Is nothingness truly the end

Think about it and read hard jt makes sense that nothingness is the end but I can't grasp will that ever end we spend our lives working going to school not knowing how precious our lives is before you know it your already getting old and maybe start to fear death but I am scared myself but people say we're lucky to be brought into this world but we are brought into this world to just die eventually we don't know heaven or he'll is real it makes sense that nothingness for eternity might be the real ending because living the rest of eternity in hell or heaven sounds unrealistic humans cope from death everyday like gaming going out with friends knowing that deep inside they will die one that I am scared and lost I really hope that one day scientist will find the ending of death. How do I move house for the first time?

I'm turning 22 and ive lived in the same house with my parents my whole life. I know that isnt really uncommon in this economy. But myself and my partner are hopefully going to be getting a place and moving in a couple months. Big life jump but I really don't know how to start? I worry I'm gonna do something wrong and things are gonna slip through the cracks.

I know vaguely about the putting stuff in boxes part of moving. But finance wise? And looking for a house? What's the point of a realtor anyways and is there something I should look for if I have to get one? And I know we're gonna have to buy furniture, and basic household stuff like utensils and cleaning supplies, but is there anything else that you dont think about buying until you dont have.

I know we're gonna forget something important

How do I use a shuttle?

I’m going to be starting university soon and I don’t know how the shuttles work. I’m going to be needing to use them but I’ve never used any kind of public transport really and I’m really stressing out about it. I think they are in 15 minute increments, but do they get to a certain place and then go right back? Is there anything I should say? I don’t think I need to pay because they are for the university. I live in the US

How do I bring a *new* issue to a senator or representative's attention? (US)

Hi guys. I've seen helpful scripts here for calling your rep or senator on existing issues/bills. What if I have something new to bring up? For example, if Little Timmy keeps falling in the well and there are no current bills on the table to put covers on wells; or maybe if Little Timmy keeps falling in the well and I suspect Senator Smith maybe doesn't know wells exist here.

Thanks in advance!

How do I get a haircut and not panic watching my hair get cut (while also likely having to socialize)

Hihi, my hair has always been the one thing I love about myself but I’m ready for some change. I have pictures to show the stylist and I’m planning to mostly get layers done. I got a lot of length cut off my hair about a year ago and I had to take a break in the bathroom due to a sudden wave of anxiety nausea that was very embarrassing. I’m already feeling the same anxious nausea and it’s the night before finding pictures for what I want. It’s something between a wolf cut and a butterfly cut.

The sound of the clippers also makes me physically cringe, it’s very painful to listen to. I struggle to maintain conversation (I talk back but it just ends up awkwardly dying). Do I scroll on my phone? Look in the mirror and avoid eye contact? Do I keep my eyes open or closed when getting my hair washed?

EDIT: thank you all for your advice <3 I got my hair cut and it went great! I told the stylist I’m a bit quiet and anxious and the appointment was basically totally silent and not too awkward. My hair came out really good and I also brought a small fidget toy to focus on as I was too anxious to bring earplugs lol. I closed my eyes at the water bowl as well (thank you, I always kept my eyes open and it felt weird but I didn’t know if it was me)

What should I expect and have ready before a phone interview?

I'm 18 and about to go through with my first ever job interview a month from now for a remote work position but I have no idea what to do beforehand. I've never had a job before this and haven't finished school yet so there's not much I can say about myself either. I have pretty bad social anxiety so the thought of doing an interview, even one over the phone, is messing with my nerves a lot - I'm trying not to cancel it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How do I make an earnest money deposit for a house?

I know the title agency I'm supposed to go to and how much the deposit is going to be, but is it something you typically need an appointment for? Is it as simple as stopping in and writing them a check? Do I need to bring any paperwork like the purchase agreement? Everything's been digital so far. I plan to call the title agency when they open in the morning and ask but until then, I turn to Reddit. Thanks in advance!

Update: Called the title agency this morning, they told me who to make the check out to and to put the address in the memo, no appointment needed, and they already had all the info filed under the address. It was quick and painless!

How do I tell my gyno I was traumatized?

My fault for putting this off so long, but, in two days, I have a gyno appointment.

I was sexually assaulted as a teenager and have some big issues with things getting put into me lol.

People give the advice that I should tell the doctor, but how? Do I need to just call the office and tell the receptionist? I kind of don't want to keep repeating my story to strangers but I don't want to catch the doctor by surprise when I show up for the appointment.

How do I store my bags between hotels?

Hi, I'm going to be staying one night at one hotel, and then the next nights at another. There's a gap of some hours between when I have to check out of rhe first hotel and when the second's room will be ready.

I was told I might be able to store my bags in a dedicated place at the hotel? Does anyone know how this works?

How can I prep me and my kid for our first cruise?

I’m terrified of cruise ships. They are a whole mall on the water and that sounds like a terrible idea. I’ve made it my whole life without being on one and had no desire to change this.

My in laws are paying for the whole family to go. Including my kids (who are their step grandkids). I have to go because I dont want my kids to miss out. My 14 year old is autistic and agrees with me about the ships are too big. I told her that we’ll be boat buddies (like we are thunder buddies) and it will be ok.

Can someone tell me what to plan for, how to prepare my kid and any tips or tricks. They haven’t booked yet so I don’t know details of the boat or ports. It’s not Disney is all I know. I want to say it’s Royal Caribbean.

Thanks!

What should I expect at a (first) primary care appointment for anxiety?

I don’t have a regular doctor per se, but I have a doctor’s office that I go to when I need to see a primary care physician. On their website it says that they cover anxiety. I want to make appointment there to ask for help with my anxiety. I want to ask about medication for anxiety, but I'm really anxious about it (which is part the problem lol) and don't know what to expect.

I'm worried they won’t consider medication or that I’ll get a ton of skepticism or pushback and have to defend myself by over explaining that I’ve tried various relegation strategies and they just haven’t worked well. I've done some therapy before, but not consistently, and I'm afraid they'll think I'm just looking for an easy fix or that I shouldn't have made the appointment.

Can someone explain what usually happens in an appointment like this? What will they ask? Is it ok to bring up medication or will they think I’m drug seeking?

I'm mostly scared of the doctor thinking I haven’t tried hard enough and won’t help me besides referring me to therapy (which, funnily enough, is NOT covered under my insurance and therefore unaffordable/unhelpful).

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through this before.

What should I expect from skin allergy testing?

I have super sensitive skin and it’s only gotten worse with age. I know that I can’t use fragrance products and I generally use brands that are designed to be gentle (Vanicream, Cerave, etc.) But I still get irritated by product sometimes, especially on my hands where I get dishydrotic eczema.

I think I should get patch testing at the Dermatologist to figure out what I’m really allergic/sensitive to. But I’m freaked out! Is it going to itch like crazy? I’m assuming that I can’t scratch right? What exactly is the process? And if you’ve done it, did you think it was worth it?

How do I prevent hitchhikers after a stay at a park? (Yay bed bugs)

I spent the weekend with my husband and my family at a state park. I am COVERED in welts. Like the kind you get when youre getting allergy shots and it swells up around the injection site? (Love finding out im allergic to something) so we spent the whole weekend thinking it was just unfortunate luck, a mosquito got in and was having a happy snack on me. This evening (it is 1 30 AM as i write this, the night before we are set to go home), I wake up practically crawling out of my skin because I am SO itchy so I run to the bathroom to put some cortisone cream on it. As I look in the mirror, I see a bug crawling on me (probably a touch bigger than a flea), so I grab it and get to identifying.

Yep. Its bed bugs. Well shit. If anyone has stayed at a state park lately, they no longer provide bedding and towels or PILLOWS (well they do but they're plastic) so we had to bring all of that and now it is all contaminated. I just now it. I am laying here awake, my OCD running wild investigating how to clean this mess up so we dont infect the house (we JUST got a flea infestation from a dog daycare outbreak under control, I dont think my sanity can handle anymore unwanted bugs). I can feel them crawling on me but when I look, nothing is there. So I know im spiraling already. I just need some sanity. Some clarity.

How do I go about protecting our peace? Cleaning clothes which have been inside a duffle bag underneath the bed. Cleaning towels, and blankets, and sheets, and pillow cases (we needed new pillows anyways, ours are like practically cardboard now), and maybe my brain too while we're at it.

I really appreciate it. Thanks.

ETA: OH MY GOD THE DOG BED 😭😭😭

What Can I Expect going to Court? (Resolving Traffic Violation)

Hi, I am a young male located in Texas who received a speeding citation recently (I've learned my lesson :-(!!)

I have asked the court on my ticket for all the options that are available to me to resolve the citation, and it turns out that I am eligible to take a driving safety course to get rid of the violation from my driving history. My plan is to dress formally, walk into the court with the required paperwork to plea no contest and request for the safety driving course as they said I could do.

My question is, what can I expect when I get to the court? Do I do exactly that, just walk in (actually, where do I go in the court?) and ask? Any other extra details would help as I've never stepped foot inside a court, thank you.

Update: I got it over with and it was so simple, I was overthinking it so much! In fact, I came overprepared and the clerk was pleased with me, lolol (printed out driver's history before doing traffic school.)

basically, stepped in the courthouse, waited in line in the lobby until a clerk was available, told the clerk I was there to resolve my citation + I was told over the phone that I was eligible for traffic school (deferral comes with it.) The clerk asked me for the papers and information (requirements are on the city site; mine was proof of insurance, driver's license) they needed, I paid the fine, was given a packet of my next steps for traffic school and then I was sent out on my merry way. I have 3 months to finish the traffic school and I can email the court the certificate after completion, then the violation will be off my history.

What to expect after a car accident?

I've been in accidents before but they were my fault. This past weekend we were rear ended in a busy town. What kind of time line should I expect to get our car fixed? Should I be getting quotes for the repairs? My trunk is not able to close properly so I have it chained, which means I can't use it. To chain it I had to crawl in from the backseat so now I lost a seat to be able to unchain it for repairs. We've had rain lately and have to cover it with a tarp.

What to expect for full skin exam?

I read the rules and I don’t think this counts as medical advice because it’s more about the appointment itself? But if this isn’t allowed I apologize

I’ve always had a bunch of moles and freckles but I’ve noticed more appearing recently and both my parents have a history of skin cancer so this is definitely necessary but I’m super nervous because I don’t know what to expect.

I’m really insecure about my body and have issues from sa so I guess my main question is just do I have to get fully undressed or can I wear a gown and like what areas do they check? For the actual exam is it just looking or is there any touching/tools involved? I don’t know if this changes anything but I’m 17f

I’m kinda freaking out about the whole process so if anyone would be willing to share what their experience was like it would be super helpful :)

How do i find a mentor or life coach??

Hello!

I'm at a point in my life where I'm really taking stock of things, and I'm becoming super aware that I need help and direction, but i have no clue how to find it!

I have ptsd and was neglected as a kid, and for a lot of trauma reasons i spent the time from 13-22 years of age pretty suicidal. I've now had multiple doctors tell me they aren't sure if I'm austistic or just so traumatized that I behave.. autistically ig. Luckily i have a wonderful husband and good friends to support me, and i got into therapy for a few years and I'm proud to say that at 26 I'm actually pretty excited to be alive now!

Talk therapy was very useful for dealing with the shame that comes with mental health issues, as well as actually realizing I was neglected and abused. I can very clearly pinpoint my unhealthy behaviors to events in my chilhood, but it came to a point where therapy wasn't actually changing anything for me, it just felt like we were rehashing my trauma twice a week for $150 an hour. I know what behavours I want to change, and I know what I want to do and become, but I have zero clue how to Start. I wasn't really raised by anyone, so I don't know how to Exist As An Adult beyond doing enough to not end up homeless or arrested.

I need accountability, I need someone to teach me how to function as a nonsuicidal person and hold my feet to the fire about Doing Stuff. How do I find a mentor for this? Is this something a life coach would do? Is there a type of therapy that does this, like some kind of reparenting?? I know of a few good resources to find therapists, but I need sometning beyond talk therapy and I don't even know what that could be.

The only thing I get satisfaction out of is helping others, but I can't do that effectively unless I know how to exist. How do I find someone to teach me?

Also major shout out to the people who answer questions in this subreddit!!! This place has been a lifesaver lol

How do I run?

My campus has an outdoor track where I want to run. I often see runners on the street who are shirtless and usually don’t carry water. I want to take my water bottle, wallet, and cell phone with me. Where can I keep them on the track?

Is there anything I should know? I have only run on an indoor track before, so keeping water and my cell phone with me wasn’t a concern. I place them on a divider wall while I run indoors. I bring these items with me in my crossbody bag that holds other stuff too. When I use the indoor track, I store my crossbody bag in the gym lockers.

Please help me. Thank you!

How is getting a new toilet gonna go?

For context, I'm in Germany.

I was cleaning my toilet and noticed a dark long spot in the porcelain, I thought it was a hair at first and tried to clean it. It turns out, it was a crack. I removed the toilet seat to get a better look and noticed a second crack on the side, more towards where the toilet is attached to the wall.

I just sent a text to my landlord with 2 pictures, and I expect him to call me tomorrow.

•How do I explain that I didnt notice before? Now that I know they're there its so obvious.

•How will my landlord and/or maintenance determine whether it was my own fault, and I'll have to pay for it?

•How will the evaluation and change go? Like, step by step?

•What are the chances I won't have to pay for it myself? (I'm a student and broke)

Thank you in advance🥲
