I absolutely love it and all the features. I even managed to get my banking apps working, which was a bit tricky. I never realized how hard de-Googling everything would be. Google is literally everywhere!

I installed Sandboxed Google Play and signed in with an anonymous-ish Google account (created from stock OS to bypass phone number requirement). But it seems to require age verification to download anything? Is there some way to bypass this other than e.g. tricking it with an online photo? I don't want to use Aurora if I can avoid it, since IIRC the Graphene team explicitly recommends against it, though I'll gladly be corrected on that

I plan on buying the new Motorola with GrapheneOS next year when it comes out but I think I heard it’s not due out until December? Is that correct? I currently have an iPhone XS Max but want something more secure. I was going to purchase a refurbished Pixel 8 (128 or 256) from Amazon. I don’t currently own a PC. Do I need one to install GrapheneOS? I figure I could just go to the library and use a computer there. Any advice or anything else I need to consider/know?

I currently have Bluetooth and WiFi to disconnect after 30s of no connectivity with Dev options and was wondering if the same could be done for microphone and camera? Essentially blocking access if an app doesn't use camera or mic within specified time frame.

My WiFi stopped working after using "End Session"

I used it and since then WiFi hasn't worked on any profile. I already disabled the VPN and turned off always on VPN.

I also reset WiFi using the reset options, but nothing changed. My mobile network is working perfectly.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

I recently talked with a Verizon sales rep, and he said to his knowledge they don't hardware lock the phones, but he doesn't really know, so he could be wrong. But don't Verizon phones come locked at the silicon level so that they cannot be unlocked in software for the purpose of installing a custom ROM?

Has anyone recently tried signing up for google play store anonymously? I want to report my difficulties in doing so:

I began on the owner profile by installing orbot and setting it to always on vpn. I then installed all necessary apps for play store to work including other app stores as my owner profile is strictly for downloading applications anonymously.

I then opened play store while connected to a public wifi network and created a new account using information from fakenamegen. Play store requires you in this case to verify with a phone number which I thought would be easy with an SMS code by using an SMS receiving company. I set a service up beforehand for receiving an SMS code only to find that google only gives you a prompt to verify your number from your sim/esim.

Since I did not want this, I moved to a laptop also running tor to create a play account on there. Once I got to the phone number verification step, it simply gives you a QR code to scan. I used a safe QR scanning app to verify what it links to, and it gives instructions to send a specific text with a code to a number. Not wanting to use my personal number, I went and purchased a tracfone to complete this. I went through the sign up process once again, scanned the QR code, and quickly manually entered the text code and sent the message from the new phone. I say quickly because my first attempt at doing this it said it timed out only after about a minute. Finally after all of this, I successfully created an anonymous play account on the owner profile.

One primary issue is region locked apps that I can only very rarely get to download if I mess with my end point, but it does not seem any of the USA endpoints ever work even after closing the play store and removing cache. For this case I have created another profile solely for these apps with my actual google account.

I don't follow this subreddit and I apologize if this constitutes poor form here, but I had an idea I think in light of recent controversies would be wise.

What if there was a setting introduced where biometrics were used to trigger a device wipe?

It's my understanding that contrary to other fourth amendment protections, law enforcement can utilize your biometric unlocks as a means of accessing your data without your consent; this could close the loophole they abuse in doing so.

I've been using Pixel phones since the Pixel 7, (I've had two Pixel 9a's and the regular Pixel 7), and unfortunately had the same issue with all of them: terrible battery life, usually around 4 hours of SOT

Right now I have two options

Pixel 8 Pro- like new for €300

Pixel 10a- like new, charged only once, for €350

Which one would you personally choose, considering battery life, overall experience, and longevity?

i have had issues for a few weeks with the auto play function when using youtube music with firefox. after a song ends. the next song plays for a few seconds before it pauses automatically. i have the same issue with firefox and ironfox. i have enabled auto play media in the browser settings for youtube music. i have enabled the browser to run on the background. i wonder if there's a graphene setting that is preventing the next song playing. any of you have the same setup?

Anyone else been having issues with Aurora Store lately? I use Graphene on a Pixel 8 not signed into a Google account. Here and there I've had issues where I can't upgrade apps or install anything new getting a "Server busy" error. The last few times this happened required a device restart which is great but I'm also not restarting my device every single time I want to install or upgrade apps.

F-droid and the Graphene app store aren't experiencing these issues which tells me it's not my device that's the problem. Anyone else?

It'll be my first time using Graphene OS. I was originally planning on buying the Pixel 11 Pro, but that isn't happening now.

Have I made the right choice? I know the Motorola phone is planned soon, but I'll just buy that when it releases.

Writing this down here so maybe it helps someone in the future:

I was able to patch reddit 2026.12.0 using revanced, however the login will fail unless you block Play Integrity API usage by tapping the notification.

That's it really, but I spent enough time figuring it out that I thought it could be useful to someone else.

Major issue that's keeping me away from GrapheneOS is revolut. 😅 any similar alternatives?

Suggesting switching from IOS to graphene due to security reasons. I heard banking apps might not work, which is a great issue in Asia where we mostly pay by scanning qr via bank app. Maybe anyone has a phone running graphene who can confirm Bangkok Bank running? Without a banking app phone is a brick for me xD

Question to all, where do you guys install Google play services from the GoS App Store? And why so?

Background: I avoided installing it but a few apps flagged that they needed those services to work. So I installed it. I saw that it created a ‘advertising ID’ which I promptly deleted. But still mulling whether i should keep it in owner profile or delete and install those in a new one along with any apps that need it.

Ps: I installed all play apps from Aurora store.

I want to get the Helio strap but I am a graphene OS user and I want to have it offline and/or running with no account connected for privacy.

Has anyone made it run with Gadgetbridge?

How well is it supported?

What other ways would there be for me to do this?
