ugh sims 4

sorry sorry ik im just SO frustrated with this. I pirated the sims 4 in the past on my laptop, no issues and i dont recall using anadius updater/dlc unlocker.

i thought i'd try on my computer this time. i noticed the pirated version i downloaded seems different tho i got it from the same place (no more common redist folder etc.) and idk if thats part of the issue or what.

anyways ive looked thru so many posts and youtube tutorials but none of it is working for me. i put the free DLC in the real sims 4 base folder, not pirated, and its only sorta recognizing it? its broken, but some of it is loading and there will be a missing texture or the default llama icon.

i used the anadius DLC unlocker as well. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. ive tried putting the DLC in the EA sims 4 folder and the Steam sims 4 folder.

summary of what i did: put free DLC from pirated sims game (cuz that wasnt launching) into my real Steam sims 4 game base folder, used anadius DLC unlocker, and tried putting the DLC in my EA sims 4 folder also cuz i saw a post saying that but it did nothing.

is this an issue of how i'm doing it, or are my DLC outdated or something? i like literally just downloaded them but maybe the version is off? i also would prefer to play offline, or get the pirated version to work i just can't seem to get it to. which is frustrating cuz i got it to work on my laptop
