are expensive. Rather than replace another obsolete remote or upgrade an otherwise working pool controller, I built a small Wi-Fi interface that listens to the AquaLogic RS-485 accessory bus and serves a local webpage.
The current version is running on an AquaLogic PS-4, revision 2.93. It reads equipment state, pool and air temperatures, salt level, chlorinator output, diagnostics, and three days of temperature history. It runs entirely on the local network—no cloud service, Home Assistant, or MQTT required.
It is read-only today. Control remains locked until the isolated RS-485 interface arrives and I can safely characterize transmit timing and verify the key codes against the actual panel. I don't want to call something a beta until that part has been tested.
This is a personal DIY project; there is nothing for sale. I'm trying to determine how many of these older systems are still operating and whether other owners would eventually want to test a standalone Wi-Fi interface.
If you own one, could you post:
- Controller model: P4, PS-4, PS-8, PS-16, etc.
- Main software revision
- Whether the original remote or network interface still works
- Whether you would be interested in testing it once control has been validated
