Even without AI, art has never been financially viable for the vast majority of people. And once money enters the equation, a lot of art gets compromised. We’ve all seen the pattern: people start making art for a living, only to end up hating the very thing they used to love.

That’s also why so many artists leave major companies and go independent. But even as an indie creator, the pressure of production costs is very real. Which is why you sometimes get the absurd spectacle of artists loudly opposing AI while using generative AI to help them code their own projects.

AI can drive production costs down dramatically and give people the freedom to create without constantly worrying about whether their art will pay the bills.

No more gatekeeping. No more crushing financial pressure just to make something.

And if you’re a 17-year-old aspiring DeviantArt warrior about to reply, “But artists deserve to get paid,” consider this first:

AI or no AI, you probably weren’t going to be able to make art your full-time career anyway.

The crayons are horribly made and also just like you said, weak. There’s no way a single soul can draw with those, and also that was just a video of someone flipping their sketchbook full of crayon drawings, with “I use ai because I can’t draw” in the text to gain more traction.

Crayons are an effective way of drawing, however these types of videos are just used with that pink text to mock and belittle those who choose to use ai

Instead of endlessly arguing over what is or isn’t art, let’s embrace the many tools people use to express themselves and create together. Pencils and paintbrushes, tablets and software, cameras and AI. . . All can help turn an idea into something meaningful! Creativity should bring us together, not become an excuse for fighting, bullying, or shaming people for how they choose to create.

Someone who creates with AI is still a creative. They are just someone ne who happens to use AI as part of their process. Their work reflects their ideas, choices, imagination, and growing technical skills. AI doesn’t erase the person behind the creation; it becomes another tool through which that person can explore and share what lives inside them.

You don’t have to enjoy AI, use it yourself, or agree with every claim made about it. You may believe it is lazy, soulless, or unethical. . . But those beliefs do not justify attacking or harassing the people who use it. Let artists and creatives choose the tools that work for them, and let’s focus on making, learning, and having fun together. Live and let live.

My post was removed in a rude way! I am a composer and live from creativity. Who are you to judge? The character design and songs are all real. I just used AI to get him alive. You also need creativity to use AI the right way. Its something that belongs to this time. How about those freeloaders listening to music for free online! I understand the hate of AI, but how could you sit at the desk one day and think, "Man, I should make a mod in Minecraft where you can KILL an AI-modified chibi character from Arknights that screams or cries a BABY voice when being hurt!"

Maybe it's not writing in the traditional sense but it is storytelling. All stories were oral long before anything was ever written.

People said cameras would take away painting. It didn't.

People said the recorder would ruin live music. It didn't.

Every time new technology comes along, the game changes but art is in our human DNA. Every village had a storyteller, an artist and a musician.

When they shit out that fuckass "your ai slop bores me" image a million times they are right and just and good, but when a game developer who is at the receiving end of the relentless onslaught of whining claps back on it, suddenly he is wrong and wicked and bad.
