seeking Experimental music label owners unite!

Calling all small experimental label owners, I’m interested in developing some reciprocal relationships label to label to help boost each of our audiences. This might include reposting releases on our socials, shared event nights, organised listening sessions, write reviews/ share promo resources, offering download codes to each other to boost download numbers and leave comments on the new Bandcamp releases, or doing small batch physical distro trades.

You can see what my label is up to instagram, we’re London based and somewhat gravitating towards lower-case experimental music - ambient, drone, sound collage or acoustic chamber music - but I have a very wide interest in all types of experimental music.

Would anyone be interested in this?

music I’m looking for a small/independent label for my experimental music

Upvotes

I've been making experimental electronic music for some time for myself. I've gone through different styles, from rhythmic electronic music and noise to dark ambient, cassette experiments and signalwave. Recently I've been working on death industrial and power electronics, which will be probably the most violent and depressing music I've made so far.

I'm not really interested in becoming famous or making money from it. I mostly make this music because I enjoy doing it, but I've started wondering how small independent artists usually find labels that might be interested in this kind of music.

I'm a complete amateur and I make everything only with my computer, so I'm not expecting anything big. I'd just like to know if there are small independent labels that are open to working with artists like this, and how you normally approach them.

If you know any labels, scenes or websites where I could look for them, I'd really appreciate some recommendations. Spanish labels would be especially interesting for me, but I'm open to anywhere.

Thanks!

self promo End Stage Catharsis (Psychological Horror)

End Stage Catharsis - a track on my huge anthology of anti-social media endeavors - this one is the penultimate track, a climactic end that leads into the realization that social media truly has no end - or the refusal to believe that.

self promo My first full-length is out today using Make Noise 0-Coast and Strega

Today is the day! My first full-length album is out today on bandcamp. I recorded this in mostly single takes using primarily an 0-Coast and Strega, along with an SQ-1 and Edge.

I'm hosting a live listen-through and AMA tomorrow 9/2 at 8pm EDT live on Bancamp.

"Cycle Meditation Martyr and the Double Time Effect on Entropy" marks a period of fluidity and amorphous existence for me. While experimenting with a new collection of instruments, I was listening to a great deal of Sufi Qawwali music and kept returning to a definition of rhythm: “a moment in time, repeated.” The phrasing is significant to me because it leaves intentionality ambiguous. A moment in time, repeated—is the repetition incidental or intentional?

These tracks are well suited to soundbathing intense moments of focus and concentration. Rhythms loop and cycle, but I do not find repetition mundane. It can manifest in a grey area between repeat and ritual. A loop lasts until it is ended, carrying with it an inherent anticipation of when that ending might come, and how. Slightly adjacent to the loop is the cycle, which to me suggests not symmetrical repetition, but rounds that can evolve.

self promo I released my debut album under my avant-folk project!

I spent hours recording stuff on guitar and editing, and I finished my first album for my avant-folk project. I only used my guitar, my computer, and audio of birds, wind, and indigenous peoples' music. It's extremely lo-fi, but I hope to make more polished things in the future. I'd love feedback :) https://moliavis.bandcamp.com/album/purpurea

self promo "From the other Plane"

Hello everybody, I want to share my new track "From the other Plane" with you. It's based on a simple piano melody, with increasing amounts of noise and ambient elements being added.

https://youtu.be/T4UyomVL2mA

https://spiryu.bandcamp.com/track/from-the-other-plane

A lot of the noise is very improvised. I like to compare it to abstract paintings, where I would just pour color over the canvas and see what comes out. The resulting chaos feels very fitting for the feelings I wanted to express with it. Feelings of frustration, and like you can't live up to this world's expectations, yet would thrive in another one.

self promo PRESTO PROTOCOL 2.2 – An experiment combining high-velocity baroque piano arpeggios with cyberpunk techno kicks (140 BPM)

Hey everyone,

Sharing a recent audio/visual experiment: PRESTO PROTOCOL 2.2

The core experiment was treating a virtuoso grand piano almost like a rhythmic engine rather than a conventional melodic instrument — aggressive Presto arpeggios, dense 16th-note motion, rapid velocity variations, and polyphonic counterpoint running continuously at 138–140 BPM.

Against that, I placed a completely dry TR-909-style techno kick with minimal spatial processing.

One of the interesting constraints was deliberately avoiding sidechain compression. Instead of making the kick and piano “make room” for each other through pumping, I wanted to see whether the arrangement, transient design, and frequency separation could maintain clarity while both layers remain highly active.

The goal was a cold, high-density sound with sharp piano attacks, controlled low-end impact, and continuous forward motion — somewhere between neo-classical piano technique, techno, and cybernetic/baroque aesthetics.

The visualizer follows the same concept with a retro-futuristic HUD and 16-bit cyber-terminal aesthetic.

I'd love to hear thoughts on the piano/kick relationship, especially whether the high-speed piano density remains clear without the usual sidechain treatment.

discussion I am making an experimental/avante garde/country/shitpost of an album about a suburb near me. I legit believe the songs will be bangers and I want to put on a live show that goes all out in the town it's making fun of.

I live in Oklahoma. There's a town near me called Owasso. It's a perfect example of completely boring, corporate, large brand name restaurants/fast food/shopping centers, etc. The whole fucking town is literally a parking lot with cookie cutter homes. I work there doing a job that allows me to witness the lifestyle of driving everywhere, no fucking trees in the neighborhoods, and everyone just eats the most generic chain restaurants every day.

On one hand I get this sounds absurdly pretentious and makes me look like a whiner / loser. I get it. I'm doing this because the absurdity of the times we live in drive me to make unhinged music and for some reason I just want to make an album called:

OWASSO: 2084

It will be pop country with all sorts of unhinged elements introduced into it. Lyrics about the absurdity of the town and surrounding suburbs. Cheeky suburban cinematic feels combined with liminal meaningless. All original. No AI or any bullshit. I honestly think I'm on to something and I can't wait to debut this.

Hi 👋

I tought you guys might be interested in my latest release. Its a 50+ mins album made entirely of feedback patching of a serge modular synthesizer (with the exception of one babbling baby sample I recorded). Otherwise every sound you hear comes from feedback.

I tought this was an interesting concept to experiment with and I’m quite pleased with the result!

discussion Any other albums like 'Formula' by the band Old Lady Drivers?

Hodge podge of interconnected rhythms with neat syncopation that throw you for a loop? Aggressive drumming but not overly complicated and emphasizing how the song is interpreted.

I'm loving this album. It just has a specific energy about it that I love. I'd say Grotus is very similar in approach but with their own specific sound

seeking Looking for video artist for piece about Frutiger Aero?

Hello!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this (pls lmk if not!)... I'm a composer and have recently written an electronic/ambient/experimental piece about Frutiger Aero. More precisely, about the duality of our modern relationship with the aesthetic - part genuine nostalgia, part alienation/sarcasm. The music gets gradually distorted over the course of the piece, from gentle ambient piano, nature sounds & a bed of modified Nintendo music samples, to something more blurry, distorted and fragmented like a distant recollection. In that sense, sort of inspired by Everywhere at the End of Time, Basinski's Disintegration Loops, etc.

The piece started started as a collaboration with a friend of mine to create a work specifically for audio and video together, but he can't do it anymore... so I'm trying to find someone who'd be interested in doing a video! Whether something more involved, or simply a sort of "background" video of, say, Frutiger Aero images slowly getting distorted along with the music?

Does anyone here have suggestions as to where to look/ask for that kind of thing? Even just a subreddit name would be very helpful!

Or maybe would someone here be interested in the project? 😆 If so I'm happy to send a link to the piece and answer any questions - just DM me!

Thank you :)
