I just came across a bunch of maga accounts on instagram sharing old interviews of Elvis and Dolly Parton declining to discuss their political views, yet their dear leader was once a celebrity who is now president!

It’s literal bloodshed in the US caused by MAGA against minorities and the LGBTQ+ community and Randy Quaid is a vocal supporter of MAGA. Jack Quaid needs to distance himself from his uncle and publicly disavow him. I’m tired of all the evil MAGA has done and they can’t be tolerated anymore. Once the Democratic Socialists of America take over, we can finally have magats arrested, but for now, prominent people like Jack Quaid need to step up and at least vocalize their concern. Silence is violence.

Right now is about the time in the weekend I would give my dad a call. But no, it's not going to happen. I made up with him when I said I'd disown anyone still supporting Trump on Facebook. That was a mistake.

Met up with him for dinner. The piece of shit goes passively aggressively "I just wanted to make sure I mattered in your life still." I sucked it up when I should've told him to fuck right off.

This is the problem though. People like us... those on the left... our first instinct is to seek compromise over conflict. And that's actually a good thing. But it's also a double-edged sword.

The problem is with these Republican fucks, they don't seek compromise. They seek to control you.

So I'm not calling my dad again, like ever. If he wants to pick up the phone that's his prerogative. He's on his way out of course, and to be honest, I don't even want to attend that piece of shit's funeral.

So no, don't go crying about me about how I don't value you, you piece of fucking shit. You ALWAYS make me call you. You NEVER call me. Relationships are a two-way street asshole. My Democrat mom has no problems calling me all the time. And yet, you do somehow.

Hi everyone. I am making this post because I am finally out of the closet, living 100% as my authentic self, and I need to face my past.
For a long time, I was a Republican and heavily bought into the MAGA/Fox News mindset. Looking back, I realize I was completely terrified. I was trapped in the closet, hiding who I was, and consumed by the fear that being queer meant I was going to hell. I let that fear turn into anger, and I held deeply racist and homophobic views. I projected my own internal suffering outward and caused real harm. I am so deeply ashamed of who I supported and how I acted.
But the closet didn't protect me, it just made me hateful.
Recently, my egg cracked. I finally realized and accepted that I am a trans woman. I am also bisexual and in a happy, loving relationship with a masculine man. Since coming out, the LGBTQ+ community has shown me nothing but grace and forgiveness—which has made me realize even more how wrong I was.
I’m meeting with a case manager tomorrow and going to a local Pride wellness center fully out and presenting femme. I am done hiding. I am dedicating this next chapter of my life to my transition, educating myself, and actively finding ways to volunteer and make amends to the communities I hurt.
I just wanted to share my realization here because this sub understands the grip that media mindset can have on a person. Thank you for listening, and I am genuinely so sorry for the person I used to be. I'm ready to do the work to be better.

Just under two years ago, I (37m) had a relationship go bad and I made a few poor decisions which led to me needing to stay with my mom (66) for a few months as I got back on my feet. This developed into an indefinite length of time when she disclosed to me that if I got my own place again, she would be unable to afford the mobile home she lives in. I've been staying with her since early 2025 helping keep the bills paid and helping around the house.

This works out in a purely practical sense, because my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease about three years ago, and it's at a point now where she sometimes needs help just to get out of her chair. My father hasn't been in the picture since I was 4, and before I moved back in, my brother had been living with her. That has now changed.

My mother's Islamophobia had already led, seven or eight years ago, to my sister deciding to go nearly no-contact with her. My sister has always been relatively independent and lives with her best friend, so my mom was able to rationalize her distance as "just being an adult".

Unfortunately, shortly before I moved back in, my mother and my brother had another of their (many) fights about politics. My mother is, though she claims to no longer be, the only staunch Trump supporter in the family and my brother struggles with mental illness (he's diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder). They had fought about politics quite a number of times, but during a particular explosive episode I was unfortunate enough to be present for, she said some horrible things to him which have resulted in him going essentially completely no-contact with her. He has answered exactly two of her texts in the time since he moved out of her place, and has not visited her a single time.

I am now the only one of her children who can still tolerate spending any time around her at all, and as the eldest, I feel responsible for not letting her become completely isolated from the world. She has no friends, only leaves the house to do chores, and even her own siblings rarely call or visit her.

This isolation is not entirely the result of her political views. She is pro-Trump, anti-Islam, thinks Mamdani is part of a Muslim plot to overthrow New York, believes there is a conspiracy of medical professionals to "mutilate young girls" with gender reassignment, and a number of other horrifying conspiracy and anti-equality views that I won't bother listing because the ones I've named are some of the worst of it. You can probably imagine the others easily enough.

I say her isolation is *not* because of her political views, because it isn't - the isolation is because she *refuses to stop bringing her politics into every single conversation she ever has*. This is where my struggle comes in, because I'm living with her, and even though I have a section of the mobile home which is mine, I do have to share space with her often enough. Nearly every single time our paths cross she brings up her political views and I have tried *everything* from politely asking her not to, to telling her bluntly that I don't want to speak about it with her, to one time unfortunately losing my cool completely and *shouting* at her that she was continuing to cross every boundary I had. Nothing has ever changed her behavior and this *continues* to happen on a weekly basis.

My life has begun to recover from the poor relationship decisions I made two years ago and I have more options about making my own way now, but I feel like a failure of a son for wanting to avoid spending time with my sick mother. She's begun speaking about euthanasia recently (we live in Canada) as her disability worsens and it's painful to know that I'm missing out on what might be some of the last time I'll get with my mother because I can't bear to hear her talking about how good Trump is for the world or how the Muslims are going to make all our women wear hijabs.

What I learned after spending an afternoon with the people I'd spent two years avoiding.

I recently saw a TikTok where this guy was talking about how he thinks Pete Hegseth gives off family annihilator vibes. See, I disagree. I can see more of a Brad Pitt-type situation. Like a situation where he’s drunk or coked out while with wife and kids, argument triggers something to the point where he’s throwing hands on them and staff are calling for help and eventually a divorce and the kids publicly distancing themselves from him when they reach adulthood. All I’m gonna say is, if DV or child abuse allegations come out in the future, for some reason, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Stephen Miller, on the other hand…. looks like someone you see in a true crime documentary.

Republicans have a set of rules for the world, most of which involve things other people are doing incorrectly. 

I swore I wasn't going to put this stuff on the internet anymore but here I am.

My mom has always been conservative and went absolutely full-on MAGA nutter during Covid. Sent me pages of "information" every day about how Covid isn't real or the numbers are fake and the vaccine will kill you, believes in vaccine shedding and insists people are still getting sick and dying from a shot they took 5y ago because "mRNA does not belong in a human body". There's much more, and while I care about her, it's exhausting to listen to sometimes.

However, this is about the recalls, and how it has NOTHING to do with the FDA funding cuts and regulation rollbacks.

You see, the FDA has always been untrustworthy, no one has ever taken them THAT seriously. And the Trump admin didn't take THAT much money or personnel from them anyway. The wunderkinds at DOGE kicked out all the useless DEI people who were getting paid 6 figures to do nothing, nobody we actually need.

All these recalls are because of illegal immigrants. "Those people" are SO dirty and unhygienic, they're contaminating all the food they pick and process; and so low-IQ and illiterate the ones working in plants can't understand how to do their jobs (which they got via DEI) so we end up with plastic and glass in prepared foods. If only we had white Americans doing these jobs, none of this would happen!

I wish I was joking, but I don't even know where my mom is getting this info. And she's offended that I don't trust anything current-events-related that she relays to me. No mom, I don't think you, specifically, are lying to me. I think you get your info from highly questionable sources.
