Hello! It’s first time using tshirt yarn and I made this sea shell bag. I am a fairly experienced crocheter though I won’t consider myself at an expert level.

Any tips/suggestions for the future?

Also, I realised that tshirt yarn caused a lot of pain in my hands. Any suggestions on how I can reduce it?

Title may be a little dramatic for what I’m asking but can I unravel this yarn to make individual balls of each color that makes up the cake? I hope that makes sense. Like divide it into the 6 colors instead of having the color changes.

And if so or if anyone has done this before what is the best approach? I have a yarn winder but I’m not sure that will be helpful until I have them separated.

I’m nervous I’m going to regret it or fluff up my yarn by doing this and it’s so pretty I’m trying to avoid that 😅

**editing to add the color changes are pretty long, I have 4 cakes of it, the intended project is worked center out and changes color each row, and I’m trying NOT to have to buy more yarn hence this idea as a possibility.

Or if anyone know what the name of this kind of top is so I can search for a pattern!! Preferably a YouTube video :)

I crocheted this lace polo last year, and I absolutely never wear it. Part of it is that I'm not that into t shirts, part of it is that it's merino, and a wool t shirt doesn't really work in any season for me. I'm wondering if I could somehow make it into a cardigan and wanted to know if anyone had any experience doing something like this. One major concern is that the blue yarn is discontinued, so I would not be able to continue the stripe pattern.

Thanks in advance. I am a fairly beginner crocheter but have been tasked with finishing the blanket that he wasn’t able to complete. The blanket is probably 2/3 complete. The top border is done and there is a border going down either side. I never got the chance to ask him what stitches he was using for the main blanket and the border. I have lots of yarn and crochet hooks but no idea what stitch to use. Can add more photos if that helps

I have been crocheting for years, but I do not enjoy sewing so when it comes to Amigurumi I usually only do no sew patterns where everything is one piece. I have been asked by someone to make an adorable Bat, that has a pattern already. The designer is Sassaroo on etsy and it is so cute, however I have run into issues.

I like the front of the bat and think that it is cute. The back I am unsure about, The wings are so bulky as the pattern has you fold them in half and sew them on . Is the back supposed to to look like this? By that I mean should you be able to see where i have sewn all the pieces on? Should I try again? Or am I just being super critical of my work?

I am also almost out of time as they wanted this done by Friday and I was hoping to have this done by Tuesday (today).

This scrap yarn was gifted to me and I really love the colors.. but that is all I got.. what to do with it? ^^ can be anything!

This is tunisian crochet. It was my first time trying it so at the bottom the edges are really wonky because I was uncomfortable and my form was off. Its now been about a week since I first started tunisian crochet and I've gotten more comfortable. The only problem is that now my most recent rows look vastly different from my beginner rows. The edges look more uniform and are less bulky, probably because my tension is better.

I really dont want to restart because I've already restarted like twice before due to my perfectionism. I was thinking about adding a border at the end. I also plan on steaming to fix the "curling" effect but I'm not sure if that will help the edges too.

If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it!

Hello!!! I've attached pics of my actual squares and then a couple mockups of joining colors. I plan on doing a granny join as I want to add a little with and length without having to do more squares 😂. I thought I'd do the ivory, but I'm kind of liking the butter? Thoughts? This will be my first ever completed blanket. Be gentle with me! 🫶🏻 Also - any thoughts on the border? I was thinking bringing in the green and then doing a simple clam (or similar) border might be nice.

I didnt use a pattern for the whole thing, I just winged it, but I did use a tutorial for the decals. The moon and the stars are very "crosshatchy", is that just because the yarn is a different thickness? I like how the clouds came out, but even they look kinda wrong compared to the tutorials Ive seen, any advice on how to make them cleaner?

I am working on designing a crochet chart for an oval-shaped piece. I am new to designing crochet charts and so I am looking for feedback on the clarity of this design.

The red arrow points towards the starting stitch, and the dotted red line indicates the round marker. The ovals are chains, t is single crochet, T is half-double crochet, o is slip stitch, and the crescents represent crocheting in the back loops only.

The piece I am designing uses color changes, so the colors in the picture represent the yarn colors to use (green, black, and white). The two stitches on the right side are using half-color change technique.

If you are familiar with reading crochet charts, does this chart make any sense? Is there anything that seems ambiguous?

Well i broke up with my girlfriend some time ago, which is big pitty but now I can happily focus on crocheting for myself :).

I've been looking for shirt patterns but struggle to find something i'd like for me, i'd enjoy something with a complex/elegant texture, in idea alike the first photo but more complex and less ''filet-crochet-like'', any recommendations for concrete free/paid patterns and/or where to find them?

Aswell i'd like to find a pattern for a shirt that is homogenous from top to bottom, in the sense that i could use a gradient yarn like on the second photo and that the colors wouldn't be disected onto different parts and pannels.

first attempt at micro crochet ! Thing is I’m a perfectionist and i feel like my way of crocheting (can’t upload video but i have never seen anyone with the same hand/yarn placement) could be getting in the way of “cleaner” and more regular stitches.

Any tips for neater micro crochet ?

I posted this picture a few days ago hoping someone could help me find a pattern for this Afghan square. No one recognizedit, but I received a couple very good suggestions on how to replicate it. The second picture is my first attempt at replicating it. I got it for the most part, but it needs some refinement. I am going to type up the pattern sometime this week. I would love it if a couple of people would try the pattern out and maybe come up with suggestions for improvement. I want to give it another try this week hopefully. For one thing, I really needed white for the shells, not ecru, in order for the pale yellow to show up.

I used Lion Brand 24/7 for all of it except the last round in Navy blue, which is Omega Sinfonia. It is also mercerized cotton, but just a bit lighter weight. I love mercerized cotton, but for this pattern, I think a softer cotton or acrylic would work better. I think the stitches are too defined.

When I first started crocheting, I bought lots of cheap, poor quality acrylic yarn. It ages poorly and gets all weird and fuzzy after continuous use. I will be moving soon and would like to start slowly replacing all the acrylic yarn I’ve hoarded to better quality one. I was thinking about crocheting some decorations to my new room, but i don’t think I will be able to use all the yarn up that way. I was also considering crocheting a bunch of plushies and donating them to local thrift stores, but I would feel bad donating something I know will deteriorate fast. I am looking for ways on how I can use up that yarn and would very appreciate any ideas you might have

I'm looking for this pattern or a pattern of this flower (the kowhai flower) I've tried looking and sadly the only one that matches well isn't available for purchase anymore, the person isn't even on the Internet anymore I don't think. The reason I'm looking for it is because my New Zealand soon to be wife wants me to crochet the bouquet for our ceremony/wedding and wants these and sunflowers (that's the easy one lol) and I can't find any other good patterns so I'm hoping one of y'all can help me out

Hi friends! I’m working on a beanie pattern that works in rows of HDC and slip stitches. The whole pattern is BLO. I’m definitely getting better!

I’m not sure I’ve been doing BLO on the slip stitches properly. From what I can see, there’s a front and back of a slip stitch. So is the BLO the bottom on the back, or the top on the front?

I know it’s not perfect, but the only way to improve is through and I’m excited to have this as an early project to compare to as I try other patterns.

Hi everyone! Today I was watching a video about cool crochet stuff to crochet for fall and I saw a really cool free pattern for a sweater (which is/will be my very first wearable, but just so you know I've been crocheting for some years know, mostly amigurumi, granny squares, silly stuff online, but never wearable). I searched online the name of the author and the pattern, which I've found on Instragram, the problem is I'm having a hard time understanding a little part of the pattern and I don't know if it's because English is not my first language or because I've never made a wearable. The author also added a drawing that should be helping me, but it kinda of isn't...
I understand how to get the measurements and everything is okay till point 7: there I start getting some problems T-T
I understand where I should be on the drawing when I'm at point 5.
I understand where I should be on the drawing when I'm at point 6. (And I understand that I should be in the "inner" part of the gap, like near my neck, NOT near my shoulder.)
But what do I do after point 6? What do they with "chain x then TRC THE REST OF THE ROW"? WHAT ROW? The one I just finished doing? Like... I basically make a loop? No, it's doesn't make sense
Than it is said "making sure you leave the same number of stitches as there are chains untouched" what. Just... what. What stitched?
And how am I supposed to do the other part? Like... the other shoulder? Because immediately after that, in point 8, it is said "repeat step 3", meaning that I have to keep going to do the second panel (either being it the front or the back), so like... when or how to I do the other shoulder? Especially since the pattern is telling me that I should be finishing at the "end" of the should, already in front of the new panel... T-T
Before trying any pattern I try to read it to understand what is going on, but this one got me really mad because I really really wanted to do it :c
