Question? Forbidding a resource from being consumed

Is there a way to globally forbid a resource from being consumed? For example I want to upgrade my bakery, which needs 25 glassware, but other buildings and villager keep draining my glassware.

Is there a way to globally forbid certain materials from being used?

Bug! Unpathable terrain on completely flat terrain

Has anyone else seen this? i have had 3 villages recently give me a random block of unpathable terrain. Its virtually flat so i dont understand. the land around it is pretty flat with the most minor of hills. I even flattened the terrain and this one block is still unmappable. I have been playing this game for a while, so I'm not some newbie asking about it. Seems to be a recent addition to the game, have noticed this since the last big update

Question? Cows unhealthy,,,,,

Not sure what's going on. I have 3x full herds, all on good fodder land (100%), all have adequate food stores. Max workers... Only thing different is no fences (I have wolves and boars turned off).

Could the fences be the problem? Or a sewage/poop build up?

Question? Are there any similar games to this one, but that are like actually playable?

I love this game, but once you get past like 2500-3000 pop it just becomes an unplayable disaster. I also love games like this and I'm wondering if there's anything that is very similar to this but actually well designed and not just a total disaster of a lag fest. I've been trying to make it work, but I'm ready to give up on this until they do a serious update that makes it actually run well.

Question? What’s the best map seed?

Looking for a great seed with a large lake, lots of deer, plenty of resources, and deep/unlimited deposits for late game.

Any recommendations?

Tutorial/Guide You can (sort of) recruit wolves to be your defense barrier

Post image
55 Upvotes

In a map where you can funnel raiders and if there are wolves on the way, the first few raids will be completely destroyed by wolf packs.

What is a bit odd is I think the wolf attacks don't trigger if you don't have visibility, so just put an empty watchtower somewhere.

Question? Working Camp refusing to gather STONE

Post image
11 Upvotes

The following drives me crazy. I have built a Work Camp. The radius contains Stone, which i want to gather. I set the ratio to only stone and the building just goes idle. The moment i select a ratio with 1 wood, everyone gathers wood. I have build close by a Stockyard and a shelter. The never camp doesnt want to work.....

Entire horse company eliminated and on to the foot soldiers...Interestingly, they are quite effective against foot soldiers too

There's been a small post on steam revealing some information about upcoming content.

v1.2 will get a more complete preview in a month or so. Trading post is being overhauled as part of the changes.

v1.3 should release early next year. More information sometime after 1.2 releases.

Expansion is going... swimmingly. Will contain new production lines, mechanics, resources and more. Has been mentioned previously it'll be a next year release.

Question? Spirituality?

Hullo! I have a town with a pop of a lil under 3k, and I'm struggling to fufill my villagers's spirituality needs. I have the grand temple in the center of my city and have plenty of shrines outside of there- every suburb and residential district has 2 at this point, some upgraded some not since the only upgrade bonus is desirability. Any help? Do I need even *more* shrines?

Another problem is entertainment venues and tbh I'm not sure how to solve that lmao, more theaters? not a lot of optiosn for *venues*, just decorations

Just Chatting A few interesting map seeds

Spent the last two days trying to roll a decent large map - ideally with a large area bordered by water with few and narrow choke points (the ideal "peninsula" map) - also aiming to have a mountain/large hill near a choke point to act as the main defensive point.

Stats: large map, random type - the seed pool I rolled had both lakes and mountains with mainly flat areas in between.

I enlarged the mini-map for each and sketched out the water areas in blue, and any mountains in white - should be fairly self-explanatory.

EDIT: I forgot to mark a couple of small ponds south of the mountain in the last image

Question? What's the point of this storage building?

It's just the same as storehouse but worse due to smaller storage? The cost difference isn't even noticable and it's available LATER than storehouse. Am I missing something? It's not even listed on the wiki.

Question? Trading Post - Request this item at premium prices

So, am I just ridiculously unlucky that when I select an item that I would like at a premium price and the merchant never wants to buy said item and only sell it to me, or am I misunderstanding something here?

I need help understanding how the markets actually generate revenue. I've attached the screen shot. As you can see, there are 8 houses lit up. All 8 houses have 4 members each. Yet I'm only generating 5 gold? Should it not be 8?
