Discussion Does Kinnear Survive This Window?

"We won't have a right-back for Crystal Palace, but it's important we have the number-one right-back we wanted when the window closes."

I am not so sure he can come back from yet another disastrous PR exercise.

Discussion I think I’m done.

3rd generation Blue, but at least the first two saw silverware. This club is run by a circus conductor and I immediately regret that simile because a circus Conductor usually keeps some semblance of order. Fucking hell. I cant stomach it anymore, why the hell did I think they could get a serviceable Striker and RB in?! Why are they so fucking inept that they bungled a completed agreement. Worst sports organization in the world.

See you Saturday.

How do fans come up with chants so quickly?

Hi all,

I'm a relatively new fan of the Toffees from the USA. I've always been inspired by football fan culture, specifically on how fans seem more organized in Europe than they are in the states. Tifos, chants, etc. One of the things that amazed me watching the Bournemouth match is how the fans in the away end came up with the Armstrong chant just hours after the news of a potential transfer broke.

How do these chants get created and spread around? Is it spontaneous? Is it something that people share beforehand? Pardon me for any ignorance. Very excited to learn more and ready to be humbled

An optimistic view

Upvotes

Here’s the situations in which we’ve just dodged an expensive, injury prone bullet who couldn’t even pass a medical and turned down the Toffees:

- Barry stays fit and continues his incredible start to the season.
- Graham fulfills his potential and becomes our next 60-100 million pound player.
- Brennan Johnson is a fast, clinical striker like Balogun and Dibling gets game time.

Three chances for us to have dodged a bullet here :)

But nonetheless, sack Kinnear today.

Balogun is coming, but there’s something that needs to be addressed…

Look I get you local fans could give a rat’s arse about what a fan from U.S has to say, but with the new signing in Balogun bringing in more U.S fans (even though he’s still more English for me) I think there’s something that’s needs to be addressed with this strange exclusion mindset/bigotry some of you have.

I know it’s not all of you, but throughout my decade+ of supporting the club (over half my life) I’ve witnessed lot of weird energy and despisal towards U.S fans and fans that are not from the area in general. I know how important the club is to the area, this goes back generations for you locals, its lineage, its history, and yall pride yourself on being a “true” English side (majority Englishmen compared to imports), which I respect, but to completely invalidate us international fans and treat us like outsiders because we weren’t born there or go to every home or away game is what I think holds this club back more than anything.

I think there needs to be a lot more open mind-ness towards us “outsiders”. We give a new perspective without bias. You can say what you want about us and make generalizations about us through what you see online (kind of like how I’m doing with ya’ll now) but we watch the games just like you do, we cheer them on just like you do, we want success for OUR team just as much as you do. Maybe a new perspective is what’s needed to get us out of this drought.

I think I speak for a lot of us when I say; Why should it matter how much “more/less Everton” we are, we’re Everton, PERIOD.

Maybe it’s just from what I see online because every Everton fan I’ve met in person, I’ve had a more than positive experience. But I ask myself if I feel like this as an international fan, surely the international players might feel the same. Don’t you think this mindset might have a part in holding Everton back from becoming one of the “big” clubs (not to undermine how big we are already, at least nationally) in terms of international appeal and success, and maybe some of yall don’t want that, as long as Everton stays Everton, but maybe we need to let go of that mindset to REALLY grow.

Team Talk George Finney - Academy right back as cover?

It looks like we are getting Ainsley Maitland-Niles as our first choice. It still leaves us short on backups, especially if Patterson goes and it seems like right backs are as rare as hens teeth lol!

He’s 19, 6ft, has already played senior football and looks physically capable enough to be around the first team. Not saying he should start every week, but surely this is exactly what the academy is for?

Sold (better) striker without someone else ALREADY signed.

Sold RB whilst looking for a RB.

Sold our best attacking midfielder.

And (this won't be popular), have no real back-up at LB for someone that I think has been as much of a liability as RB for the last season.

I like some of the new players, but really wish Moyes had given them more game time last season once we we clearly not in Europe, but also clearly safe.

Unfairly maligned, and tossed aside like an old toy on Christmas. You weren’t the best player to ever wear the shirt, but I never felt anguish when I saw you on the team sheet.

Thank you, Beto…

This Balogun debacle is one of the lowest moments I've ever experienced as a fan.

Upvotes

I hate to bring the "American Toffee" context into play, but as someone who is only an Everton fan due to the fact they had Tim Howard when I was younger. This was the most excited I have ever been about a transfer rumor and having it squandered just feels so personally painful.

But beyond my selfish feelings, this deal would have been massive in terms of injecting new fans and money into Everton. I witnessed firsthand how much football got picked up in the United States this summer due to the world cup. EVERYONE was tuning in to the US games here and EVERYONE knew Balogun scored the important goals for us. Whatever 3-5m we were trying to save due to the medical would have easily been recovered by the influence of have Balogun in the prem on weekend mornings.

Overall, I just feel so damn let down on a personal level and this obviously feels like a massive miss for the team building we desperately needed after what's been a pretty positive start to the season.

Heads need to roll if this season sours before January.

Transfer | Rumour (Joyce) Everton still working on Folarin Balogun from AS Monaco and have asked Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee on loan. Earlier, there was a loan enquiry for Tammy Abraham but the striker wanted to stay at Aston Villa.
