First time getting a vaccine at 22
I'm NOT asking for medical advice just how it works advice. My mom was one of those people who did not trust vaccines at all, I have never had one, not even a K shot at birth. Ive also been homeschooled all my life so this has been a non issue for me. I've not had any issues growing up thank god, but now that I've finally pulled away from my parents and moved away I've realized I finally need to actually get this done.
I've been putting off actually getting any since I turned 18 but I've gotten into my first relationship and he's been really encouraging, so I'm putting in the effort to get a PCD, and I know they'll explain it but how does it actually go during the appointment? I've never had a shot before and I'm not scared of needles (I've had blood drawn before) but doctors freak me out. Is it fast or will I be there a while? For my first time I'm only getting the bare minimum so do I have to get them all in one appointment or do they spread them out? Will I get sick after (my mom said I'd get really sick and Google research is inconclusive). What if something happens, would it be right away or will I have to be careful for the next week or two? Can you feel the shot when it goes in? Does it feel bad or will I not notice it? I really hate doctors so I just need reassurance honestly but in y'all's experience is it particularly stressful (again, not scared of needles, just doctors, but I have a brave face so I won't like freak out or anything while I'm there and my bf will be there for me)
