p2w aspects like the opresser is why gta RP did so well on PC to the point rockstar was trying to get it removed...

84

u/CyanideAnarchy 1d ago

True, sure. And then they realized GTA RP was what was keeping the game so relevant years later. So much so that they bought and brought them on because they know they can make even more money.

17

u/Nysyth * 19h ago

People always say this that GTA RP is the reason GTA is still popular after all these years yet casually ignore the fact that Online still has full servers 24/7 13 years later. I can log onto online any time of the day & know I’m going to see people playing. How many other online games can say that outside of a handful of competitive shooters & WoW?

7

u/gustis40g 18h ago

I mean there's basically no other game that has sold as well as GTA V so obviously even after all this time there would still be a large playerbase. The only online game that has sold better than GTA V is Minecraft, which also happens to have a way larger playerbase today too.

When comparing to how many active online players relative to how many owns the game that doesn't play it anymore GTA V probably does rather poorly, I have no friends that actively play GTA V anymore for example, but we still play other games similarly old such as War Thunder and Siege.

u/thejoyofbeing1 16h ago

Countless others, check Steam Stats.

2

u/ATwistedSolo 18h ago

Rust, pretty massive survival game that came out in 2013, but yeah I agree. 5M isn't the only reason GTA is still popular

I think it’s in the context of PC players. Although PC also always had full servers too, I seriously imagine it was kind of a gateway to modding anyway since every server also had 3-4 hackers/modders. So much so that the gta on pc forums warn players away from playing on vanilla online servers because you can get caught in a ban by just being present on the server with them.

2

u/KumikoShy 16h ago

I'm here to remind you that the game has no servers other then servers what host your data like character details, cloud saves and matchmaking of sorts.

Game uses peer to peer so it's very bad.

Runescape, Warthunder I guess? Idk lol thats all I can think of

10

u/Nysyth * 18h ago

Probably, my point is GTA is still popular after all these years because of Online. Outside of the Reddit hivemind that seems to have a raging hard on for RP you’d be hard pressed to find people that even know what GTA RP is let alone have played it.

3

u/Top-Candidate 15h ago

Rockstar does seem to be more interested in the RP side of things for online in gta6 tho

Just keeping the game relevant is crazy when console players don’t have access to gta online and account for most of the playerbase

Rockstar hired the guys that made fivem and redm, when they acquired cfx re.

gives me atleast some hope to the future of gta6 online

2

u/Virtual_Cold90 14h ago

Remember SA activities where you could be an EMT and a vigilante?

They need to bring that into online as roles to make money. Go life sim instead of defaulting everyone to kingpin CEO's.

By extension, it worries me because R* wants you to spend cash to add anti-tracking to your vehicles. All the more reason to add a mrkIII :(

Ugh, it’s an endless cycle. And yet I’ll be addicted to it.

The whole realistic wanted level system is gonna be for completely nothing if they add the Oppressor again

164

u/Aurelio_Casillas 1d ago

You can only carry two weapons at once but this flying broomstick shoots 20 homing missles

28

u/SnooOpinions1643 1d ago

you’ll prolly be able to carry more in Online as there’ll be some p2w clothing equipment.

4

u/Skunke_yt 1d ago

Another reason to just play the story

→ More replies (1)

7

u/Saint-Caligula 1d ago

For an old guy new to the game. What is the "Oppressor"?

16

u/alekstoo 1d ago

basically an all-powerful, overpowered flying motorcycle which shoots rockets. very unbalanced + completely out of place

6

u/ArmandoGalvez 19h ago

Wait, are you sure this isn't from saints row 3? What the fuck happened in GTA online? I only played a little on the 360 back then but I didn't liked it, so I never got into GTA V in newer consoles or PC because I already was done with the main story in the 360

4

u/snack217 16h ago

As years went by, they started adding "special" vehicles to keep the game fresh and to bring more variety to the DLC missions. This bike wasnt the first, first we got the Deluxo, A.K.A the Back to the Future DeLorean, which was also a flying car with missiles.

And yeah the Oppressor lives up to this name, because the problem is that it was abused by griefers and toxic people, and its size and speed made it a lot harder to counter-attack. But it just worsened a problem that had always been there, griefers, but at least back in the day, worst they could get was a buzzard helicopter, which was slower, hard to handle, and easy to take down, but still a probem.

But on the other hand, as the game became more and more about grinding and doing business stuff and doing heist preparation missions, the Oppressor bike is a blessing, nothing even comes close to it, incredibly easy to use, to take off and land absolutely anywhere and with zero crashing risks, to attack NPCs, etc. Game really needed something like this if you really wanted to maximize your earnings per day.

17

u/ChillCucumberZ 1d ago

The most dumb, most OP flying vehicle ever. Made GTA online virtually unplayable after it was released

9

u/AscendMoros 20h ago

The First one was not anywhere near the mark 2. It was annoying AF, but it had some drawbacks if i remember right. The Mark 2 took everything that was a weakness with the first one and just got rid of it.

Keep all that flying cars and shit out of the game for a few years at least Rockstar im begging you.

7

u/silentdeath3012 18h ago

Mk1 could only glide and wasn't even that good but still fun. Mk2 was total cancer.

6

u/Saint-Caligula 1d ago

Thank you

3

u/FashionSuckMan 21h ago

A flying motorcyle that that shoots missiles

3

u/PerpetualStride 1d ago

Take off and land instantly, shoots homing missiles, ruins the game from every perspective, as a normal player you dont need the variety of different vehicle types anymore, same goes for the tryhard (the player focused on killing other players for no reason)

2

u/JackKnightmare 20h ago

I quitted online after the realization that using the oppressor mkII makes the game so boring that it feels more like a job than a game, since there is no obstacles or steering from point a to point b to destroy x target with a single missile, also by making you buy a missile jammer or nerfing the hydra(the only effective counter to it at the time) to encourage you to buy the most recent and most expensive jet, the raiju which is faster and more maneuvarable for only 8500000 gta$

→ More replies (10)

5

u/Material-Bee4845 1d ago

Opresser was the main reason why I stopped playing the game.

8

u/The-Cunt-Spez 23h ago

Well, that and a myriad of other things. Every time I opened GTA online I was blasted with messages to do this, buy that, limited time event, don’t miss out on x or y etc. It was an information flood that always made me wanna stop playing. And I did.

3

u/CrookedSunshades 20h ago

You can turn all those all those notifications off, and you can play gta online in solo lobbies. There's still a ton of new missions, a couple solo heists that are fun, and for any fan of the series, definitely worth playing.

It would be “fine” if they sent the military / jets after you if you got six stars or were griefing on the oppressor

GTA Online is Rockstars true cash cow, after everything they did in GTAV i would no be surprised if GTA 6 Online goes off the rails with dumb shit within 2 years. GTA Online is likely the reason we never got GTAV DLC or Undead Nightmare 2 as well.

53

u/Topikk 1d ago

Counterpoint: everyone I know in real life stopped playing Online after a few years because you couldn't do much of anything without being constantly spammed by homing rockets coming from land, sea, and air.

As much money as they made selling this bullshit, I think they left money on the table by disrupting the balance so quickly and thoroughly. It's entirely possible they try to keep people in the disposable income demographics playing longer this time around.

22

u/Slow__Cheeta 1d ago

Id like to think GTA6 Online will be a more grounded experience im not getting my hopes up though. I fully agree that GTA Online was bullshit that shouldn't have lasted and still lasting as long as it did while receiving new content when other dlc and games for that matter could have been made.
No denying that cash dump accumulated a fortune that allowed GTA6 to be as ambitious as it is though

9

u/ramblin_troubadour 1d ago

The fact they abandoned red dead 2 for that slop still makes me so mad to this day. If there’s one thing I hate rockstar for it’s that. Why tf would you spend all that time making a game to abandon it for a game that was already out for 5 years. It’s so absurd. Fuck GTAV online. Rdr2 online is just the same regurgitated shit

6

u/Slow__Cheeta 1d ago

I agree with you, i understand GTA is the real money maker but integrity should still be relevant. Never getting Undead Nightmare 2 feels like a crime, not even a next gen update for RDR2

u/Nder_Wiggin 20h ago

Bro they left pennies on the table.

GTA V Online was/is one of the highest grossing online video game economies in history with over $5Billion with a B in revenue.

Most players didn't quit they paid real money to do what was done to them to others

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Hansi_Olbrich 22h ago

Dan Houser straight up admitted that it was more profitable for Rockstar to spend 4-6 hours with a small team making a car to sell with a Shark-Card than it was for them to spend several months with a dev team to make a serious expansion pack of DLC series.

The reason RDO never expanded was because it wasn't making a billion dollars worth of revenue within 12 months. For Take2/Rockstar, if it doesn't automatically print billions of dollars for the least amount of work possible they won't do it.

They can brag all day long about horse testicles shrinking in the cold but Rockstar gets real quiet when you ask why they bothered to make Mexico/New Austin/Isle of Guam if there was never any intention to have players actually go there for anything.

9

u/lfenske 1d ago edited 1d ago

Right? As someone who doesn’t play GTA online I’m pretty comfortable saying that the revenue it generates is the reason rockstar felt comfortable spending (I’ve heard as high as) 2.8 billion dollars on this game. All said and done I guess Rockstar made 4-5 billion dollars on GTA 5 game sales alone. Thats not enough to justify spending 2.8b on a game. My guess is they’re going to try and go bigger and “better” with the online and shit will most definitely get “out of hand”

Kind of a double edged sword. Without the online cash generator GTA 6 would likely be a much much smaller and less impressive game.

u/Corrupted_spartan117 1d ago

Definitely a big fear of mine too, but one of my biggest ones is them once again making earning money (the main gameplay loop of the game) unbearably grindy. I'm not saying making money should be quick, but they really need to figure out how to make prep work fun.

Unfortunately, i doubt this will change though, considering its most likely intentional to encourage the purchase of shark cards.

9

u/FatherHaz 1d ago edited 1d ago

Money grinding is going to be more tedious with the new realism features; updated wanted/police system, limited weapon loadout, refueling vehicles, etc.

It’s going to result into more people buying GTA+ and Shark Cards.

Since they are taking a bit longer to release Online. I wonder if they will keep those features or make Online more arcadey to appeal to the current GTA Online crowd aka Oppressor MK2/Shark Card whales.

55

u/MarkOfTheVoid 1d ago

They better fucking not

11

u/RATGUT1996 1d ago

Oh yea if I even smell a vehicle like this added to online its an automatic bail. Put up with that shit for too too long and I still to this day advocate for its removal from the game as a whole. Fuck the mk2!

11

u/AnObtuseOctopus 23h ago

I don't want any of that made up future shit.. none of it. I don't want the little gun that sends shit flying, the laser guns, the flying cars and bikes.. none of it.

I'm sorry, but, I loved GTA V, had a lot of fun with my buddies.. but, as soon as all that stupid future shit showed up, it killed the feel. It wasn't GTA anymore.. it became sharkcard simulator. It killed the entire feel of the world, killed the excitement of cop chases, killed having any reason to do petty crime, killed races, killed missions, it literally ruined everything that made GTA V what people loved it for.

I'd much rather they stay rooted in the world they created.. and not add a bunch of fantasy ass sci-fi sharkcard bait that is going to make this entire world pointless.... Again.

22

u/TNovix2 1d ago

They won't go that route again, it's clear they want to keep it "real" and more grounded. I can't see them doing broomsticks again or going the futuristic tech route

9

u/Shookicity 21h ago edited 1h ago

The single player, sure. But Rockstar understandably likes their money and shit like this makes them a lot of it. GTA Online will probably stay grounded for a while but i’d be surprised if they don’t start adding rocket cars and whatnot within a year.

9

u/angryshib 1d ago

Give it a few years. They will have jumped the proverbial shark by the time the ps6 release rolls around.

2

u/ThisAintMyMayne 19h ago

RemindMe! 2 years

→ More replies (7)

4

u/TheFlaccidWorm 1d ago

It'll start grounded for the first 2-3 years and then they'll probably start adding wacky stuff

7

u/zfighters8103 1d ago

With how much emphasis they are putting on realism and immersion I wouldn't be too worried imo. They'll probably keep 5 online for all the future slop and keep 6 online grounded

6

u/AdelBazzi 1d ago

I hope THIS SHIT DOESNT EXIST

3

u/No_Tomorrow_719 23h ago

I have faith they’ll keep it grounded, im honestly so happy looking through all the gta 6 media and i haven’t seen any merryweather, or any type of military and jets in the world

8

u/lfenske 1d ago

I personally have 0 concern about GTA 6 online bc I’ll put that many hours into it.

2

u/Pulian_ 1d ago

Never been an RP guy but I’m PRAYING that their community has had like 90% influence on online, given R* literally bought out Fivem (maybe not fully but to some extent) and the crazy amount of rpg features in story mode already

2

u/lilStankfur 1d ago

Hopefully if they do bring this back there will be a vanilla server and a server for this kind of stuff

2

u/lil-tortilla-chip 1d ago

pre-oppressor GTA online was sweet. buzzards, jets, helis everywhere. this thing just wiped out the entire ecosystem

3

u/flynxd 1d ago

jet griefers were just as annoying and destructive as oppressor griefers

4

Give us a homing rocket launcher that cannot be avoided, for example it will destroy it with one rocket but other vehicles take less damage so atleast we can fight off the trolls.

Ain't gonna be a gta 6 online

2

u/Mrballz- 17h ago

I really hope GTA 6 has a proper item shop like Fortnite and Ubisoft games. Some of us have jobs and responsibilities and simply don’t have 300 hours to waste grinding for the good stuff.
Let me buy the best assault rifle on day one, a supercar and a luxury apartment with real money so I can skip all that boring “building your criminal empire” stuff. Then I can jump straight into the endgame and start blasting high-level NPCs.
Honestly, I’d even like a battle pass with exclusive weapons, outfits and properties each season. It would be way more convenient than actually having to earn anything.
And please add daily challenges, limited-time cosmetics and rotating shops to single-player too. I don’t want some outdated RDR2-style experience where I actually have to live in the world, make money and organically work my way up. I have a job in real life, I don’t need another one in GTA.
Rockstar should understand that immersion is nice, but monetisation is forever.

i mean with the fuel in car, that thing will run for 30 second, so the replacement will probably be slower and more like a drone/quadcopter

now add amunation to vehicle this will have 2 missile at max

1

u/Sweaty_Connection160 1d ago

The ability to carry only 2 weapons will already solve a couple of issues.

But either way the whole game goes in a different direction than gta v, im sure they are going to keep it more realistic and grounded than gta online. But be prepared for some Rockstar bs, thats guaranteed

1

u/smorgasbard 1d ago

well strap in, R* is gonna do what they can to take your money.

1

u/Ok-Midnight9311 1d ago

Your biggest concern should be that you’re concerned about it when it’s not been been announced

1

u/57evil 1d ago

GTA 6 is not that arcade to add this kind of vehicles... I hope

1

u/Inevitable-Ext4066 1d ago

I ditched GTAV before this abomination came to fruition and heard of the horror stories. I think it will come back but severely nerfed, will be nice to taste the tears of the griefers who won't be happy

1

u/Spiritual-Pudding-70 1d ago

Jason Duvall ladies and gentlemen

1

u/Iluvatar-Great 1d ago

I just want some street thug fantasy, robbing small stores with one pistol, limited ammo, making $100 in one run, saving up money to buy a decent car...

Now having billions, and all flying cars and people shooting bazookas in the streets... That's just meaningless and not satisfying at all.

1

u/TTheuns 1d ago

I really hope GTA VIs’ more realistic approach gets carried over, and we will not have access to any weaponized vehicles.

1

u/ohthedarside 1d ago

The most crazy stuff i want in online is a weaponless flying car (delorian) and the mk1 oppresor bike (no weapons either)

Silly fun stuff is cool nut as soon as you add weapons to it , it just ruins the game

1

u/odd-god-monkey 1d ago

Mine is their ugly greed

1

u/RixDixRox 1d ago

This is bound to happen

1

u/Roberthen_Kazisvet 1d ago

I am pretty sure it will not be there at start, but later for sure. You do to need to buy it even now and just enjoy invite only sessions with friends.

1

u/WizzardHairy 1d ago

Genuinely

1

u/toastronomy 1d ago

it will happen, all that's left to see is if they're going to give people who just want to play normally a separate session or gamemode.

1

u/SoggyValuable6575 1d ago

Not necessarily exactly this but some vehicle(s) like it will come to GTA VI Online. Question is not will they be added, its after what number of years from release will they be added. My prediction is something between 6 and 8 years.

1

u/LOGGATO 1d ago

just make it an air bike with NO guns.

1

u/Adventurous-Soft-501 1d ago

They could make it silly and grounded . Such as introducing silly weapons like the dildo bat from saints row. Items you can realistic acquire in VC.

1

u/Ghostman223 1d ago

Enjoy that first year before online and pc modding because you know it’s coming after that

1

u/Secure-Bear4184 1d ago

Can we just not have online and make single player DLC just this once 🙏🏻

1

u/ZeMiii14 1d ago

i already know gta 6 online is gonna go wild, as much as I'd like it grounded, I'm sure the grounded aspect will change in a year after online is released. My ONLY hope is that they've learned from the problems in gta online and give us balanced vehicles and weapons.

1

u/AloneCamp4880 1d ago

yeah i’m gonna stick with sixm when that eventually drops but i do have some hope they won’t fuck it up because RDO was pretty good with realism and fairness and they only started adding in silly clothes at the very end of its lifespan. but they did kill off RDO because the grind for gold bars was actually really quite fair so it wasn’t making them the big bucks like GTAO was. never needed to buy gold at all in RDO, and by the time i quit playing i had like 300 bars. i don’t have a lot of faith but i think they probably will lean closer to RDO than GTAO just with a way worse grind and it’s also probably going to have a separate price tag than 6’s story mode.

1

u/locob 23h ago

I hope for FPV bomb drones on day 1

1

u/Lazy-Interest-2866 23h ago

my biggest concern is that you have to pay a subscription fee to play online

1

u/chrisbot128 23h ago

Really, they just need server browsers with specific modes and payout boost/reductions based on server parameters. (Chill servers with no oppressors have reduced payouts… similar to how selling in full lobbies boosts payouts now)

1

u/alvaropuerto93 23h ago

Stuff like this is the reason why I never really enjoyed playing online.

1

u/ascarymoviereview 23h ago

Biggest concern: I won’t be alive when it’s finally released

1

u/T1-NK 23h ago

I don’t think they make that mistake again, i believe they would have removed it if they felt like they could.

1

u/BigGiantRetard 23h ago

itll probably happen honestly, it is what it is

1

u/Bill_International 23h ago

It will be way worse 😂

1

u/Electrical-War-9452 23h ago

It will take a few years til we get there , they’re aiming for realism more this time you can tell

1

u/CryptographerLow6360 22h ago

heres a sneak peak of the season 3 battlepass skin

1

u/Trick_Sell_5541 22h ago

Played online for a total of 10 seconds because of this bullshit creation

1

u/Vegetable-Lab-8388 22h ago

Dont worry, it will be there. In different form but gta 6 online will have its own dumb unrealistic and OP piece of vehicle

1

u/Luvythicus 22h ago

I wanna say I heard that they didn't want things like the Oppressor in GTA 6.... But then again, no idea how true it is, and hey, shit can always change. For me, honestly, keep it at choppers like the Buzzards and maybe a jet like the Lazer, at most, nothing more than that. I like the grounded feel...

1

u/MaterialThen887 22h ago

We were calling it GTA Online… now its GTA “6” Online🥺🥲

1

u/BreadPapiii 22h ago

if the whales dealt with it in 5, and kept playing, they would probably deal with it in 6 unfortunately.

I won't play online if they have that BS

1

u/It_Saw_Good 22h ago

I hope they put it in the game, I cannot imagine GTA without my oppressor

1

u/yewEngine 22h ago

A special vehicle for special players.

1

u/Welshevens 22h ago

I expect they will exist but the lobby structure will allow us who want a more grounded experience to avoid them

1

u/BartlebyFpv 22h ago

It's gonna be 100x crazier than GTA 5 online. More flying shit.

1

u/FashionSuckMan 21h ago

Im sure things will be much more tame, at least for a while. With how you can only have so many guns on you at once, and with how the new wanted system works, it would be a waste to give us such absurdly powerful immersion breaking vehicles

1

u/Kat_Schrodinger1 21h ago

It's not a question of if, it's how much peace we will have until it happens.

1

u/Ramja9 21h ago

Nah don't worry! Rockstars innovative 3 billion dollar cars that look like normal cars but actually can dodge or have resistance against it's missiles will come soon.

Although don't get to comfortable in them champ, because they'll add the "Fuck you in particular canon" that kills any player anywhere. Costs 20 dollars to fire so get that credit card ready.

If this isn't enough then they'll sell you more solutions to the problem they caused. Armored flying cars, jets, helicopters. You won't shoot a normal gun ever again!

Make sure to grind whatever heist gives the most money solo. Have enough money from the grind? No you don't. Get five times more before they nerf that heist to the ground.

1

u/J_Duval_VI 21h ago

Please no

1

u/ShardsOfOsiris 21h ago

If it were up to me we wouldn't even have tanks or dogfight jets. Just cars, bikes and non-military grade planes/helicopters. Keep it grounded.

But meet my unpopular down the middle and we can settle on ''just no James Bond shit pls''.

So, yeah. Just no James Bond shit pls.

1

u/Mamoas_Twin 21h ago

Side note. Why the heck does it need mirrors??

1

u/MapNational3629 21h ago

i doubt it, this is how you’d divide a player base faster than anything. they lost the plot with gta 5 because it basically turned into a meme for how long the game was out n no sign of another to come .. this would only happen if gta 7 came out in like 2040

1

u/FreeFalling369 21h ago

All that futuristic bs with no thought to balancing as well, ruined gta

1

u/aura_enchanted 21h ago

This will happen, I guarantee it

1

u/Scorpdelord 20h ago

yeh they need to fk off with all these thing, multiplayer lobbies became just one loser flying around making it unfun for eveyone

1

u/Mountain_Kiwi_2210 20h ago

they said no flying vehicles expect maybe planes or helis

1

u/Zxar99 20h ago

Probably won’t see that for like 1 or 2 years

1

u/smorgasbard 20h ago

!RemindMe 2 years

1

u/Professional-Card-22 20h ago

I doubt we'll have that

1

u/Ok_Excuse1388 20h ago

That's not really something concern me. what really concern me is take 2 CEO want to increase players spending ratio on video games which obliviously mean the GTA 6 online will be to grindy just to force players to buy sharkcards and microtransactions.

1

u/Nder_Wiggin 20h ago

They are gonna have it or something equally as annoying. Research found that though people complained about this in GTA V instead of not playing anymore they grinded harder OR what Rockstar really wanted the entire time, paid real money so that they could buy one themselves and grief others like they were griefed

1

u/jordanuniverse42 20h ago

I'm not touching that shit with a 10 foot pole.

1

u/Heavy-Argument6238 20h ago

I could’ve swore that there was an official statement saying that vehicles relating to the oppressor would not be appearing in 6 because the are trying to stay semi realistic with a good goofy vehicles probably like the jet pack from San Andreas

1

u/Advanced_Plankton_60 20h ago

Ruined it for me, never went back

1

u/Angry-Closet 20h ago

I hope the most you are able to buy in terms of moded vehicles is maybe bullet proof and to be able to take more explosion damage than a normal vehicle. Then there are military vehicles and those would be OK. But please for the love of God no flying cars/motorcycles!

1

u/bigtheo408 20h ago

Im more concerned rockstar has yet to mention gta6 online

1

u/Demolition_Boy87 20h ago

E é questão de tempo, não se iludam. Eu tenho medo das Avangers, para 8 ocupantes, sendo vendidas por 2 mil dolares igual naquele joguinho bait espacial.

1

u/aceless0n 19h ago

Loooovvvve is a long long MK2

1

u/ColShvotz 19h ago

I sleep so well at night not caring about GTA Online.

1

u/TezzyWezzyy 19h ago

Lmao they are most def gonna add dumb shit to online but hopefully the first 3 or more years will be calm 😭

1

u/nissanfan64 19h ago

I don’t mind the idea of the Oppressor at all but I do hope the online stays a bit grounded for a few a years before they drop the silly broomsticks of death.

After years of gta online having a super quick and easy travel option was fantastic.

1

u/Chesse_cz 19h ago

My biggest concern is they gonna make it another battlefield instead of GTA... plus i hope they learned from GTA Online ans RDR Online to avoid same mistakes with how players can be toxic and i hope they wont force public sessions if they bring those terrible jobs.... i realy hated to spend x hours to replenish warehouse and then while selling it some kid with jet destroyed it wasting my and friends time.... well that was in second year of Online, maybe they changed it. I didnt play it feom that point as it turned in BF....

1

u/666James420 19h ago

I think late into the life cycle they'll resort to this but I'm really hoping we get a solid 6-7 years of online before they pull crap like this

1

u/ArcAirum 19h ago

I swear to god if it’s in the game I will not be buying it.

1

u/BarryWhizzite 19h ago

online is for fake fans

1

u/HYPD 18h ago

This is why I stopped playing

1

u/MaoHangDong_ 18h ago

Seperate game i hope

1

u/ImportantTeaching919 18h ago

They already said that kind of stuff isn't coming back at all, they want to keep a grounded experience and realistic. I do think we will get expanded maps because of the patents. During a interview they said every NPC and interior was handcrafted by a art team. But the patents revealed they made a system to make interiors and NPCs based off keywords and assets they made so basically procedurally generated to simplify it. But they didn't use it in GTA 6. So I think it's for map expansion and would explain why vice city airport is so Big. We might have the ability to fly to different updated cities. Plus we can go into the airport for the first time as shown in the reveal.

1

u/Skipper1111111 18h ago

Don’t let it happen, please

1

u/IcebatWage 18h ago

Good thing I'm not addicted to GTA6 online so I can just not even start playing if that shit is there day one.

1

u/DarkKnightTazze 17h ago

They surely wouldn’t be dumb enough to that again right? …right??

1

u/LumpyProperty3781 17h ago

If we get shit like that they might as well trash it or focus on story dlc, I don’t want any futuristic bullshit people can use to grief I’m trynna chill, and as a matter of fact go ahead and put all the kids an griefers in their own lobby and let them have at each other 😂

1

u/L1QU1D_ThUND3R 17h ago

I hope it will be at least a few years before this happens. If at all.

1

u/kinglyIII 17h ago

That shit singlehanded made me stop playing gta v when it came out and I never went bacm

1

u/DragonPAul_Z 17h ago

Oppressors? Really?!

Your biggest worry is a vehicle that is easily countered, terribly piloted half the time, and is basically only good against the unexperienced?

Maybe at one time it was a real threat, but those things get blown out of the sky more often not these days.

I say bring 'em on

1

u/Cautious_Feedback_18 17h ago

There is no gta 6 online

1

u/HikerRemastered 17h ago

I'm not remotely concerned about GTA 6 Onlines vehicles. Can't play online if you never purchase the game

1

u/Hateful15 16h ago

I love logging into gay online and getting insta killed by a jet, so fun.

1

u/ksmashd 16h ago

They should put it in the story mode after the main story is over, or even before, so whoever wants to experience it can use it. But definitely not in online 🙏🏻 😭

1

u/T0RREZZ 16h ago

sounds like a you problem

1

u/sharkyzilla 16h ago

this is exactly what's going to happen, gta online has made rockstar literally billions, and it's only gonna get worse in 6, we saw what they did in red dead online with nerfing actually good money making methods so it was either 8 hours of nonstop grinding or 20 dollars worth of gold bars to buy something. Gold bars will absolutely make a return in their own way in 6 online when they add stuff like the oppressor mk3, it'll either be 20 million dollars which'll take a whole week worth of grinding to afford for free or 25 dollars of whatever premium currency online will have.

1

u/Slaphappyfapman 15h ago

If you think its not going to be like this, you're deluded.

1

u/renz88xf 14h ago

They won’t make the same mistake again, they said it themselves

1

u/OMGFuck2019 14h ago

What are you afraid of? An efficient way to get around the map? I’m tired of people whining about these!

1

u/Mother_Apricot4928 14h ago

Karma farming How many times you people post this same shit

1

u/Zeke_The_Angel 13h ago

Something like this?

1

u/EZyne 13h ago

Meh, public lobbies are always gonna be a mess anyways. Just play invite only lobbies and it's all fine

1

u/Rachet20 13h ago

Nah, keep the weird stuff.

1

u/hakkama 12h ago

Gta 6 Online will have more micro transactions dont worry.

1

u/BenJajaRaj 12h ago

I fucking love this bike

1

u/LackedMushroom0 12h ago

Lol. This is the picture I uploaded a while ago, got some attention and was then removed due to copyright reasons

1

u/Whalex84 11h ago

I will not be buying gta6 for the online mode

1

u/CydonianMaverick 11h ago

I'm not concerned because I won't be playing it. I only care about single player

1

u/BrightWillingness859 11h ago

I wouldn't mind fun futuristic vehicles like the opressor mk1. But I hope they keep the mk2 away

1

u/Financial_Sir2811 11h ago

Seeing this ruined my day

1

u/Zak_PT 11h ago

guys it's the FPS drops i am worried about.... Remember GTA online on the PS3 (even PS4)? It ran at 25 FPS and even less when there Is Chaos. My biggest fear Is that once they realease GTA 6 on the ps6  they Will stop updating GTA 6 online on the PS5 because of hardware limits. I bet GTA 6 online Will run like shit on the PS5 base.

1

u/KiryuTheDark 11h ago

Sook more

1

u/Responsible_Lie_1989 11h ago

I think the approach to online for GTA 6 will be different types of lobby's. You'll have some that are more like GTA V with the annoying flying vehicles and stupid weapons but they'll also have more realistic "RP" type lobbies as well, I'm sure I read somewhere Rockstar had hired some well known community creators to help do this for GTA 6 online.

1

u/Icy_Chemist_1725 10h ago edited 10h ago

This shouldn't be. It should already be obvious as a forgone conclusion.

The real concern should be them releasing online as a separate game entirely for $50 base and $80 for the special edition with a $9.99/month subscription and 19.99 premium subscription for creators/RP/etc. Then their new currency will be some sort of crypto that is even worse than the GTA 5 money and they make you buy their shark cards, which increase the value of the crypto when shark cards are purchased or something retarded like that.

Oh did I forget the mention that the PC, PS5, Xbox, (future PS6) will all have separate online and single player games that require purchase for each system. Also the subscriptions for a ps5 and Pc game would have to be separate if you wanted to use multiple systems. How else would playstation further discourage gamers from switching systems to PC? Imagine if they also do an exclusive online release where you have to wait on PC for a year to play the online mode. =)

If they were going max greed, these are all options, many of which they have already done in some form or another.

God please no.... PTSD is coming right back!
