How do I add new threadmarks to a thread that has already been posted? I have no clue how to do it.

this is probably a huge long shot but I read these two fics on ao3 not knowing i was in both private browsing and not logged into my account. i have done everything to try to find them again, to no success :( i’ve filtered on ao3 and google searched and even manually gone through ao3 search results for the 3 fandoms in the title and i can’t seem to find them, idk if they got deleted but this is my last desperate attempt to!! if anyone knows what fics they are based on what i remember id be eternally grateful 🥹 here are the descriptions of what i remember from them. They are both for the Odysseus/Penelope ship.

1. the first fic is the story of how they got together and snippets of them pre-marriage, pre-war. i remember a very specific bit of dialogue in the fic between the two where penelope is worrying about not being able to produce an heir, and odysseus soothes her then says something like “who cares, i got to marry penelope of sparta” and jokes that if they don’t have kids, Ctimene (and or possibly her children) would make a good ruler. basically he wouldn’t care much if they couldn’t have kids bc he would rather marry her and have no kids, than not be able to be with her at all

2. the second might have been set after odysseus’s return but im not completely sure, if it wasn’t then it was pre-war. it was at the very least slightly smutty, they’re lounging around and then penelope is riling him up, odysseus tells her that “the way you speak to me, any other man would start measuring the noose for your neck” or something very similar, but he’s super into her teasing. i remember that line very vividly bc i thought it was hot haha. penelope’s reply is basically like “good thing you like it then” lol.

Lately, I feel like my mind is going haywire.

I've been writing fanfiction for an anime/manga since 2022, and I still really enjoy it and read it repeatedly without problems.

However, lately, I've realized that I don't have the motivation, or I don't know, I'm lacking ideas to finish the fanfictions I write for this specific anime. I have three fanfictions with chapters already posted, and other ideas in progress.

Like, I have other manga that I've recently become interested in, and I want to write fanfictions for them too, and take a break from writing fanfictions for this anime/manga I've been writing since 2022.

However, I'm afraid of losing the knack for writing the characters, etc., of this anime/manga once my enthusiasm is renewed and I want to write for it again.

What should I do? Has anyone else encountered this same problem? How did you solve it?

I’ve been writing fanfics for as long as I can remember. I remember falling in love with my first story I’ve ever read on fan-fiction.net, reading people’s comments who give their thoughts and love for the story just as much as I have, and It inspired me to write my own stories too. I’ll admit, my first fanfic story I’ve ever written was down right terrible. Evident by the fact that even people in the comments pointed that out to me in, well, not a nice way. But those rude comments fueled my fire into bettering my writing style and over the years I darn well did. I’m happy at how far I’ve come.

However, in spite of my progress and betterment of my writing, I can’t help but notice something that has been bugging me for a while now. You ever had that moment where you put so much time, commitment, and effort into a project you’re passionate about? You spend night after night staying up to writing that one specific chapter. You write the words, you edited them, proofread it to ensure there aren’t any errors/mistakes that’ll raise a reader’s brow, and poof—you post it. Only then do you go to bed and check on it the next morning.

When morning comes so do the notifications regarding your story. The likes are there; the saves/kudos are there; and the comments. But the post comments is not what makes me angry. It’s the everyday soulless bots that post a comment to my story repeating the same song over, and over, and over again. And if it isn’t a bot, the comment section remains mostly empty. Yet, when I look at other people’s work (especially ones who I love reading from) whether they’re short chapters from 1 to 3, or long chapters from 20 to 40, I see whenever they post a new chapter that they get new comments every 2 to 5 seconds.

Seeing that everyday has left me with an uncomfortable question: am I doing something wrong? What am I doing wrong but they’re doing right? I followed the rules, I followed every steps like every other author in terms of writing, and I even improved my writing. Yet, why do I feel like all my hard work and efforts were moot? I’ve remind myself everyday that like me, people have lives outside of the internet. People who have jobs, school, and maybe even doing their time in college.

But I just can’t help but think this way.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for an old, dark/psychological Rick and Morty fanfiction. The main premise is that Rick uses Pavlovian conditioning on Morty. Every time Morty goes through an extremely traumatic experience or mission, Rick makes him a grilled cheese sandwich to force an emotional reset and calm his cortisol levels. It was likely posted on AO3 or FFN. Does anyone have a backup, the author's name, or a Wayback Machine link? Thanks!

Everyone is entitled to their free speech, smart and stupid alike. On the other hand, I know that this isn't the case when it comes to DA INTERNET, especially the fandoms that require a hazmat suit to engage with. Still, I don't want to hinder my creativity just because some of those in the audience will get TRIGGERED by something that shouldn't apply them, yet it does in a way. So question being:

"Can I make a decent fanfic that serves as satirical perspective on reality without the fear of getting hanged, drawn and quartered by both the audience and the moderators?"

I'm just considering the heated & hostile political/religious climate that surrounds us at this moment in time.

Fics that change everything related to those series, or follow canon but at some point there's a divergence.

Please tell me your favorites, I like long fanfics and fantasy only if it’s from GOT, otherwise I dismiss, I want something very medieval

Any fics with a character who thinks something horrible will happen to them at the hands of the other character(s), but the other character(s) just want to help them.

Preferably not something tagged with Mercyfic since I've already gone through most of those. I'm open to any length and pretty much any ship (there doesn't even have to be romance). I'm fine with arranged marriage trope, slavery au, etc.

I am new to writing fan fiction, and have noted that many authors seem to post fan fic a chapter at a time, What’s the reason for this? Is there a benefit?

I saw somewhere that by posting a chapter or two over time allows to get more hits and views as each time you post it appears as new and gets added attention. Is that true?

I ask because I have my story complete. But have only posted half so far. Have finished editing the rest so was thinking of just posting it all. But wanted to see if there really was a benefit.

I've started to see a lot more buzz about this alternative to Google Docs, especially on Tumblr. On first glance, I like how similar their functionality seems to be to Gdocs, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with them, if they're trustworthy, etc? I had tried out Ellipsus previously in the past, but it didn't have a lot of the features that I need, and I kept having huge issues with it not syncing. So I'm still on the hunt for a good alternative to Google Docs.

I’ve been reading up to chapter five of this fic on AO3 but struggled to find chapters six through nine. If anyone has a download that would be awesome, or any of their other work that is The Little Things or The Third Option.

I once left a comment on a Batman story that ended up actually helping the author finish it when they were having workers block, by pointing out things in the story that made it so that certain ideas wouldn’t make sense anymore. Anyone else have any stories of doing something similar?

I have 5 Kamen Rider OCs and I plan to write a fanfic for all of them.

The question I want to ask is: how do you manage your writing time if you're writing more than one fanfic at the moment?

I've been trying to remember the name of it for awhile now. It was kind of popular in 2008-2011. I remember it was very basic HTML with red and grey colouring and had a huge in memorial banner across the top of it with a picture of a guy sitting on a couch I believe. It was more so known for bandfic, I think, but it had all kinds of categories and I believe it started with an A?

I need help finding a Dr. Robby X reader fit. I remember almost all the details but I just can’t think of the name or find it. I’m 99% sure that I saw it on Tumblr for the first time. The premise is that Robby and the reader have been best friends for a long time now I think there is an age gap and I’m pretty sure the reader is also a doctor and not a nurse. They live right across from each other and they have an agreement where they swap out who makes coffee for the walk to work in the morning and they always walk to work together, but Robby ends up making the coffee most of the time because he has better coffee in his apartment. They also spend a lot of time together after work watching movies and ordering takeout and eating dinner since they live right across from one another in an apartment building. The drama of the story is when the reader‘s friend is coming into town and she goes out to dinner with him and Robby gets super jealous because he overhears that she’s doing that and some of the other coworkers at the pit are hyping her up and telling her that they’re excited for her to go on a date and get out there. It turns out later we find out the friend is gay and happily engaged to another man, but Robby doesn’t know that and he’s like jealous and upset. Then she comes back home from the date and I’m pretty sure that night he comes into her apartment and she’s like drinking wine and he confesses his love and she confesses her love and then they kiss and make up and do the devil’s tango. I’m pretty sure. And this whole time they both had feelings for each other and we’re in love with each other, but they both just kept pushing down those feelings and we’re not expressing them. I just can’t figure out what the title was or how to find it. Please help!

Hiii so basically I created a TikTok account to post the behind the scenes of my fics and said that in an Author’s Notes (AO3). One of my readers texted me on TikTok and we’ve been talking a lot and it’s been honestly great
At one point at like 2 AM, she got me so hyped for the next chapter that I went and edited it and posted it at 3 AM when i was planning on posting it the next day, just so that she could read it before sleeping
Point is, comments and interactions can really motivate authors so never hesitate!!! :D

I don't think I have enough information to post on the deleted subreddit, so I'm giving it a shot here. I'm 90% sure it has been deleted, I've scoured my bookmarks, and nothing of the like is there, and I know I had it marked.

I'll start by saying I'm so sorry, but I don't remember the name or author or title. I think the name included the word shadow. (Not "chasing shadows" I know that at least), but I'm not sure. it looks like it was deleted a while ago. I only recently recalled liking it and wanted to re read it, but no luck finding it.

It was a vampire, werewolf, omegaverse AU where Harry was a vampire, Valentine was a werewolf, and Eggsy was a hybrid of both. The plot involved Eggsy being taken to live with Harry while they figured out why Valentine was targeting him. I'm pretty sure Roxy was a faery. Fairy? I think it was spelled faery.

I'm so sorry if this isn't enough information to go on. I'm trying to remember more. :(
