I got the tarnished edition for the Switch 2 after playing on PC since launch. Invasions do not seem to be working for me (Varre's quest). I am trying the both near and far option perform matchmaking, send summon sign as Disable, and play online for the launch setting. I see messages and phantoms, but trying to invade just flashes the attempting to invade message without ever actually invading.
I seem to remember some message/setting about online play when I either bought or opened the game, but I don't remember where it was (was late at night 😊) and cannot find anything in the switch, Nintendo switch online, or the game. Does anyone know if there is a setting that would cause invasions to never connect?

I played Elden Ring as my first soulslike, then I went and played the Dark Souls trilogy. I've played Elden Ring and DS3 numerous times over the years and just rediscovered that I can heal and move. Ever since playing DS1, I haven't healed and moved at the same time because I forgot I could do that. I'm so crushed right now; so many deaths could have been avoided.

I’ve played through elden ring plenty of times, but this time I really wanted to learn bosses, and I am in sheer awe at how different it feels. Malenia is probably the most fun i’ve had in a single boss, and it wasn’t even my first time fighting her. I really tried to learn her moveset. I did use multiplayer, so i think my next run I’ll leave it all up to my own skill, but I don’t think I ever had such a rush from not even fully dodging an attack. Now that I’m really learning bosses, I feel like I’m truly forming MY own opinions, not just repeating things that I heard about other bosses. I know it all sounds stupid but I feel like this is actually teaching me that failing isn’t the end and to not give up, which is something I’ve struggled alot with.
Also, I just added the video because I’m genuinely so proud of it but i have noone to share it with
And yes, it was some panic dodging but it still really gives me hope that I can learn more and get better

This project languished for a while, recently got the muse to complete it! Made it using just the inventory image for reference in the background, no AI, made to be functional as a flower vase or drinking vessel. I have an idea to do something cool with the Physick Tears as well, but that's for another time.
I'll publish it somewhere soon once I wrap up some other projects, it's far from as pretty as it could be in the hands of a professional but for I'm pretty proud of it and, most of all, I am so glad to have it done and ready to print as gifts to my Elden Ring D&D players for their upcoming battle with the final boss of the game that brought us together.

I know this is super weird and probably makes me look like a baby, but I can't help but feel bad when killing the sleeping dragon in Caelid. I'm level 101 on my first playthrough and have not killed it so far. The only reason I'm bringing this up is that I'm stuck on levels, and I was wondering if anyone knew what some good ways to grind levels in the mid-game are without killing the dragon. Also, oops, but I killed the guy that gives you the quest for the palace grind, and I don't know it theres another way to get there, but so far I've found nothing. I am also just terrible at video games in general, so I will have to overlevel in order to kill bosses and progress, and I'm feeling like I'm at a state in the game where I need to get stronger in some way or another because I'm just dying too much.
Edit: Thank you all so much. When I play a game, I try to put as much real thought into actions as I can and not just see the entire game as a min-maxing challenge. I am still taking suggestions on where to farm runes tho. Thank you all so much.

I’ve been struggling with the putrid tree avatar near the Elphael Inner Wall site of grace and I’m done with it so I was wondering if y’all got some one shot builds for me so I can just kill it from behind

This is my favorite look Ive ever put on, I have few other fashion sets that I like. What are your favorite combos? This is the death knight helmet, gauntlets and greaves with the divine bird warrior armor.

I've seen videos where players demonstrate how to stand on breakable objects, but it looks like it takes some skill. That's not may main question, though.
I swear I recently saw a video where the player put on wearable item, either a bit of clothing or a talisman, then he proceeded to climb right up a barrel and a box, and straight up onto a castle wall he should not have been able to reach. It was not a glitch or a cheat.
I can't find that video again. Does anyone know what I saw?

Here is my Elden Ring character on xbox, playstation, and now switch. This is my version of Britney, who loves to parry and eat crab. I have multiple characters of Britney at different levels so she can hang out with everyone! When I say hangout, I really mean honorably invade! So if you are on any system other than PC, be careful when inviting friends! Britney may wanna dance with you.

Ive been trying to beat her for hours but nothing seems to be working. Her attacks seem to similar and I constantly end up directly beneath waterfowl dance leaving me no time to use the freezing pot. My stamina isnt normally an issue but its hard to tell when she'll attack and when she'll cancel

I’ve been away from this game for awhile now. But, between the sub and a guy from work I decided to jump back in. It just a fun as I remember and as challenging

I USED THE DAMN SERPENT KILLER PEOPLE!!! Upgraded fully. It didnt help me with it.
I play pure mage. Rykard took me multiple hours over so many weeks to beat. I just had to keep coming back to him. I think part of the issue was that a lot of spells that connect with him, like rock sling, especially in phase 1, just get absorbed. Some glitch or something, I'm not sure. His little skull hell fire in phase 2 would always fuck me up though.
I prepared myself so much for Malenia expecting the fight of my life. On try three, I almost beat her but she got me right when I had one hit left on her. By try ten, she was done for.
I don't understand the hype and frustration over her. It honestly felt really anticlimactic. I literally just beat her while I'm damn near paralyzed on the couch after 6 spinal injections 5hrs ago.
Hell I've had way harder times with ulcerated tree spirit in War Dead Catacombs and the Putrid avatar in Caelid. I feel cheated and disappointed.
Thoughts?

Hello fellow tarnished.
I beat the base game a while back and took an extended break cause I got busy and shit. I posted picutres of my current build, and I want to change it cause I don't really enjoy it. It feels like I need the bleed procs to make any headway, and that has been largely inconsistent with boss fights, so I feel like i do next to no damange. I'm currently scadutree lvl 4.
Any advice on how to fix current build or maybe some new weapons from the DLC I can grab early to use? Great katanas seem cool but I'm down for other ideas.
For context, I'm pretty sure I used just the nagakiba for most of the base game, I honestly don't remember when I brought RoB into things. Maybe it made my build suck idrk. I'm currently trying to fight Rellana, and after the first 2 bleed procs I get her to phase 2 and feel like I do literally no damage.
Edit: i will definitely be changing my talismans, ty for the tips. I honestly never fw them in the base game so ill do some research.
