Sa1 installation with eArc

Hoping you guys can help me out. Sold a few Triad SA1's for a job and it's the first time we're using them. We can't figure out how to get eArc activated. We called control4 on Friday and after two levels of "tech support" they had no idea either and told us just to use fiber. That's all fine and dandy since we have a control4 system but we'd rather use eArc.

For their pool area we have a large sunbrite with an eArc extender kit connecting into the SA1 for a landscape audio system. We'd rather the client not have to manually switch between tv and music although it's not the end of the world. With eArc it should just automatically switch on with the tv when they turn it on which is the function we're going for.

Snaps website says eArc is activated with Ryff and full disclosure we didn't set that up (client wasn't home at the time and then came home very late as we needed to leave) so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I'm hoping someone else has sold and programmed these because it seems like Contol4's own tech support hasn't 🙃 anyone else notice how they started to outsource their customer/tech support

Thanks in advance!

If you look at the SA1 documentation, it specifically calls out that eARC is not permitted in Control4-controlled systems. It is only for Ryff standalone systems.

It's CEC that is disabled, not ARC.

Thank you. Will let the programmer know.

CEC is not available when integrated into a control4 system. However ARC is. If the correct connections are made TV audio should work fine. Used it plenty of times.

Check TV audio settings that arc is on. And change the audio output to PCM if you can.

Another reason we sell more sonos than Control4 amps unfortunately

Patently false.
