❓Howto Help please
Hey guys hope everyone is having a great day. I'm trying to set up crypto and am running into some huge issues. I was told to download a wallet (exodus) which i have done and set up, only to find out that I can't use it in my state. I have robinhood set up and have purchased a little over 700 USDC as that is the currency accepted by the store I'm trying to make a purchase with. I was told that I also needed to buy like $5 worth of solana to pay for gas, so I did that as well. I am trying to fund my purchases with money that is in my Venmo and Cash app accounts.
I believe I have accomplished this as i have the sum of my two transfers available in robinhood, which i used to purchase USDC. However, my Venmo and Cash app accounts still show the money as being in their respective accounts. I'm assuming that the money just hasnt been taken out yet and that RH is giving me the funds to use immediately as a courtesy. Please correct me if I am wrong in this thinking.
My issue is now that I don't know if I can spend the USDC in RH or if I am able to transfer it to a wallet. If I can put it in a wallet does anyone have a suggestion on one that can be used in NY? As exodus is apparently not allowed to operate here.

Phantom has Robinhood chain, Robinhood also has their own wallet

Robinhoods wallet is in the regular app or another? Also what's wrong with exodus?

Exodus been hacked like 100 times
You need to download Robinhood wallet on the App Store, diff app. Phantom Wallet also has Robinhood support

Please dont jump into crypto without reading whwt are scams, how to transfer and transact using crypto. What sre fake wallets and website. In the end if you dont know what your going into or using youll end up getting scammed out of your money.

I really only intend to use it to purchase with a single vendor. I felt like I had a decent understanding of how it works but didn't realize that my state gives extra hoops to jump through

The way you discribed your original post is kinda sketchey if you ask me. Vendor asking you to pay with usdc and solana. You can transfer usdc rigth away to a wallet sounds like someone is trying to scam you. You can move usdc on different chains that supports it and the fee will auto deduct from the amount you send. Which is minor. But seller asking you to buy solana for the gas. If you ask me sounds sketchy.

Ive purchased from them dozens of times using other payment methods, crypto just saves me 10% qnd allows me access to other sellers.

Appreciate it very much. Its for my research chemicals company and since I dont charge a huge markup like most other US sellers i could really use that extra 10% savings

LLMs are often kinda dumb... but when it comes to recognising scams... They are better than you will ever be.
Any DMs you got are scammers, consider using something like Deepseek or Gemini... Just don't share your seed, even to the LLM. You're never too safe with your seed.

I’m sorry but it sounds like you are being scammed. Why would you have to purchase crypto to get gas?
