Half the airport is being used by one country
Ercan is probably the only airport that services a single country more than Paphos/larnaca and that’s due to international law

Hey everyone,
Regarding these common posts such as: “what to do in Nicosia, what to do in ….” or other real estate and common tourist questions that can be easily looked up and have been answered before.
Please just report the post and do not engage in the comments, if you think the post should be removed. When there are multiple reports on a post, we receive a notification and can deal with them on a case by case basis. When you engage and start discussions we are more hesitant to remove the post as you all invested your time for a response and it would be counterproductive to remove them. At least thats what I would think.
If you have different suggestions on this topic let us know.

Admin: Another hero.
Social media is talking about this young man. I have seen some posts by people I know who knew him well.
20‑year‑old Süleyman Erdoğan first tried to evacuate people and rescued two little girls.
His sister explained that he saw the children as he was leaving the ship, told his friend to wait, and carried one to safety. While trying to save the second, the vessel began to sink completely. With the child in his arms, he asked someone nearby to take her out.
Since then, there has been no news of him.

Hi everyone!
I’ve recently gotten into golf and would like to practice my game a bit more. Most of the golf classes/groups organized by the different clubs run during office hours, which I cant make unfortunately.
If there are any other beginner ladies (to clarify i am also a lady), I would love to get together and play. My closest club is Limassol Greens but I can make the drive to Paphos too.

Hi everyone! Where’s the best place to go in Limassol on a Tuesday after midnight? Which club or lounge would you recommend?

If that’s you, or you know someone, feel free to comment or DM me — would love to hear what you do, where you’re based, and how you usually take on private bookings.

We live in the area of Nicosia close to the Green Line and the commercial planes currently flightinh in and out of Ercan airport are passing over our houses and littersly our whole buildings can feel them. I don't really care if it is for a small amount of time but has anyone heard anything about theis or when will it end?
I assumed Turkey has some military excercise in the north that stops the commercial planes from flying from thei usual route?
Couldn't find anything recent online

Dear people.
Going to stay in your beautiful island for a little over a month.
Is there any way to rent a car without it being 1000 euros?
I love the Achaios Shipwreck and would like to write about it in a travel blog.
Unfortunately, I have not been to Cyprus or had the chance to travel there yet.
Please may I use someone's photos of the shipwreck? Of course I can mention your name as credit!
I would really appreciate it, as there are not many good photos on the internet nor photos with creative commons..
Thank you in advance!

Doesn't matter how much relief offered but the act by it self is legendary because no one even the responsible autorities offered anything till now.
Kudos to the legendary Cypriot.

So I found a full elephant tusk in my grandfather’s basement. It’s definitely real and from what I know it has been there for many years.
I honestly don’t want to keep it, so I’m trying to figure out what I can legally do with it. Ideally I’d like to sell it if that’s possible, but I know there are laws around ivory.
I’m in Cyprus. I don’t have any documents for it and I have no idea exactly how old it is.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Is there somewhere I can take it to get it dated/certified and find out if it can legally be sold?
Not trying to sell it here, just looking for advice on what my options are.

Read a few posts on here and it seems the sentiment is things are too expensive for locals here to be going out during the week, unfortunately i am here for the first time during the week and would like to be somewhere with a bit of noise 😂
Any suggestions at all? Don’t mind getting a taxi or whatever, I’m by myself, just wondering is there anywhere that’ll have a few people around, tourists or not?

Basically what is the title says. I don’t want to breach the law in any way and don’t wanna mess with VPN’s if I don’t have to.

work remotely and usually end up at Gloria Jean’s, so I’m looking for other places in Limassol to work and meet people. Open to coworking spaces, cafés or anything similar. Any recommendations?

8 people have died and 20 are still missing off Kyrenia.
I’m genuinely wondering: where are the condolences from our public figures and influencers? Is this tragedy somehow less tragic because it happened on the “other side”?
Whatever our religion, nationality or politics, we should all feel this loss. These were someone’s children, parents, partners and friends. They died right next to us.
We can argue about Cyprus tomorrow. Today, perhaps we can simply remember that the people who died were human beings first.

Is anyone going to this party this weekend? or do you know what type of party will it be? Is there jumping in pools or just a normal party?

I used to use apple maps but for last couple of years they dont show directions anymore for some reason. Is there anyone in Cyprus having the same issue or not having this issue??
