Announcement The purpose of this subreddit

Hello everyone! You may have noticed some major changes happening to this subreddit, and I'm happy to say that /r/DiagnoseMe is finally ready for business. However, I would like to clarify the true purpose of this subreddit;

First of all, this subreddit is NOT a replacement for a doctor. You should not, in any way, avoid seeing your doctor or alter the frequency of your doctor visits because of anything said in this subreddit. If there is a concern you would have previously gone to the doctor for, please do not hesitate. This subreddit is here for informal second opinions, minor problems that you wouldn't go to the doctor for anyway, and ease of mind.

The main thing to remember is to use common sense. If you are having severe pain after a surgery or something of the likes, please go to the doctor and do not post it on Reddit.

If you are not a doctor and are posting with information, please clarify that you are not a doctor (typing "Not a doctor," at the beginning of your comment is enough.)

Please take the time to read the sidebar before posting. Thank you, and welcome!

Got some turf burn playing soccer on Sunday. It bled a bunch during /after the game. Eventually washed it out I got home and put some Neosporin on it. The day after I put on a hydrocolloid bandage on it and I felt it leaking all day and night. Today when I took it off the wound looked like this? Is this hydrocolloid fluid or pus from an infection? Trying to figure out if I should get it checked out ASAP

24F, 5”4 117lbs. Is this discharge? spotting? tissue? or something else? a week ago i got put on the suspected colorectal cancer pathway cause i had a really high fit test changes in stool weight loss low iron and fatigue, and then ive been having changes to my period too, so my cycles got quite long with spotting in the middle that was followed by pelvic pressure in the last two weeks of cycle and this started a few months ago.

i assumed the spotting was ovulation even though i’ve never had it before but then i started bleeding black/dark brown blood a week after my last period ended and that lasted 7 days and around the time the bleeding started i got this rectum/hip pain on left side. then the bleeding stopped for a day and then after a day i started spotting like discharge that was red/brown similar to this photo. then yesterday afternoon I started getting a sharp pain on my left side i think my left ovary which lasted an hour probably 3-4/10 pain but quite sharp and distinct.

Ever since, I’ve felt quite bloated and had general cramping feelings. Then today in the shower i noticed this. It was about 7cm. It’s similar to the discharge? i’ve been having. I’ve had mild PMOS for years but i’ve never experienced anything like this before.

There’s no chance i could be pregnant or have an std.

Went to see my doctor today. She drew some blood & it turns out I do NOT have HIV despite the smalls lines in the "T" column & everybody on reddit telling me "iTs uH pOsItIve rEsUlT". Well it wasn't!

Doc also told me that these tests give out false positives all the time & that I'm good! So just for future reference, Oraquick is not accurate. I repeat ORAQUICK is NOT accurate. Thank you 😀

Family history of melanoma and I have had bad sunburns in the past. The mole has a lighter coloured border around the main darker center which seems new.

Injury and accidents Marathon training hip flexor injury?

Upvotes

Hip flexor area pain but only after and day after runs, no pain while running. Random lunge stretches or movements create intense sharp pain. However, feel subtle pain in it at all times. Doesn’t hurt directly while running. No idea what to do or what’s wrong

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth Had a pimple with multiple heads on the corner of my lip, clear as well as a thicker yellow fluid came out after it burst. Figured it's just acne but now worried it might be herpes, as it looks suspicious after popping.

Skin and nails Mole color change?

Hi,

I am a 31/F and I found this mole on my stomach this morning. It doesn't hurt and it's raised, completely black. I made a derm appointment for Thursday, but I just can't stop thinking about it.

I really hope it's benign, I frequented the pool this summer and used spray sunscreen.

My mom just had a mole removed 2 years ago and it was melanoma but caught early, so it seems to run in the family. Anyone have advice? Thank you 🥲

Skin and nails What is this? Weird lump in my belly button

20 M, never had health issues. I don’t take meds besides sertraline and a mood stabilizer.

I noticed this lump today. The area around hurt when I pressed on it a few days ago and now it got worse. I don’t think it’s an hernia since I haven’t lifted any weight or anything like that.

I have this red spot on my face, It's getting bigger. My husband got annoyed and brushed me off when I said "what if it's skin cancer?", so I'm not bringing it up with him again. Maybe someone could tell me what they think? I'd really appreciate it. It looks kinda like a pimple but it's definitely not

Bones, joints, and muscles Chronic knee pain started within the last few weeks, is there anything specific I should do?

Hi! F15 (almost 16), 5’4, no smoking or medications. I can’t really go to a doctor right now because my parental situation is iffy at best (my mother is bipolar and heavily religious, refuses to go to the doc for anything that isn’t obviously life threatening.. I had food poisoning (?) and was dry heaving and unable to get out of bed for like a week with no food a few months back and she never took me to the doc lol, I digress) , I was supposed to have my ‘yearly check-up’ last month and she suddenly canceled it, saying that she didn’t like that doctor and would find a new one if we “wanted” a check-up.

Restless legs runs in my family (my dad and my uncle used to complain they couldn’t watch movies because they always had to get up in the middle and walk around), and for the last 6 months or so I’ve been having stereotypical restless leg symptoms (constant urge to move my legs when laying down/at night, general leg uncomfortability. Gets worse if I take Benadryl.) I brushed it off because I knew it was normal for my fam, and then the symptoms changed to being during the day, including if I’m just standing and only being fixed if I extend my legs ALL the way until tense or if I stretch them. In the last couple of weeks, though, it’s just morphed into a chronic dull pain in my knees that comes and goes throughout the day, but it’s there more than it’s not. Still consistently worse at night, but that could be because I’m not focused on other things.

It got bad enough tonight that I was sitting on the couch and both of my knees had that throbbing feeling in them.

Just to give more context to help figure out what it may be — I’ve been pretty depressed recently and haven’t done virtually any physical exercise (my ‘average’ steps for the last week is at 900, with 3 days being under 600.) my knees also have always been shaky when going up/down stairs, but that’s not a sudden thing and has never led to a fall or anything other than my friends asking if I’m alright.

Does anyone have any ideas for what this could be?

Still consistently worse at night, but that could be because I’m not focused on other things. It got bad enough tonight that I was sitting on the couch and both of my knees had that throbbing feeling in them.

I got up to use the bathroom, and when I did my lower back spasmed/cramped for a solid 15 seconds, forcing me to lean over slightly and obviously causing some pain. Now my back is also experiencing the dull pain and spasms again if I move around too much or bend the wrong way. Unsure if this is linked to the knee thing, but they’re both happening at the same time so I figured it was good to mention.

Just to give more context to help figure out what it may be — I do get heavy back pain when I’m on my cycle, but I’m not at the moment and am over a week until it starts. When I get body aches from being sick I also get knee and back pain, so I guess I’m just very prone to it. I’ve been pretty depressed recently and haven’t done virtually any physical exercise (my ‘average’ steps for the last week is at 900, with 3 days being under 600.) my knees also have always been shaky when going up/down stairs, but that’s not a sudden thing and has never led to a fall or anything other than my friends asking if I’m alright.

Does anyone have any ideas for what this could be and if my back/knee pains are linked?

Is this a mild seizure in my sleep

I always wake up with a headache and have weird dreams, but this one was so vivid that I thought it was November and I was in New York City, in school. I thought I had dissociated for the entire vacation — until I woke up and realized it’s still August. I don’t think it’s a seizure, since I can remember it clearly.

Abdominal pain

This is the second time in 4 months where I've had abdominal pain. Right below solar plexus. Nothing is showing on CT or Ultra sound and bloodwork is fine. Dizzy and mild fever accompanied with the pain. Mild constipation as well. Can pass gas. Stool is in clumps hard grape sized. Neither passing of either lowers symptoms. Using pantoprazole but not fixing the issue.
