Hi there, just joined this sub as I'm a pretty casual electronics tinkerer, though I need to get better at self diagnosing, etc. (I also really need to buy a multimeter, idk how I've made it this far)
Anyway, I have a Poliviar 7379 electric kettle that I'd like to repair rather than replace, the only issue with it is that the temperature readout is inconsistent, I imagine it's due to a faulty circuit component? For example, it will get up to boil, and then for pour over coffee, I set it to 96C but from there it acts rather erratically and doesn't really know what temperature it's at, sometimes it will ramp back up the heating element and resume boiling. Not sure why it began doing this.
With some searching it looks like they used a STRIX temperature controller in the kettle, if that helps.
Any tips on how to diagnose the issue would be appreciated! (I have a soldering iron and third hand device, planning to go get a multimeter asap. Have done mostly audio electrical repair/projects)
