Discussion Partner commanders
Newer player here. I’ve just gotten into the idea of experimenting with some decks that use partner commanders. I really want to run a deck with some uncommon / lesser used or seen partners.
I’ve already brewed up a [[Akiri, Line-Slinger]] deck with [[Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder]] as a partner. Essentially Bruse gives Akiri double strike & lifelink and Akiri plays as an equipment / artifact voltron.
I’m pretty happy with this pairing as there are only 123 decks on edhrec that use this commander pairing. Have any of you found any other interesting commander partnering that don’t see much play together? I don’t want the same usual pairings that others run, looking for something fun and unique that you’ve found

My favorite partner pair is [[Akiri Line-slinger]] paired with [[Francisco, Fowl Marauder]] with [[Lurrus]] as companion. You can really build it at any power level and it can be super fun.

My favorite card though, and the reason I build the deck is [[Vault 21: House Gambit]]. I love just showing a full house of 1s and 2s then dumping my hand with a bunch of extra treasures.
Edit to add: This is definitely a proxy/online friendly list, if I were actually building it in paper I'd build it much differently lol

Newer player looking at Partner? Have I got the perfect list for you: [[Gilanra, Caller of Wildwood]]+[[Sengir, the Dark Baron]]. Ramp in the Command Zone, flexible wipes, and a straightforward endgame that still manages to be flashy.
Essentially, you hand out tokens, blow them up, get Sengir massive, and flex into a combat wincon from there. The cool bit is that the deck makes great use of a lot of 'when an opponent loses the game' effects, which tends to accelerate your threat once someone is eliminated.

I haven't built it yet but I think some combo of [[ghost of Ramirez de Pierto]], [[keskit, the flesh sculptor]] [[armix, filigree thrasher]], and [[rebbec, architect of ascension]]. I think my favorite combos of these are ramirez and armix, armix and keskit, and rebbec and armix.
Rebbec and armix really stand out to me as an interesting commander duo, as it pushes you toward artifact creatures and interaction as well as control with armix's ability. I just wish it had blue for stuff like [[Magister sphinx]] but that makes it more exciting I suppose. You could probably set this up as a millennium calendar deck, accruing value, getting artifacts on the field of each mana cost, having some bombs you can discard to kill big creatures with armix, and all you really have to worry about is finding ways to protect rebbec. You could always turn him into an artifact with [[liquimetal torque]] [[liquimetal coating]] or [[ashnods transmogrant]].
You could also go the combat route since your artifact creatures couldn't be blocked. Artifact lands or baubles would be good so you get protection from tokens as well. Whatever is most interesting to you. Most people don't like not being able to interact however.

I run [[The War Doctor]] and [[Clara]] as a Naya deck.
According to Edhrec that color pairing only has 203 decks.
It's a pretty fun exile matters deck that plans to use both commanders to knock out 1-2 players in a single attack.

I don't generally like decks that pivot entirely around the commander(s) because I like resiliency and having a single card be my lynchpin makes me liable to getting blown out by removal. Therefore I tend to treat partners more like two bonus cards that fit nicely into my curve but are not definite must haves.
I have been having quite a lot of fun with my Simic Tron deck, where i used [[Esior, Wardwing Familiar]] and [[Anara, Wolvid Familiar]] as my commanders, essentially just two hard to remove blockers that help me survive early game to bridge into an unstoppable late game of bomb after bomb with big mana.
I also recently brewed a [[Wernog, Rider's Chaplain]] and [[Sophina, Spearsage Deserter]] Detective tribal deck, where I use my commanders and other detectives to create large amounts of Clue tokens which fuel my artifact and sacrifice synergy engines.

I’ve brewed Wernog and [[Bjorna, Nightfall Alchemist]] before but kinda just used him as a pinger. I didn’t really make much use of the clues for anything besides incidental draw when I have mana up. What sac outlets are you using for value?
Edit: simic invincible commanders as blockers while you scale is absolutely genius I might steal that

[[Reyhan, Last of the Abazn]] is a very interesting engine piece. Most people go with direct +1/+1 counter synergy, but I think [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] would be pretty viable.
It's unconventional going monocolored with partner commanders, but I also think [[Alena, Kessig Trapper]] plus [[Dargo, the Shipwrecker]] would be extremely explosive.

You could be [[Toggo]] & [[Ardenn]s 380th deck.
Play a land. Make a rock. Ardenn can force anyone ro juggle them as cards like [[All that Glitters]] give 1/1 per rock.
[[Inspiring Statuary]] uses them as mana rocks.
[[Basilisk Collar]] effectively gives the rock deathtouch.
[[Skullclamp]] opponents creatures with Ardenn to draw cards.
Gift [[Cloudsteel Kirin]] and hit for lethal. Make a player a hostage.
Is it the best? No. But hey it only takes 3 rocks to kill Niv Mizzet.

My underplayed partner combo is [[Francisco, Fowl Marauder]] and [[Ghost of Ramirez DePietro]]. They’re both pirates, so Francisco benefits (exploring), and Ramirez can use the cards out into the graveyard from the explore triggers. So the synergy is nice. But mostly I use them to support [[Throne of the Grim Captain]] as a secret commander.

I made [[Alisaie Leveilleur]] + [[Alphinaud Leveilleur]] tokens.
They are a pretty open strategy pairing. One discounts second spells and the other draws cards for second spells. Play whatever you want that can capitalize on that.
