I came across this track from the upcoming Spectral Vision album, and thought to share it here. Really cool stuff. Set to be released this Friday, on September 4th.

Salutations to all. This is Mövendorf.

I make much music, but most of it is sitting around gathering dust on hard drives and old laptops. Since joining this community properly – no longer merely lurking, but contributing – I have felt compelled to release it all. It is dark and distorted, dank and dirge-y, and summons (I hope I got the spell right) old castles, ghosts, mythical monsters, imagined continents, landscapes ripe for questing.

Clicking around, I discovered that I had actually put something out (is it a demo? is it finished? who knows) several years ago on Soundcloud. The description says "variation on a theme of hole dweller" and I suppose it is, taking the melody, albeit off-key, from 'With Dreams of Adventure, I Smoke from My Longpipe Beneath the Stars by' and tinkering with it to see what happened. It's crunchy, noisy and fun.

Anyway, with that said, I am throwing out this morsel of music for your listening experience. I hope that you find it interesting or enjoy it to some degree. Thank you!

Another spell from the sleepy wizard, this time assisted by my friend Metrognome!

This track is meant as the first in a series of sort-of-30 minute drone/ambient tracks that will represent casting different ritual spells, and what better way to start than by getting sleepy? Using a series of different-lengthed loops, the track is designed to be steady yet ever-changing, lulling even the most fierce warlord into a dreamful state.

The track is free and available for anyone to fall asleep to, and I hope that you find it calming on your journeys. Enjoy!

I was messing around in FlowScape, this chill landscape making game that's been on Steam for awhile. All you do is just build landscapes, it's very calming. Lately I've been messing around with castles and stuff, seeing if I could make something like DS album art in the engine. This is what I've been doing lately!

Another modest little creation, this time experimenting with 3D. I’m definitely less skilled with it than I am with drawing, but Dungeon Synth is still incredibly inspiring to me visually. Played around with VHS effects, datamoshing and intentional glitches. I thought some of you here might like it.

I am hoping someone from this community can help me. There was a synth album, that teetered on the border of dungeon synth, that used to be on YouTube, but I can no longer find it. It was recommended to me after having listened to some Depressive Silence music. It did not have a ton of views (less than 5,000 or so) and I believe it was from a European artist (maybe French or German?) The music itself kind of fit into the realm of dungeon synth. There were no lyrics, but there was a song or two that had voices that sounded to come from a synthesizer. It was probably 70-80 minutes in length.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I’ve been trying tirelessly to find the album, but I can’t find it now.

I mentioned Lookfar (the DS moniker of Louie Zong) in a comment earlier, and that reminded me that I had yet to post this here.

His latest song is called 'Stinky Tofu' and it appears on a compilation album inspired by tofu. It's very cool, really gloopy and clanky sounds – very dungeon synth, aesthetically – but I am curious to know whether people here would class it as dungeon synth. I think intent is pretty strong within the genre, so when a DS artist strays outside of the fantasy mythos and makes something thematically (and visually) non-dungeon-adjacent, but which still sounds like dungeon synth, is it dungeon synth?
