I’m just interested in how they gonna handle it if we gonna see rdj’s face, like they won’t just pretend he doesn’t look exactly like tony stark will they? If we don’t see doom’s face at all, who cares

Oh we're gonna see his face. It's gonna happen around halfway through the film. Everyone is gonna be like

If it isn’t addressed then the whole thing will be stupid.

u/ThatOldCow 16h ago

They will make a stupid joke like : "you look familiar, have we met before?"

u/fordr015 17h ago

It'll have to be

u/kitten_orchestra 1d ago

Maybe they’ll pretend like they just look similar, à la Julia Roberts in Oceans Twelve.

Wait the MCU has introduced Doom? What movie(s)?

Edit: Nevermind I looked it up.

With Deadpool and Wolverine Chris Evans also had two roles in the MCU!

That being said, I don't think this meme will get old. Was great when they did a commercial with it. Always impressive when an actor talks to themselves.

Chris Evans was in fantastic 4 way before Deadpool and wolverine

u/MuchMasterpiece1710 1d ago

Yes but it wasn’t part of the MCU

It is now

Josh Brolin is also both Thanos and Cable.

u/imarkb 1d ago

Also Lisa Cardinelli (Laura Barton and Lylla)

u/demonsver 1d ago

Well... One of them isn't a physical likeness....

It's because RDJ is black

'What do YOU mean, "You people?"'

This joke gets funnier and funnier every time it isn’t posted.

To me it just screams Marvel trying to reclaim relevance

u/Maxwellcomics 1d ago

I’m mostly mad because Mads Mikkelsen would have been a perfect Doom.

I had to double take that post, just realised it was the Dundermifflin sub!

My God can we stop with this shit

u/HeiressOfMadrigal 1d ago

Isn't the whole gimmick that they're acting like he's playing OG Doctor Doom, but he's actually going to play Tony Stark, who becomes the MCU's Doctor Doom?

2

u/ohyousoretro 16h ago

According to the plot leaks for the past year: Tony from 616 is actually a Doom variant, which is why they look the same

2

u/prostipope 1d ago

I thought that was Pauly Shore

This cracked me UP!

Michael B. Jordan has entered the chat

That FANT4STIC movie isn’t really an MCU project but with the multiverse you could argue anything marvel related is canon.

Didn't Jim talk to Jim at some point?

1

u/zhulkgr25 1d ago

Chris evans human torch/cap, mahershalla ali cottonmouth/blade, thanos/cabel, who else am I forgetting?

3

u/Psychological_Ad4683 1d ago

Bit of a stretch but Russell Crowe. Zeus and Kraven's dad. Stretch because Kraven is Sony verse, but so is Venom who was pulled into the MCU by Strange's spell.

Gemma Chan Minn-Erva/Sersi is probably biggest example of playing 2 characters in Disney MCU films ( before RDJ) and it was just 2 years apart.

Alfre Woodard Mariah Dillard/Miriam Sharp

1

u/zhulkgr25 22h ago

Stokes! Lol but seriously I know Sersi was in eternals what's the other movie?

And what other movie was Mariah in?

1

u/GhandisFlipFlop 20h ago

She was in Captain Marvel two years before Eternals, but she played a Kree so her appearance was a lot different. Google her name and Captain Marvel to see.

Alfre Willard had a small appearance in Civil War but years before that she had a big role in all seasons I think of Luke Cage show on Netflix.

1

u/zhulkgr25 20h ago

I have seen luke cage. Never noticed her in civil war. Also I remember, the guy who plays Souza in Agent Carter is a cop in the 2012 Avengers

1

u/GhandisFlipFlop 20h ago

She confronts Tony Stark at the very start of movie saying her Son was killed in Sokovia, he was doing a student exchange program there ..

Ah yes good shout, it was great in Agents of Shields last season where he came back playing Agent Souza again.

1

u/zhulkgr25 20h ago

Yeah I loved that. Cause in 2018 people said that Steve going back to Peggy meant Agents of shield was no longer canon and I love how that corrects it, and it's awesome that he became Daisy's love interest. She deserves a good guy after what happened with Ward.

"Thank you for not seeing race"

😲

u/Xyrazk 1d ago

Isn't there a story where Dr Dool becomes Tony Stark? Maybe that's what is going to happen in Doomsday

1

u/Paddy32 16h ago

Hi I'm not familiar with the super heroes movies, but didn't Ironman die ? What will captain america and thor say when they see him under the mask of the Doom villain ? I mean Dr Doom. Won't they recognize him ?

u/New-Pin-9064 14m ago

Those are 2 separate actors. John Krasinski and Randall Park

1

u/Smooth_You_2244 1d ago

Reed's not Asian

3

u/snacks4ever 1d ago

You seriously never noticed? hey, hats off to you for not seeing race

3

u/Smooth_You_2244 1d ago

All right, then. Why don't you tell me about the Witch that visit your Earth

u/FroggyOggyOggy 1d ago

They're the same picture.

This joke never gets old!

u/ITrCool IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE, JIM!! 1d ago

The MCU was done for me when Stark died. Period. I haven't seen a Marvel film since then. (Aside from Deadpool and Wolverine)

That being said, I'd LOVE to see Krazinski get a F4 role or some sort of principal role (besides a small cameo) in the MCU in the future. That's one film I'd make an exception for.

I enjoyed thenjokenbut to be lame and serious:

Probably cus rdj was used simply to stroke interest in the dying marvel universe. No reason to cast him at all..
