Everyone keeps on saying active recall this and that.Could you actually show a video?Like a POV of it and the identification of gaps and stuff?

How do I study when I go to school and the gym? I had this problem last year when I would go to the gym right after school but then once I got home, I was super tired and wasn't able to do any of my school work or study, and I would always cram. This is worrying this year because I have a ton of hard subjects. Any kind of advice would help.

I need some advice. I really want to get back to studying, but this time I want to do it in a more organized way.
I used to study a lot before, but I stopped studying for about four months. Now, every time I try to get back into studying, I get bored really quickly and start thinking about completely different things. Sometimes I even change my goal and convince myself that I should do something else instead.
I know I want to study, but I feel like I can’t stay focused on the same goal anymore.
Has anyone been through something similar? How did you get back into studying after taking a long break?

For some reason my CC thought it’d be best to shorten a lot of classes to only 8-week variations of it and I’m one of the lucky ones who got the first rendition of the 8-week physics class. Our instructor expects us to pretty much teach ourselves everything at home online through person’s and will only use class time for a lab and to let us do the “harder” homework work problems. Note I said problems, not entire homework’s. We still are expected to complete those at home too. I have calc 2 to worry about also and I genuinely can not grasp what this stupid online course through persons is trying to teach me because no one is bothering to explain anything. I’m really lost for what to do and I took my first test today and I know I did horribly but I NEED to pass this class. Please someone help me with this.

How do students do active recall actually?I know i have to close the book and active recall it and if I get stuck i check my book and active recall again but it seems it's not working.I see students who don't close the book and stuff get top grades than me but I am doing active recall it's not working .Sometimes I can active recall while I am studying but if I want to actually active recall to check if it's my memory just after active recalling I can't or I am not doing it well? I just recall some part or I am doing it right. I am doing STEM major.

I'm a CS student, and my usual study method is curiosity oriented, I use multiple online resources, go down rabbit holes, and by the end of a session I can explain concepts to myself pretty accurately. This works great for CS topics, but not for maths, which also needs practice problems to actually internalize theorems and formulas, and I really struggle to make myself do those.

This semester's maths course is Numerical Methods and Analysis, and the exam expects me to solve a variety of numerical problems using what we've been taught. That means a lot of practice, which I HATE. I have plenty of resources available, but I can't bring myself to open them, even though they aren't that hard. It's usually just applying a theorem and solving until you get the answer, IT'S VERY TEDIOUS but doable, unlike calculus.

To say that I SUCK at maths would be an understatement. I secondguess doing 55 + 38 in my head much less solve differential equations (thankfully calculators are allowed in the exam). And I can't get myself to sit down and study, it's much lower stimulation than what I'm used to (Right now I'm binging Better Call Saul and scrolling social media/listening to songs whenever I'm not watching it)

Exam's in 5 days. Any tips so that I am able to push through the dread and actually solve problems for once?? How do y'all study for your maths exams?

I’m in my early 30s and I have an exam coming in less than a month, with about 12 modules to study and know about marine ecosystem and cetaceans.

I just realized that I‘m bad at taking notes and study in general. probably the reason I wasn’t that good at school when I was younger.

For example, my notes are just shorter version of what I read (PDF) or notes of what's being said in live lecture or videos. So, instead of memorizing, I just copy...

I tried reading, then closing the document and try to write in my own words, but I’m just bad at memorizing this way too because I just don't know how to clean up the content to really see what matter and what is just bonus or filler content.

For example, one of my modules is about the marine ecosystem. I think I know the overall aspect of what the ecosystem is, but there is also a list of about 20 species and I don’t know if it’s just for general knowledge or not. Should I know everything about those species (color, size, etc.), or just something like "X and Y are important because A".

So, I just write down everything in my notebook which doesn't really help when going back into my notes for review.

And now, the exam is coming soon and I barely remember my first few modules… I wanted to rewrite my notes in a better way, but it may be a waste of time for now.

I really don’t know how to study, take notes, and just memorize things. I should have done active recall when I was learning the content as I was reading it. Now, I have to do everything at once.

I’m trying apps to create flashcards, quizzes, summaries, etc. to help me right now.

For the future, I want to find a new way to take notes to better memorize concepts and links. For different species, maybe grouping them by similarities instead of writing all of them one by one.

Sorry if I just seem stupid to not know basic things at my age.

hi I’m a law student and I wish to attempt for CS but I don’t want the money invested in it to get wasted. So is there anyone with CS experience that can help me out?

I really need some constructive advice on how to tackle this exam. It´s a retake of pharmaceutical drug analytics and I basically wasted a month due to fatigue and procrastination. I seriously need to pass this exam to finally enter the lab for it. I know that I need to focus on understanding concepts and practicing questions, but at the moment I´m just scared and panicking, since chemistry related subjects are my weak points. I have managed exams in less time than that, but the questions on this exam tend to be unpredictable and there isn´t much explanation online or even in the material. I´m overwhelmed and constantly tired and would really appreciate some realistic input.

I studied for 45 minutes today. It might not sound like much, but after such a long break, I’m happy I started.

For now, I’m going to focus on adding a few more minutes each day instead of forcing myself to study for hours right away.

The goal is to gradually reach 6 hours of study every day.

Hi everyone I am a medical student in semester 2 (kind of freshman I guess ) anyway my exam's are on 26 September so I have like 25 days left the problem is that I am a procrastinator I mean the whole past days I wasted it and I started to panic.

And about the way I study I think it's normal like just set their and study from the material we were given I also uses notebook lm for the flash cards and the question's I tried to learn anki but as I said I am a procrastinator .

Please help me I really want good grades so what would you do if you were in my situation 🤧.
