Discussion The biggest scam in CPK history
Someone brought this up recently, so I thought I’d take everyone back to February for a little trip down memory lane.
This has got to be one of the biggest scam in CPK history. I’m talking about the whole "Iroha suki" Morse code thing. As far as we remember, it originally came from a Chinese person who claimed to be a music teacher, and the theory eventually made its way into an official video.
When the theory first came out, I spent roughly 1–2 weeks fact-checking it and found that there was actually no way to prove it. I tried slowing down the clip and counting the beats, as well as analyzing the audio with a spectrogram. It was pretty clear that it was just a repeating audio loop, and even if you tried to decode it as Morse code, there was no way it would spell "Iroha suki"
On top of that, the composer Yuigot, has never once mentioned this supposed easter egg. That’s completely different from the 168 BPM detail, which they actually talked about in a post on Twitter and openly discussed in interviews. At this point, it’s pretty damn obvious that the whole "Iroha suki" thing was fake.
Honestly, this is a pretty good case study on why you should verify things for yourself before believing rumors you see on the internet. Otherwise, you’ll just end up getting fooled like this.
People these days seem to be way too quick to believe things. They get swept up by the crowd and forget to actually check the facts. So, please use the internet responsibly and think for yourselves.
