I was watching the documentary "Dakar", which was filmed in 2023 in Saudi Arabia. Several FJ sightings throughout. It looks like it was race officials and probably some light duty team support vehicles. (the main support vehicles are fucking massive, basically an offroad mobile garage)

I think it's pretty sweet because the last ones sold in the Middle East were the 2022 model year, aside from the 1000 Final Edition 2023's. If it was for advertising, Toyota would have sent a Land Cruiser or 4Runner that's still in production.

I have a great looking 2008 FJ Cruiser with a beautiful exterior, new back quarter, leather seats, and pretty new tires—with 150k miles and a rebuilt transmission that came with a warranty in 2021. I am second owner. No accidents. That’s the good news. Bad news is that it has major rust underneath and it felt wobbly all of the sudden. My mechanic just advised it has to do with the axel—two lateral arms are broken and the stabilizer bar ripped from axel. Carvana offered $8200. I was hoping to sell for $12-15k, but now it has big issues. Will anyone else pay more? Or do I take the offer?

I am trying to install a new downstream passenger side O2 sensor. The previous one was damaged at the top and some wires were cut. As I put in the new one, It seems like there is not enough room to get the O2 sensor into place to begin screwing it in. Is this common?

Honeyseal located in Oakville, ON. It’s a dry ice blasting, then lanolin wax applied I believe. How have you rustproofed your FJ?

Hi there. I recently noticed that the power steering fluid is leaking from my 09 MT. Used some of that Lucas power steering leak sealant, and it worked for a few months. But after having to manuevre very out of a tight parking stop, the leak is back with a vengeance. Does anyone know where I should looking for possible leaks in the system? Whats more likely to have a leak.. the rack? Pump? send/return lines? Thanks in advance!

My engine mounts are shot. I'm hoping to find a decent aftermarket replacement so I don't have to pay OEM prices.

Original ones were getting pretty crusty. These are pretty solid.

Just got done putting a new lift on my fj as well as some 4Runner stocks and made the jump from 31s to 33s. Now I’m looking at bumpers and the ARB one is the one I’m leaning towards but curious how weird it’ll look without OEM fender flares, has anyone seen an fj without them and running an ARB bumper ?

Two black and tan FJ Trail Teams spotted in the wild. Same model same year, but each with their own unique personalities.

So, I had some maintenance done on my 2014 FJ last week, and when I opened my hood to check the oil this morning, I noticed this gasket sitting up at the edge that they must have left there. Here are some closer looks at both sides of the gasket:

Anyone know what it is from?

I had the brake fluid replaced, so I figure it has something to do with that. The only other thing I had done in the engine compartment is coolant flush, fuel injector cleaning/flush, & spark plug replacement.

Speaking of which, they charged me extra to remove the intake manifold and replace the plenum gasket which they said they had to do to replace the spark plugs. I told them I didn't think that was necessary on this engine, but similar engines do require that, which is probably why they thought it was necessary, and they said they would take that charge off if they didn't need to do it. Well, they ended up leaving the charge on, am I right that there was no reason to do remove the intake, and can I tell if they actually even did that and replaced the gasket?

2013 with 94k miles, Icon Phase II 2.5 inch lift suspension, Smittybuilt winch, 360 rugged offroad lights mounted under the full length roofrack, and upgraded sound system. Such a fun beast to drive around and explore in! Paid $30k. No structural rust, but does have a little bit of normal Cali oxidation. Looking forward to breaking 100k miles!
