"Jack" - Warren Muzak 2026 11" x 14" Bristol Paper
"Jack" started out as a doodle to keep myself awake during a *yawn* meeting at work.
I decided to do a finished piece to play around with watered down ink and brush. "Jack" 11 x 14 graphite, pen and ink, brush and ink, and charcoal on Bristol paper. It didn't change too much from the original doodle.

Hades and Persephone, by Sandara
Hades, the god of the underworld, kidnapped Persephone, the goddess of spring, to be his queen with Zeus's permission. Distraught over her daughter's disappearance, Demeter, the goddess of the harvest, let the crops die and caused a world famine. To save humanity, Zeus forced Hades to send Persephone back. Because Persephone ate a few pomegranate seeds during her stay, she could not leave forever and had to return to the underworld for part of every year. This ancient myth explains the changing seasons: spring and summer come when Persephone reunites with her mother, while autumn and winter arrive when she goes back to rule beside Hades.

The Empyrean by Gustave Doré (1867) — Paradiso, Canto XXXI
Into the light When you are alone I am there No blade can cut me No fire will burn me I will not speak I will not touch you You are not alone A breath away is my hand To take or ignore You are not alone Not anymore
