We now have a Discord fully geared towards modding Fallout 4, Skyrim and Starfield on PC/XB/PS

In addition we welcome all mod authors and porters to join and collaborate with special roles for both in addition to a personal mod author channel to post your mods.

# Be Respectful

We want this to remain a helpful and friendly community.

Always be respectful of everyone you are interacting with on this sub. No name calling. No bullying. No casting aspersions about people’s character. No harassing others in any way. Be that in public view or via direct message.

Failure to adhere to this rule will result in your no longer being able to participate in this community.

# Check Modding 101 Before Posting

It is always worth searching the sub before creating a new post.

Consider:

Has this been answered by a Sticky or Community post at the top of the main forum view?

That Bethesda’s servers regularly go down temporarily.

If you are asking for load order help, we have numerous resources. Check the Modding 101 Guide, FAQ & WIKI to ensure your question isn't already answered.

# Post Load Order and use the proper flair when asking for LO help

If you are experiencing a conflict or bug which you would like help resolving the community will be happy to help. But a video or screenshot of the problem is insufficient on its own.

Always include a full list of the mods you are running, and the order they are placed in. Providing partial lists / mentioning only the mods you think might be to blame rarely aids resolving the problem. It may also lead to the wrong conclusion entirely.

Posts asking for help without including this will be removed.

# If Posting Pictures or Video please state what mod they are from or utilizing

If you post a picture or video of an item, outfit, or settlement please list what mod(s) are being used in the displayed content.

No NSFW content is allowed on this subreddit.

This is not a place to advertise your own content unless you are specifically asking for help with mods and the video clips linked shows the issue/performance enhancement. Do not link your entire YT/Twitch/Twitter, you must link a specific mod related video.

# Spreading Misinformation

Do not disparage mod authors or porters because you do not like them as an individual

Do not make unsubstantiated claims about mods not working, causing crashes, frame rate drops or causing problems. Mod conflicts exist.

If you are experiencing problems? You can ask for help with your order or help getting a mod to work. That’s what this sub is here for.

Posts which deviate from this rule will be removed and in more extreme cases you will be excluded from participating in this community.

# No Discussion of IRL Topics

Discuss the mod, it's quality, it's stability, whether it is lore friendly, ect.

If you agree or disagree with a mods contents, beliefs, ideology ect is not to be discussed here.

Users that are having issues with a mod should be free to seek assistance.

There will be 0 tolerance of real life discussion topics. Including but not limited to; Religion, Race, Politics, Ai, IRL War, Gender or Sexuality.

If you can not contain yourself and refrain from discussion of such topics you will find yourself immediately unwelcome in this community.

# No MEMEs, this is not the place for that.

I really didn't think I needed to make this rule, but apparently I do. No Meme's please. Go to r/Fallout4Network to post MEME's, lore, and general Fallout chat.

# Breaking Bethesda Terms of Service (ToS)

This sub does not allow the discussion of, advocating for or sharing of ways to break Bethesda’s Terms of Service. Bans will be issued for the latter.

Modding guidelines can be found here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/51731 Videos or images which break these terms will also be removed and users penalized.

# No NSFW Content of any kind is allowed here. This sub is E for Everyone

If the mod in question would be unable to be uploaded to Bethesda mods due to disallowed content in regards to ToS (see rule 10), then you are not ok to discuss it here.

Bethesda does not allow NSFW mods on Bethesda.net, so they have no place here. ANY posts marked NSFW will be auto-removed by the auto-bot. Do not tag your post as NSFW unless you want it removed immediately. Persistent posts will result in a ban.

Please go to r/Fallout4ModsNSFW for that type of content.

# Advertising is not Permitted

This includes:

Linking to a site where goods or content is sold. The advertising of paid services.

The creation of posts purely to promote an individual or group.

Links added to intentionally direct traffic to sites such as YouTube, Discord, Twitch.

Offering to pay others for load order help, for porting mods and other similar services is also not permitted on this platform.

# Verified Creations

Discussion of paid mods is encouraged, both positive and negative, but please keep discussions respectful regardless of your feelings of the verified creations program.

Mod Authors of verified creations are currently exempt from the above rule . You may to link to pages for Verified Creations on Bethesda.net only. Participating in the sub to reply to questions or bug reports is required if you are going to advertise and link to verified creations. Otherwise the posts will be removed.

In addition to the above rule changes some protections have been put in place to warn or in some cases block certain wording in posts/comments. Please pay attention to all pop-ups and act accordingly.

I hope this leads to a more positive community overall for everyone. Please be patient while these rules roll out network wide and individual wiki's are updated. This is a lengthy process.

It has come to my attention Reddit users who primarily use Reddit on their phone often do not know of the information available in the menu links, which are easy to see and locate on PC. Your Overseer here with steps on how to stop your game from updating.

[From the Collective Modding Discord]

August 18th Bethesda will be pushing another Fallout 4 Update and soon another for Skyrim. This one is focusing on General Creations Improvements!

So, now is the time to prevent automatic updates from happening, get your mod lists backed up, etc. Every single time they update the game(s), breaks our script extenders and dependent mods. Please take this as a fair warning, considering we were not given much time to prepare for this! Using Windows Explorer, navigate to your Steam\SteamApps folder and set:

• appmanifest_377160.acf - Properties - click Read Only (Fallout 4)
• appmanifest_1946160.acf - Properties - click Read Only (FO4 Creation Kit)
• appmanifest_489830.acf - Properties - click Read Only (Skyrim SE/AE)
• appmanifest_1946180.acf - Properties - click Read Only (Skyrim SE/AE Creation Kit)

Once the script extender (F4SE) and dependent mods are confirmed to have updated, you can then remove the Read Only flags and update your game and F4SE mods!

Setting ACH files to Read Only and having these settings should minimize/eliminate the auto-updates, considering we typically launch our games via script extenders and not directly by the launchers.
