Self-Promo Mastering

Orko Productions is now offering mastering services again, with a stronger setup, more experience, and a deeper understanding of underground music.

The focus is especially on Dungeon Synth, Dark Ambient, Atmospheric Black Metal, Medieval/Folk-influenced projects and related styles, with mastering approached carefully around the character and atmosphere of each release rather than forcing everything into the same sound.

Singles, EPs and full-length albums are all welcome.

For rates, availability or any questions, feel free to message us directly.

This is great, we definitely need more people working on the mix/mastering side of this world. (Though there are some great people already!)

Would love to hear about your process. What outboard gear and plug-ins are you using?

Do you know of any artists looking for mixing/mastering of their work? Feel free to send a chat.

My process is mainly hybrid, combining carefully selected analogue outboard gear with a range of professional digital tools. The exact chain changes from project to project, as I prefer to work around the character and needs of each mix rather than rely on one fixed setup. My main focus is always to preserve the atmosphere and dynamics while giving the final master clarity, depth and a bit of colour where it suits the music.

Yes, that sounds great! Im also interested in your process as well. Coming from someone who mainly mixes and master their own work, I'm curious about any particular plugins you like to use that help you streamline the process or that you think help the overall tone of whatever music you're working on. I'm quite fond of the Klanghelm IVGI saturator lately.

I have been wondering if there were mastering folks out there that are more specific to the genre

Yep! Hoarfrost does a great job, as well as Vandal Mastering. Both of them specialize (but are not limited) to the Genre. Check them out!
