Budget: ~$2000 - $2500
Country: USA
Taking my Asus ROG Strix G16 to the local repair shop to see if they can fix it, but if not I'm probably gonna get a different brand.
My Asus lasted less than 2 years and I want to get something that can last much longer than that. I want to have a mid-to-high end gaming laptop, but want it to last longer and with less issues than I had with my Strix which had some thermal throttling and needed thermal paste reapplied.
I was looking between these two:
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI Gaming Laptop - 16" OLED 240Hz - Intel Core Ultra 9 - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti – 32GB – 1TB - Obsidian Black for $1899 from Best Buy before taxes and warranty.
Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 Intel (16") with RTX 5070 - 32GB - 1TB - 16" WQXGA (2560 x 1600), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, HDR 400, 100%DCI-P3, 500 nits, 240Hz, Low Blue Light for $2105 before tax and warranties from the Lenovo Website.
Again, I'm looking mainly for something that will last long term and reliable.
Any suggestions for brands or which of these that is best for longevity or will last longer are welcome! Thanks again!

I was looking at some old, high-end gaming laptops and remembered that laptops with water cooling existed, and it really made sense for them.

Hey everyone! I have a Lenovo LOQ with an i5-12450HX and RTX 2050 4GB, and I’ve been using it daily for 5+ hours for the past 15 months.
About 6 months ago, a Lenovo warranty technician came to my place to fix a touchpad/mousepad issue, and while working on the laptop, I noticed there was quite a lot of dust buildup inside. The technician also suggested that it would be a good idea to get the internals cleaned and the thermal paste replaced.
Unfortunately, I haven’t had the time to get it done yet, but now I want to make sure I maintain the laptop properly and keep it running smoothly.
Could anyone guide me on what maintenance I should request? Should I simply ask for proper internal dust cleaning + thermal paste replacement, or is there anything else I should have checked while it’s being serviced?
Also, my laptop is covered under a 3-year Lenovo Premium Warranty. Does anyone know whether Lenovo Premium Support covers routine internal dust cleaning and thermal paste replacement? And if I get it done myself or through a third-party technician, could that affect or void my warranty?
Any advice from other LOQ owners would be greatly appreciated!

Budget: (66k)
Country: (Egypt)
I play stuff that range from the slow paced like rdr2 and cyberpunk, fast paced like far cry and dying light and competitive like LoL and valorant
the question here ain't 144hz vs 165hz, I'm asking whether the horribly bad 32-43ms gray to gray pixel transition panel is compromise worth the 5060.
both are ggdr7 8gb full power

Budget: $4,000 - $5,000
Country: Australia
Use Case:
Preferred Specs: 5070 ti, 32GB RAM, non-OLED display
I would like to preface that I am not that knowledgeable in laptops and barely understand little with how laptop maintenance work. I see that thermal repasting is a common recommendation as well, however I am not sure how this would work with warranty.
I was interested in the Zephyrus G14 (2025 / 2026) 5070 ti model until I found a posts on Reddit stating specifically this model suffers from some QC issues. I also looked at the HP Omen MAX 16 (2025) edition which had a nice sale but read that this laptop has a history of leaking LM thermal paste and also suffers from overheating. Does anyone have any similar experiences with these?
I'm avoiding Lenovo brands for now as I have had a couple of issues personally and would like to stay clear.

okay so im not that big of a nerd related to hardware but I tried looking on ways to make my dgpu ONLY for gaming and igpu for display n shi. Like almost a gb of my vram is getting used by other apps I saw this in re4 too where it said I had only 5.1gb vram. How do I make my laptop ONLY use dgpu for gaming and only use its vram for it

Bought this laptop brand new for $1439.25 after tax.
gpu: 5070 Ti
vram: 12gb
cpu: Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX
storage: 1tb
ram: 16gb
tgp: 140w
So, how do you think I did? Good deal?
I plan to upgrade the ram in the future if there are any good deals but not right now
the screen is also not great... but I did a little research and it looks like I could probably replace the screen with a new one myself. I'm looking at this screen replacement but maybe I'll wait to find something cheaper. I've built my own desktop PC before, but I've never taken apart a laptop, so it makes me nervous working on something so delicate.
I think I should probably buy cooling pad too. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Budget: £1000-£1200
Country: UK
Use Case: rocket league, ea fc 27, the new Call of duty, maybe some more demanding games can’t think off of the top of my head and some editing and work
Preferred Specs: ideally 1TB SSD
Notes: ideally can’t have the word “gaming” in the laptop name

Budget: <2300 usd
Country: usa
Use Case: gaming
Preferred Specs: 5070ti 12gig, 32gig, 16”
Notes: picking between the two.
Looking for opinions Lenovo vs Acer. Is Lenovo worth the extra cost on basically the same specs?
r/GamingLaptops • u/exoduso • 21h ago
These are three I saw recommended, screen size isn’t a huge issue. IWhich is the best of the three? Should I go with a different brand of equal strength?
EDIT: I know RTX 5090 is better but is it worth the extra $1000? Do other specs make up for it

Predator Helios Neo 16S AI with the 5070ti. Didn’t know what to expect, was a sale item at Best Buy and got it for $1,899. I had been planning to buy a OneXPlayer3 handheld to upgrade from the Xbox Ally X, my only pc gaming device (I have a 3070 desktop from 2021 that my fiancé uses, but I don’t). Bought this instead and will sell the Ally if I like it.
Stunned by the difference. With DLSS 4.5 and frame gen I’m running Crimson Desert on Ultra with 200+ FPS with GPU and CPU sitting at roughly 75 Celsius. I think that’s good? Not very knowledgeable, but I know this thing looks amazing and seems to be performing well so far.
I was concerned about fan noise as I like to play in bed at night when she’s asleep, sitting on a Targus Chillmat (for now), and it’s running like this in balanced mode. I’m not sure I need performance or turbo mode at night to be happy. During the day I can push it possibly (and maybe a llama v12 under it on the table), but this is fine for me now.

In my country, no laptop exists with 12gb vram
Unless the budget is extremely (Rs 2L+)
8gb vram is cap here(Rs 1.5-2L)
Attached model is Rs. 1.6-1.7lakhs
How does it compare with the ps5/ps5 pro
Country: Indian
Budget: rs 1.5-1.8 Lakhs

Bought the Zephyrus Duo 5070ti version this past weekend. Did not go for the 5090 version as I am not Jeff Bezos.
40 yo Gamer Dad, only have time for some light gaming and mostly spends time dealing with excel spreadsheets and stuff.
Loving every moment with this setup ao far. The 2 (beautiful OLED) screens is so important forme to multitask.

Hi everyone. I currently own a Nitro 5 rtx 3070ti i7 12650h with 32gb ram on it. I know its a beast of its power and provide good fps if running cool. But as everyone know these shitboxes comes with the worst possible cooling. I have been struggling with game for a while and have been thinking of using Liquid metal thermal paste. Upon research I gave found out that it can destroy my motherboard. But the normal thermal paste doesn't seem to be effective at all. Please help me out what should I do in this situation? This is what I see even on ideal state
