I'm a beginner! Need help identifying slip stitch back loop. Newbie making a beanie, pics included!

Hi friends! I’m working on a beanie pattern that works in rows of HDC and slip stitches. The whole pattern is BLO. I’m definitely getting better!

I’m not sure I’ve been doing BLO on the slip stitches properly. From what I can see, there’s a front and back of a slip stitch. So is the BLO the bottom on the back, or the top on the front?

I know it’s not perfect, but the only way to improve is through and I’m excited to have this as an early project to compare to as I try other patterns.

The back loop of the 'V' is the one in the far side of the fabric from where you sit; the front loop is on the side of the 'V' nearest your body.

From where you crochet, the one in front of you if the front loop, the one which is away from you is the back loop

In the first photo the leg of the v that your middle finger is touching is the back loop
