While there are many very valid critiques of the movie (the odd mixing and cut songs being very common and understandable ones), the people being upset that it was so different from RHRN aren't realizing that TF did not set out with the same intentions for the movies. He had no intention of recreating the first movie. RHRN was very clearly a movie with a plot to move the lore forward. 2BTR is, in my opinion, supposed to be a more artistic film as a thank you to the fans.

People being upset that there wasn't lore are 1) missing the point, and 2) being upset they didn't get something that wasn't advertised. I think it was pretty clear with all the promo content that this was just a recorded concert.The first movie was marketed as being lore based and having a story. No lore was teased for this movie, so why are you feeling entitled to something you were never offered? What was teased was the behind the scenes portions and getting to see how the show actually works, which is what we got in between concert scenes.

A similar point is to be made for the people being upset about the different filming style. Because RHRN was more theatrical, it makes sense that it's shot in a more "music video" style. Again, it was a more traditional movie with the scenes with Sister and Nihil (as well as there were screens taking place after the concert). 2BTR was shot on 16 mm film, and that was a marketing point since the beginning. That really solidifies that this movie was meant to be a more creative art film.

I've also seen some people being upset at how audible the crowd is. While there are other things to say about the mixing, when you think about the film as a thank you to the fans who made Tobias' dreams come true, I think it makes perfect sense that the fans are able to be heard. They're the ones this is for, let them be heard as they're having an amazing time.

The film at its core, is exactly what was advertised and the fans had incorrect expectations that are now tainting their appreciation for what the movie actually is: a beautiful thank you gift before a well deserved break.

Anyways, I loved the movie and hope Tobias enjoys his very well deserved break. The real ones will still be here when Ghost returns

It's been a while since our last post, but Papa's been on a vacation and he went straight back to work after he came back.

We just wrapped up our acoustic live sets - it was an immense honor opening for the "2 Big to Rig" premieres in Serbian cinemas! We'll try and post some videos of it, although we don't have a lot.

Next up - a ritual in Zappa Barka in Belgrade on the 17th of September. Hope to see any of you that are in the region or those who want to stop by! It's going to be one of a kind - impossible to repeat due to many surprises, plot twists, even the duration of the whole show due to everything that will happen.

For those who don’t know Dan Murrell, he’s a YouTuber who makes videos about movie criticism and the box office. On his video about the box office this past weekend, he listed 2 Big 2 Rig as the highest grossing movie in a limited theatrical release (less than 1000 theaters) this past weekend.
