OPEN Am I screwed?

I have an old ps4 here the hard drive has some damage to the connection area, I’m not trying to force it to go in, in the last photo you can see how far it goes before stopping, Is there anyway to fix this? Or just get a new drive?

What you're focusing on isn't making contact with anything. The contact surface is the exposed area that you see when looking at the connector from the top.

Are all contacts in parallel? None of them seem to stick out upwards, so that's good.

I'd look at the opposite connector with a flashlight to see if everything there looks flat, too.

If yes, I'd just try to press harder. The connection does have to make a snug fit after all.

I figured it out! Someone put the hard drive back inside the holder upside down, and yes it wasn’t making correct contact, I flipped it back around and now it fits, now just gotta see if it works, they said the ps4 was “fried” but still turns on, something with the HDMI port
