Hello! It’s first time using tshirt yarn and I made this sea shell bag. I am a fairly experienced crocheter though I won’t consider myself at an expert level.

Any tips/suggestions for the future?

Also, I realised that tshirt yarn caused a lot of pain in my hands. Any suggestions on how I can reduce it?

How did i do? Im still beginner so their might be some incorrect stitches. But so far im really enjoying it.

Title may be a little dramatic for what I’m asking but can I unravel this yarn to make individual balls of each color that makes up the cake? I hope that makes sense. Like divide it into the 6 colors instead of having the color changes.

And if so or if anyone has done this before what is the best approach? I have a yarn winder but I’m not sure that will be helpful until I have them separated.

I’m nervous I’m going to regret it or fluff up my yarn by doing this and it’s so pretty I’m trying to avoid that 😅

**editing to add the color changes are pretty long, I have 4 cakes of it, the intended project is worked center out and changes color each row, and I’m trying NOT to have to buy more yarn hence this idea as a possibility.

Or if anyone know what the name of this kind of top is so I can search for a pattern!! Preferably a YouTube video :)

I posted this picture a few days ago hoping someone could help me find a pattern for this Afghan square. No one recognizedit, but I received a couple very good suggestions on how to replicate it. The second picture is my first attempt at replicating it. I got it for the most part, but it needs some refinement. I am going to type up the pattern sometime this week. I would love it if a couple of people would try the pattern out and maybe come up with suggestions for improvement. I want to give it another try this week hopefully. For one thing, I really needed white for the shells, not ecru, in order for the pale yellow to show up.

I used Lion Brand 24/7 for all of it except the last round in Navy blue, which is Omega Sinfonia. It is also mercerized cotton, but just a bit lighter weight. I love mercerized cotton, but for this pattern, I think a softer cotton or acrylic would work better. I think the stitches are too defined.

I have been crocheting for years, but I do not enjoy sewing so when it comes to Amigurumi I usually only do no sew patterns where everything is one piece. I have been asked by someone to make an adorable Bat, that has a pattern already. The designer is Sassaroo on etsy and it is so cute, however I have run into issues.

I like the front of the bat and think that it is cute. The back I am unsure about, The wings are so bulky as the pattern has you fold them in half and sew them on . Is the back supposed to to look like this? By that I mean should you be able to see where i have sewn all the pieces on? Should I try again? Or am I just being super critical of my work?

I am also almost out of time as they wanted this done by Friday and I was hoping to have this done by Tuesday (today).

Thanks in advance. I am a fairly beginner crocheter but have been tasked with finishing the blanket that he wasn’t able to complete. The blanket is probably 2/3 complete. The top border is done and there is a border going down either side. I never got the chance to ask him what stitches he was using for the main blanket and the border. I have lots of yarn and crochet hooks but no idea what stitch to use. Can add more photos if that helps

Completed my first dish cloth, I used double crochet (idk what the actual term is) and 5mm hook. It’s very wonky but if anyone has any tips to improve and what I could work on. Things I should invest in, also let me know.

This is tunisian crochet. It was my first time trying it so at the bottom the edges are really wonky because I was uncomfortable and my form was off. Its now been about a week since I first started tunisian crochet and I've gotten more comfortable. The only problem is that now my most recent rows look vastly different from my beginner rows. The edges look more uniform and are less bulky, probably because my tension is better.

I really dont want to restart because I've already restarted like twice before due to my perfectionism. I was thinking about adding a border at the end. I also plan on steaming to fix the "curling" effect but I'm not sure if that will help the edges too.

If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it!

I crocheted this lace polo last year, and I absolutely never wear it. Part of it is that I'm not that into t shirts, part of it is that it's merino, and a wool t shirt doesn't really work in any season for me. I'm wondering if I could somehow make it into a cardigan and wanted to know if anyone had any experience doing something like this. One major concern is that the blue yarn is discontinued, so I would not be able to continue the stripe pattern.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I made this blanket sort of in the chaos blanket way that’s popular on TT right now. I’ve done 3 rounds of the border, sc, dc, hdc. But i feel like it’s looking so plain compared to the rest of the blanket that’s super textured and fun. I have 5 more colors that were used in the blanket and I’d like to use each color in the border but idk what to do.

I spent all summer on this blanket for my baby sister’s baby girl. Will gift this coming weekend. Pattern below.

Question: I skipped the last row of front post / back post double crochet on the border. I just got burned out. But I do have time to do it. For the seasoned crocheters, is there any downside to stopping here? Other than aesthetic choice?

first attempt at micro crochet ! Thing is I’m a perfectionist and i feel like my way of crocheting (can’t upload video but i have never seen anyone with the same hand/yarn placement) could be getting in the way of “cleaner” and more regular stitches.

Any tips for neater micro crochet ?

Y’all, I would love suggestions, but this is also partially a vent. I’ve been on an internet hunt for what seems like forever, trying to throw money at anything besides the usual players. (Amzn’s integration of Alexa into search was the nail in the coffin for me.)

Even using DuckDuckGo, I can only find links to products on Amazon. I can order some for p/u from Walmart, but that’s not much better. My “L”YS is an hour away in no traffic, and they don’t ship the blocking boards they have in stock.

I don’t want to DIY. I just want a dang set of interlocking blocks that I can bring out and pack away as needed.

Edit: I already have a wooden blocking board, but I just got into thread crochet wearables and would prefer foam for more precision.

I didnt use a pattern for the whole thing, I just winged it, but I did use a tutorial for the decals. The moon and the stars are very "crosshatchy", is that just because the yarn is a different thickness? I like how the clouds came out, but even they look kinda wrong compared to the tutorials Ive seen, any advice on how to make them cleaner?

Just frogged a queen/king size throw that was 90% done because I hated it. My fault in colour choice and frankensteining a pattern and making something too big 😅.

I now have gorgeous pattern for a regular sized throw that is kind of a stash buster to use up all my frogged yarn.

I really struggle with colour choices until I see it worked up. Does anyone have any suggestions? The pattern maker used 17 colours but more or less are doable. I want it to be a little cohesive (eg. Pattern pic is blue-themed).

Would love any help! I have more of pretty much everything and am thinking of relying heavily on the cream to keep it lighter in tone. In particular, I’m feeling unsure about the lighter blues/greens and the brightest orange.

First time buying yarn online, and now I’m questioning my choice 😅 Second photo is was I want to make, and it’s done with 5mm yarn and hook. I wanted something super soft, light, and breathable, so I went with L&T Silky Soft cause it’s made from bamboo. It recommends a 4mm hook and I definitely underestimated how much of a difference it would be… the skeins are so much smaller than I expected 😭 Will I still be able to make a decent sized throw blanket for my couch without having to buy tons more? I’ll also take any tips on working with yarn this thin, it’s so finicky! lol

This is only my first day actively trying to crochet. My goal was to just make a square of sc stitches and it turned into a triangle. I’m aware I must be skipping a stitch in each row but very unsure of how to fix this as I swear when I was doing it i felt like it was right until it was obviously not LOL I kept going just cause it’s only practice anyway and I can laugh at it 🤣🤣

Well i broke up with my girlfriend some time ago, which is big pitty but now I can happily focus on crocheting for myself :).

I've been looking for shirt patterns but struggle to find something i'd like for me, i'd enjoy something with a complex/elegant texture, in idea alike the first photo but more complex and less ''filet-crochet-like'', any recommendations for concrete free/paid patterns and/or where to find them?

Aswell i'd like to find a pattern for a shirt that is homogenous from top to bottom, in the sense that i could use a gradient yarn like on the second photo and that the colors wouldn't be disected onto different parts and pannels.

How can I make the stitches more defined? I feel as though it looks muddy. I have tried the waistcoat stitch but it makes the design slanted. Any tips would be super appreciated!!

I’m not too upset about it. I don’t care enough to frog all the way back to who knows WHERE in the pattern (cuz I kinda have a deadline on this for the end of the month and it took weeks to get here and I cannot afford to go all the way back). First pic is very early in my work and the second pic is later rounds (on round 24 and I estimate I need to do 30 rounds to complete it)

According to what I have looked up already: this is because I’m increasing off center. For every round according the pattern I watched, I am going to add one more DC stitch before a peak or valley as I go around the entire project. (Last round was 23 DCs before a peak/valley, so this round is 24)

As you can see, there's a big difference in the color, and i was thinking, if I would be able to dye my whole project once i'm done?

I'm making shorts from 100% cotton yarn.

Please let me know if any additional angles of my project or anymore of the pattern will help! But in all my years of absolutely loving this hobby I have NEVER come across a pattern thats left me fully stumped. Even when I do get confused I can usually just fudge through it and it always works out but THIS PATTERN OMFG. I am on like week two of just trying to continue this section. 😭😭

This is a Megan Lapp pattern for a unicorn and I love her pattern books so much! The text in the blue square in the first photo is where im confused I have followed the instruction word for word but it’s a little vague for me which feels awful to admit. Every time I get the leg attached to the piece thats meant to be the belly the seam that’s meant to face inside the plushie always ends up facing on the out/right side of it and the following directions on the next page make placing the next stitches into where also very complicated.
If you’ve ever done this pattern or something similar I am desperate for some guidance!
