Art Chibi Dreads

TL;DR - Chibi Eve ships are fun to draw!

The other day I was asked to design another alliance logo where one part of it was to draw some “Chibi Capitals". Never done anything like that before, so I watched some tutorial videos on how to do it and gave it a try.  Turns out they are really enjoyable and take so much quicker to draw over my usual Eve artwork. What was supposed to be a small Sunday project has turned into 3 days lol

Zirnitra - Took around an hour to do because of how flat a lot of the surfaces are and not a lot of details compared to the others, very easy to “Chibify”.

Revelation - Was the first one I drew and took around 2 hours. I’d say it was the easiest to do as getting the overall shape was pretty easy to achieve.

Moros - Took me around 2 hours but I’m not sure how I feel about this one, as it’s fat, round and stubby anyway and I honestly still can't tell if I did it too close to the original or if the Chibi style worked out well.

Phoenix Navy Issue - This one took around 3 hours to do as there were a lot of details on it and the digital camo pattern took forever!

Naglfar - This one was a pain to do, and took me around 4 hours. Getting the proportions correct while trying to keep the same look at the original without going much into the chibi style was troublesome and then again it has loads of details on it.

None of these would have been possible without the awesome work from T’Amber with his new fancy website -  caldariprimeponyclub.com. It’s so amazing and you should definitely check it out! You can fit ships out, add weapons, change the skins, background, toggle animations and even make your own SKINR designs and pull them directly off the in-game Paragon store AND much more!

All the feedback I’ve gotten after showing these to various people have all come back pretty positive and everyone thinks I should make them into stickers. So if CCP permits me to do so, and I can find a cost effective way for making them; I might have these up on my store page. Fingers crossed!

What do you guys think? Should I continue this series?

Discussion Asher, Rachel Miles and the rest of Goonswarm: Lets talk about People’s Liberation Alliance

There's a chance you don't know, and an even better chance you don't care, but the People's Liberation Alliance (aka PLA) has become a massive cancer in the FW space over the last 6 months.

For those who don't know: PLA is a contingent of multiboxing Chinese farmers who used to be strictly Guristas militia but now have hundreds of enlisted toons in the Caldari and Gallente militias. They use these toons to AWOX and exploit every broken mechanic they can find in the warzone — all while operating under the Goonswarm Alliance.

For starters, they will shoot any suspect or -5 flagged character, even if that person is in the same militia, hoping the logi will try to repair and save them — then shoot the logi too once they become suspect. This is the daily norm in Ice Heists and Battlefields now. Rather than fight toons of the opposing faction, they warp in toons from the same militia and seagull everything while shooting anything they can get away with.

Mostly what they do now is farm with their Guri alts during our off-peak TZ, then switch to their Caldari alts and seagull everything in unfit Atrons during our peak times.

When they do decide to fight with their 5/1 numbers, they will warp in Flycatchers flying Caldari Militia (our militia) and bubble our fleet while their Guri alts shoot us, making us unable to ever shoot our own tacklers without taking a massive standings loss.

AND DURING ALL OF THIS THEY ARE INPUT BROADCASTING

We just had a fight with them at the Guri FOB where they pulled every exploit I mentioned above. We got nearly all of our destroyed ships reimbursed by our FC after reporting them as lost to input broadcasting — which confirms all of this.

The BR: https://br.evetools.org/br/6a954e93ff54f80e54555e57

It's disheartening to see this sort of behavior allowed and rewarded by the same leadership/alliance that I would see rail against nullsec rental empires, botting, and other things Goonswarm would deem "bad for the health of the game."

Ask any FW player, no matter the side — Galmil, Calmil, Amarr, Minmatar, Guris — all are in agreement: this is unequivocally awful for the health of the game and the game mode we love to play.

Keep in mind, FW members want content — we want PvP. If PLA played by the rules and fought without input broadcasting, without shooting blues, without using toons to tackle us that we can't shoot back at, without switching into 20 unfit Atrons to seagull LP, and without flip-flopping into Guri toons (or whatever side is better for the TZ) — there wouldn't be an issue.

If you care about this game and its future, please dont continue to allow this sort of behavior of your Alliance members just so you can have a cheaper flow of blueprints from the LP store.

They "hide" their Guri toons outside of Goonswarm
Here you Can see them flying in tandom Caldari and Guri Toons
Caldari toons are directly under Goonswarm

Discussion Dear CCP. Please Give Us Pirate Faction Marauders!

Upvotes

As I'm sure many pilots like myself really enjoy the pirate-faction and non-Empire ships. And the wonderful ships under the Guristas, Sanshas, Blood Raider, Angel, Serpentis, Mordu, and Edencom factions don't have marauders (although for some reason there IS a Triglavian one, the Babaroga) although many of them DO have dreadnaughts. I, for one, and I'm sure many others, would love to see and fly these ships if you can make them for us.

Thank you!

Discussion A little T1 solo low sec PvP research..

Upvotes

I occasionally check the T1 frigate solo low sec pvp stats, using zkill, to see how the T1's stack up against each other. I realize it's likely not perfect, but I'm sure it catches the overall trends of top ships, best/worst matchups, etc.

I just finished an update today (01 Sep 26), with my last one having been done 15 Apr 26.

The total number of T1 vs T1 low sec solo PvP was up ~156% (by my very unofficial count).

I wonder why that is (he asks knowingly)?

First, thank you, FCCCP.

Second , a suggestion for FCCCP:

Hey, toot your own horn a little bit - this was a very good change! Show us your numbers for this and the similar, focused changes you made.

And thank you, thank you, squizz.

Question What's the best way to get an Orca out of LS ?

Greetings capsuleers,

Me and my corp recently got our hands on an Orca. The trouble is, it's located deep in Low-sec.

So, what would be the best way to exfiltrate it back to HS (probably Jita) to sell it ?

We considered a few options but I'd be curious to see your take/remarks on it :

- Option A : Tank it, scout ahead and send it to make multiple jumps in LS with possibly a defense group.

- Option B : Same as option A but through a pre-scanned WH chain.

- Option C : Reprocess it and move the materials with DSTs.

- Option D : Use the pochven highway with filaments (use a prototype cloaking on the orca to wait out the timers) ? Or is there an issue we're not aware of with this method ?

Thx and fly safe o7

EDIT :

Thx for all your anwsers ! They'll help us decide which method to go for !

A few clarifications :

- We didn't buy the orca in LS : We looted it from a station in a WH and yeeted it asap in a LS connection that was our only k-space connection at the time and was about to close so we didn't have the time to put much thought into it.

- We would have first considered the JF or other cyno option if it was possible, which, to our knowledge, is not. (Jump restrictions and 500k m³ repackaged)

Low Effort Meme Bobby and his Vargur

Upvotes

Now when Bobby Shaftoe had gone through high school, he’d been slotted into a vocational track and ended up taking a lot of shop classes. A certain amount of his time was therefore, naturally, devoted to sawing large pieces of wood or metal into smaller pieces. Numerous saws were available in the shop for that purpose, some better than others. A sawing job that would be just ridiculously hard and lengthy using a hand saw would be accomplished with a power saw. Likewise, certain cuts and materials would cause the smaller power saws to overheat or seize up altogether and therefore called for larger power saws. But even with the biggest power saw in the shop, Bobby Shaftoe always got the sense that he was imposing some kind of stress on the machine. It would slow down when the blade contacted the material, it would vibrate, it would heat up, and if you pushed the material through too fast it would threaten to jam. But then one summer he worked in a mill where they had a bandsaw. The bandsaw, its supply of blades, its spare parts, maintenance supplies, special tools and manuals occupied a whole room. It was the only tool he had ever seen with infrastructure. It was the size of a car. The two wheels that drove the blade were giant eight-spoked things that looked to have been salvaged from steam locomotives. Its blades had to be manufactured from long rolls of blade-stuff by unreeling about half a mile of toothed ribbon, cutting it off, and carefully welding the cut ends together into a loop. When you hit the power switch, nothing would happen for a little while except that a subsonic vibration would slowly rise up out of the earth, as if a freight train were approaching from far away, and finally the blade would begin to move, building speed slowly but inexorably until the teeth disappeared and it became a bolt of pure hellish energy stretched taut between the table and the machinery above it. Anecdotes about accidents involving the bandsaw were told in hushed voices and not usually commingled with other industrial-accident anecdotes. Anyway, the most noteworthy thing about the bandsaw was that you could cut anything with it and not only did it do the job quickly and coolly but it didn’t seem to notice that it was doing anything. It wasn’t even aware that a human being was sliding a great big chunk of stuff through it. It never slowed down. Never heated up.

When Shaftoe logged on to Eve Online he had found that ships had much in common with saws. Most ships could pvp all right, but they stopped, or ran out of capacitor, or simply died. They could pvp in other words, but it was a big deal for them, it placed a certain amount of stress on them, and they could not take that stress forever. But the Vargur in the Corp hanger was to other ships as the bandsaw was to other saws. The Vargur was water-cooled. It actually had fucking radiator fins on it. It was immoble, just like the bandsaw. It took a while to get on grid, but once the damn thing was up and running, it could fire continuously for days as long as haulers kept scurrying up to it with more cap boosters. After Shaftoe opened fire with the Vargur, some of the other corp members, eager to pitch in and do their bit, took potshots at the roaming gang with their T3Cs, but doing so made them feel so small and pathetic that they soon gave up and docked up on in the keep, watching the slow progress of the Vargur on stream. Shaftoe hosed down those damn nanogangers for a while, jumping the Vargur back and forth across a gate. Then he picked out an orthrus that had strayed too close, and two-shot it just for fun. When the gang eventually grouped on a safe and filamented out, he pumped a couple hundred more rounds into the gate just for fun. Shaftoe hasn’t undocked a different ship since that day, and hasn’t lost one either, thanks to the Vargur.

FCplease Why Doesn't the Dronelands have ANY NPC stations?

I guess I can kind of understand from a lore perspective, but it would really add some life to the place if there was even one or two NPC stations.

Can we meme this into existence?

Goons have been nice enough to install some freeports, but even those are fairly far away.

Question Capital ship alt skill plan?

Hello Eve!

I'm on attempt number 4 of trying to get into the game and it's going well this time, and I'm considering starting preparing a caps alt since I will want to be playing them eventually.

I haven't been able to find a modern caps alt skillplan though.

What I gotten so far in the plan i set up:

  • Magic 14
  • Jump Drive Operation to 5
  • Jump Drive Calibration to 5
  • Capital Ships to 5
  • Advanced Weapon Upgrades 5
  • Thermodynamics 5

Anything else that is generally good that I should train? I'm also unsure what to specialize in, but I will focus on the general skills first since I have time for that I guess

Thx in advance!

Guide New player mentor

Hello!

Returning to MMO life after becoming a dad, eldest is now 5! I used to play your standard MMOs like osrs, gw etc but am massively into space game genre now after being inspired by my sons interest.

Looking to sign up using a referral link as apparently this has benefit, was hoping to find a mentor / corp to guide me initially. From the UK in mid 30s, ideally similar minded people.

Will mainly be playing while working from home so pve and semi afk activities to begin. Having be scouring YouTube for videos and im buzzing to get started. Omega once my skill points are rolling is on my list is a certain.

I will look on disc but haven't joined yet as didnt want to link an account I then ditch for this new one.

Cheers cheers,

Question Returning Player, advice needed!

Hey guys, recently found myself an urge to fly around in space, I saw some youtube vid about EVE and a lot of the new things looked intriguing and so I used the referral code to do the whole new player experience thing with 1 million free sp. I've been having fun, played for a couple days now, finished all the basic AIR career agent missions and went out to amarr space and have been doing a bit of faction war.

I remember a lot of things but only vaguely, like i know I should be using directional scan in low sec but i dont remember how, I know I need to setup my overview panel and other UI elements to really pop off but also can't remember good practices for that. Basically my first question is, is there a place I can go with tips on that kind of thing ? I remember there is a LOT of small things you can do in this game to really enhance your experience, just need to re-figure out what they are lol.

Another question, I have been having a good time on my new account with my little Punisher, but I did figure out my old account details and was able to get on it. It's sitting on almost 10mil skill points (but no isk, was broke back in the day I guess lol). Should I play that character ? It appears to have a lot of general skills and skills geared toward Minmatar Assault Frigs and Interceptors (2.5m Gunnery, 2m Engineering, 1.5m Navigation, 750k Armor, 2.1m Spaceship Command, some other random stuff).

Thanks for any advice you can offer!
