Sewing machine on cold start

I have 2003 gsxr 600. Runs pretty good but on cold start it sounds like a sewing machine. Idk if it’s normal. From what I’ve gathered online they are tricky bikes. I’ll add a video when I get home.

Does it have the stock exhaust?

A lot of bikes sound alike that without upgraded exhausts

It’s not stock but it’s one for a 2013 gsxr I think. Previous owner put it on

Open header and exhaust on mine. Mine is super clacky on cold starts but once it’s warm it quiets down significantly. Just part of the bike I believe. 2006 R750
