I know I see alot of posts about problems with Eufy Cameras, but thought I'd write a positive post. Recently, someone tried to burn my house down. The cameras were able to catch the individual going onto my property, alert me to it and law enforcement was able to respond before the suspect was able to start the fire.
I've been nothing but impressed with the video quality of my 10 cameras, along with everyone who has watched the videos from the incident. I'm truly greatful that I purchased the cameras and how well they work.
I’m experiencing an oddity with my cams and white vehicles. We must have a minimum of 250 cars go by our house daily (large subdivision). My can never give a notification unless it’s a white vehicle. And this is despite me having adjusted my settings so that it doesn’t pick up the street. Has anyone else experienced this?
Ok, so I want to put up more cameras around my property and I am trying to stick with one brand so I can just use one app. I have a couple of E220's in my house (mainly to watch the dogs). I am thinking of a couple of S330's for my detached garage and backyard and an E340 (floodlight camera). Whats concerning is the delamination of the video doorbells and Eufy's reluctance to make it right. I dont want it to look like crap as I was thinking of a couple of E340 Video doorbells. Am I Wrong here? If not Eufy, any other brands you recommend?
How is the performance of the standalone eufy cameras without homebase as far as AI accuracy, false alert avoidance, and event detection goes? I’m trying to avoid homebase because it just screams single point of failure to me.
Has anyone had their SoloCam S340 develop moisture/fogging inside the camera lens? Mine was installed outdoors and used normally, but water has somehow gotten inside the lens.
I contacted eufy, but they said the warranty has expired and won’t repair or replace it. They only offered a discount toward another camera.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Did eufy ever offer a repair or replacement, even outside the warranty period?
I’ve had multiple eufy products and haven’t experienced this before, so I’m curious if this is a known issue with the S340.
This is a common problem with my doorbell, but it tends to fix itself after a day, or if I change some settings and then change them back. However, currently I can see my doorbell physically detecting motion with the red lights, but no motion notifications or recording are in the app. I used to use human only but that stopped working, and now all motion isn't working either. Is anyone else experiencing this?
If you have a eufy cam3, can you do a test to see if yours are behaving the same as mine?
I have three new eufy cam3, and all of them are behaving the same way.
If the motion detection setting is set with "ALL OTHER MOTIONS" checked, if you go into live view of that camera, it triggers a motion alert within a few seconds of entering live view.
Turning off the ALL OTHER MOTIONS solves this problem. This happens on all my eufy cam3 but not on any other eufy cams like 2, 2c etc...
There is no real motion. I confirmed it by taking the cams down, put it into a closet, and it does the same thing.
Eufy support thinks that when entering live view, something internal of the camera moves - some mechanical parts, perhaps causing the cam to shift or vibrate ever so slightly, and this slight movement of the camera causes the view to move accordingly and triggered a false motion. Their recommendation is to lower the motion sensitivity. I had it on 7, I tried 5, 3, 1, no difference. They than suggested I do not use this NO OTHER MOTION option, which makes no sense. Actually there was an option in the old software, during the night it will switch to ALL MOTIONS automatically, which is what I want, but they took this option away in the new software update.
So if you have an eufy cam3, can you test this and let me know if you check ALL OTHER MOTIONS, and go into live view, are you getting false motion alerts?
I know it is compatible with the Homebase Mini. But I want to know if it can be connected to the Homebase 3.
All the newer cameras that are featured on Homebase page are either solar or hardwired. I need something battery powered for cleaner installation that will be compatible with Homebase 3.
Just a warning from a long time user, just don't do it.... They just can't get live streaming to work correctly ,I have no idea why they can't get it right but im just done with this unreliable product.
As an owner of 11 cameras and one door lock, I'm telling you it's not worth the hassle.
I needed to move away from my old Blink battery/ wireless cameras. After looking around I purchased an eufy Security eufyCam S3 Pro, 4-Cam Kit with an S340 doorbell camera and a Home base 3. I picked them all up refurbished from the official eufy eBay store on sale so my total outlay was under $500.
I’ll note that prior to me getting the system I also upgraded by home WiFi to an Eero 7 mesh system
I live in a single story 1800 sq ft concrete block stucco home. The 4 S3 cameras were mounted outdoors on each corner of the house, the doorbell where you’d expect it and it was installed alone with a new 24v transformer to provide power. The base was put enclosed in the tv console which is pretty much in the center of the home. I put a 120 GB SSD in the base for extra storage.
I set everything up connected to WiFi. A couple of the cameras initially showed weak WiFi connections but worked well. After getting it set up I then plugged the base into the eero mesh router via Ethernet.
IMHO the system works very well. I can access cameras and recording with very minimal delay both at home and remotely. Recordings are of great resolution, and it works far better than my old blink system. I’ve used the talk feature on the doorbell and it worked ok with minimal lag.
After 2 months of use I’m still exploring its capabilities but so far I’m pretty happy with the system.
Hey guys was looking into getting a Familock S3 Max. The palm vein recognitions seems kinda cool. I would appreciate anyone’s advice on the long term view of this product and whether you would reccomend it.
I saw some previous reddit posts indicating some software quirks hopefully those are fixed now! Any advice would be much appreciated thanks!!
Setup: 12 x Bullet-PTZ Cam S4 (4K PoE) and 2 x NVR S4 Max (2TB). Wired install, still being commissioned.
What I learned the hard way: the Bullet-PTZ consumes 2 channels each, and the NVR S4 Max is 8 channels native on its 8 built-in PoE ports. So 4 Bullet-PTZ per NVR, not 8. I confirmed this the painful way by wiring 8 cameras to one NVR and getting exactly 4 online. Nothing wrong with the cameras or the cable - I was just out of channels.
eufy's own material says the NVR "can be expanded to 16 channels via a PoE switch (not included)" and that "up to 8 Bullet-PTZ cameras can be connected."
Questions for anyone who has actually done this:
Can you confirm from real use that one NVR S4 Max runs 8 Bullet-PTZ cameras at 16 channels through an external switch? Or does something else cap out first?
Does that switch have to be dumb/unmanaged, or does a managed enterprise PoE switch work? I already have a 48-port managed PoE switch with plenty of free ports and would rather not add another box just for this.
Do the cameras and the NVR need to be in the same subnet/VLAN? Any IGMP snooping or multicast requirement I should set up before I start?
Are switch-connected cameras discovered automatically by the NVR, or is there an add-by-IP flow? Any firmware minimum on either the NVR or the cameras?
Any penalty at 16 channels - recording bitrate throttling, HDD fill rate on the 2TB, CPU limits on the smart detection or cross-cam tracking?
My target is 6 cameras per NVR across two NVRs. At 8 channels native that's impossible; at 16 it's comfortable with room spare. Trying to find out whether that works before I commit the cable runs rather than after.
We've had this camera for a few years, no issues. Starting two days ago, it stopped recording/sending notifications of vehicles. It's still catching people (and cats) without flaw.
The only time when I was able to get it to record a vehicle is when I deliberately slowed rolled down my driveway.
However, our normal behavior leaving the garage requires us to back out, turn around, shut the garage door, and drive down a 100 ft driveway (all in view of the camera). It's not like we leave and immediately turn onto a road.
I've checked the firmware, turned off/on motion detection, and restarted the device twice. Not sure what else to do...appreciate any help. All was fine before the weekend.
After about 3.5 years, both of my 2C Pro EufyCams are dead. They just simply won’t hold a charge and go out as soon as unplugged.
I’m reluctantly going to stick with Eufy and get a couple replacement EufyCams and am only looking for ones which are compatible with the Homebase 2. I’ve narrowed it down to either the C35 or E30, and I’m curious to hear feedback on them or any alternative suggestions.
I don’t really need the movement of the E30, my driveway is covered by a fixed camera and my back yard is also tiny and easily covered by a fixed cam. I’m mostly interested in it for the solar panel so I don’t have to charge as frequently.
I don’t know what happened to this camera, for the past 2 weeks it doesn’t record anything from the time I get back home at night all the way until 6:30 am. It used to detect pet, vehicle and humans fine at night. Now it will only work if I have all motion selected, before I only had humans, vehicle and pet. Anyone know what’s going on? Last software update was in June. Any idea what’s going on?
At my previous house I had a Ring camera. When the mowers came and would go back and forth across the camera area, I'd get a notification that would allow me to pause for an hour. No having to go into the settings...I may not have even had to unluck my phone. Eufy does not offer that as far as I can tell. I've finally just turned off notifications, which defeats the security purpose altogether. Am I missing something?
When I stream video directly from my E30, image is very pixelated (almost as if the image had been sharpened to max). However, if I make a recording and watch it, there’s no pixelation. On my much older Pan&Tilt, the pixelation while streaming is not occurring. I’ve attached images.
I wonder if I have a bad unit, or if this is the standard behavior with E30 line.
Have had ongoing issues with connecting to live streaming / stream recording and tried all sorts of things to fix the connection and time out issues but I think I found the culprit. I cleared the cache in the app on my phone and it has been smooth sailing since. If it really is this simple I'll be stoked. It's been nothing but unreliable so far. Here's hoping!
I have a solocam s340 mounted on my garage overlooking the driveway, front yard, and street. When I wake up in the morning, if the paper has not yet been delivered ( I know we’re very old-school here) I have to keep opening up the eufy app every few minutes to see if the papers are here. Is there any way that I can set it up to trigger when they’re delivered or when the driver passes them from the car that never slows down? Not an emergency, of course — it would just be very convenient. I did try turning on notifications for vehicles, but it would notify me every time any vehicle passed by on the street which would be like five or 10 an hour 24 hours a day, so I had to turn that off. thanks
Hi, I have an EufyCam C35 with an SD card inserted, but for some reason, it has stopped recording detected movement. I have already tried all the basic troubleshooting steps I know of, except for resetting the device, as I recently subscribed to a cloud recording service. I’m afraid that resetting the device might unlink the subscription from it.
Could you please advise me on what I can do to resolve this issue without resetting the device?
Here’s my issue: I want a desktop where I can download everything before deletion. The only alternative I know of is doing it one by one through the app. The website tells me to access “web portal access” through the app though it’s not where they say it is. Anyone run into this before?
