I hope future updates allow me to add to this, i tried all sorts to create sails, even using the water catchers (looked okay but abit too much visual clutter) also wish there was something thinner to use for the masts. Anyway enjoy some screenshots i got of the boat.

G1 | Discussion Real Question: Is there already a separate G1 thread and if not can there BE one?

Post image

Just got introduced to G1 through PS+ Monthly titles. Love the game , but what BRAND NEW to me is ZOLD news to many Reddit users. Even thought I bought the new one on release day, I refuse to play it before completing the first one. Getting way too many spoilers (about the new one) here, so does anyone know if there’s a thread dedicated primarily to G1? These are clearly two very different games from each other and seem to deserve totally independent threads.

G2 | Discussion Finding all the dead Ominent employees scattered around the map is honestly one of my favourite things in G2.

I love finding them in all the hidden nooks and crannies. There was one hidden in a pipe that I genuinely would have never found if it weren’t for me being someone who loves to explore every inch of open world games.

I do however wish each employee, or at least more of them, had little lore notes with them on how they died or what their last moments were.

G2 | Discussion The Toe Bitter Leviathan boss fight is literally imposible Spoiler

First of all:
Why do i get Tang underwater when the game has clearly established that it gets washed away by water. Also how in Gods name do Whoozy clouds exist UNDERWATER.
Secondly:
It seems that even the slightest tiny mistake leads to an unstopable and unblockable series of hits that tanks my full health to 0 within 1-2 seconds. Such a mistake is easy to make given the Whoozy, Tang, not being able to dodge while slowly floating down to the ground after a jump and the fucking little goons it spawns constantly.

All of this on Mild, i have no idea how people can beat it on Medium or Whoa!, let alone how it will be on NG+ if it ever comes to G2.
Furthermore, since this is definitely not the last boss, it brings into question how absolutely bat shit cattywampus insane will any future boss fights be.

And i know i'll get told it's a skill issue but this is Grounded, a mostly "chill" game, not "you-need-80-attempts-at-a-boss-fight-to-learn-how-to-survive-faze-1-of-8-Elder-Scrolls" which is a problem that i've been noticing throughout the whole game.

Anyway, any tips on how to get through this absolutely abhorrent fight?

EDIT: Turns out that the fight is so badly designed that you can just avoid it all together since the Toe Bitter has got such a small detection radius but obviously you need to kill him to get the Tier 4 OmniAxe

PS: I also love how the Stranger and Sloane build up the horrors you'll find in the monitoring station and it just ends up as nothing. Unless the horrors are the fucking Leviathan then...

Sadly gonna have to wait for the 2nd game since on PS4. So going for platinum...Grow big Again👀👀. Heard it gets harder, can't wait to test it.

The orc stink bug, Major Diesel or the orc scorpion Captain Nitro. Why are they named? Do they have a chance to drop some special trinket or bug part?

G1 | Discussion Burnt out on palworld. Looking into the grounded games

I’m finally feeling burnt out on palworld and have heard such great things about the grounded games but I have a few questions.

  1. How similar are these games to palworld?

  2. Is it necessary to play the first game before playing the second? Would you recommend one over the other? I know 2 is still not fully released.

  3. Palworld is really the only “survival” game I have played. Is grounded pretty easy to get the hang of and follow?

Thank you all in advance

G2 | Discussion Tips to improve box shaped builds/bases?

I struggle with unique shapes for bases that aren't inherently box-like. I see these amazing builds on social media and I cant comprehend how they seem to flawlessly and easily create base shapes that are sophisticated and complex.

Is it as simple as just creating random outlines and seeing if they turn out?

G2 | Discussion Does anyone else feel like a badass when you craft a new weapon or armor set?

I DO! I just crafted some new praying mantis armor (the whole set) as well as some wooly whoppers and I am ready to go explore this new area of the yard!

Question: Do you guys (and gals) just feel like a badass when you finally craft that full armor set or cool weapon that you are excited for to finally give you that edge?

G2 | Suggestion Suggestion: Parasitized Caterpillars and Braconid Wasps

Thumbnail

Just wanted to gauge interest in something that I think would be cool to have in the game!

IRL Braconidae are a clade of wasps which parasitize various insect larval forms, and are well known for doing this to caterpillars. They inject their eggs inside the caterpillar along with modified viruses which alter the caterpillar's behavior- typically to make the caterpillar more defensive of the wasp's brood. When the eggs hatch, the wasp larvae eat the caterpillar from the inside out and then cocoon themselves to it, to emerge as wasps later on.

In game, we already have passive caterpillars! I'm imagining that parasitized caterpillars could play out in one of two ways, either 1) they look like normal caterpillars but when you attack them they fight back, and when you kill them a few wasp grubs pop out of the corpse which also attack you. Or 2) they have visible cocoons on them which you can harvest like the spider eggs, which spawn wasp grubs when you do. Either way, I think it would be fun for the wasp grubs to have a chance to summon an adult Braconid wasp for defense. I feel like this would effectively make them difficult "mini-bosses" which you would have to summon by specifically hunting infected caterpillars.

As far as drops go, I think the wasps themselves would drop tier IV/V wasp parts, which could make a comparable tiered ranger armor set and/or bow. The cocoons could drop a higher tier version of the spider silk, for more elusive crafting recipes.

G2 | Discussion Is there a Zipline Limit or am I Moron

Thumbnail
gallery
34 Upvotes

Trying to build a zipline from burgles body to the top of the tree at Gnarly Park and keep getting the message “Connection blocked” expect it shouldn’t be? There are no structures even close to being in the way, the zipline hook at the tree is as close as it possibly can be and should be unobstructed as there are no branches in the way. So is there a limit I wasn’t aware of or am I doing something wrong and am currently unaware of it?

G2 | Base Build Good base location?.

Post image

Honestly I wasn't 100% thinking of the resources and time I just made it up on the green house yesterday and realized I can build on it and said to myself "You know what would be really cool? What if I made a base on top of here?" So I kinda just started making it and about 20 minutes into it I realized this will take forever to due, especially considering I have to move my chests here, but I'm kinda too into it to stop now, at the very least it's a good vantage point, and I have easy access to the areas surrounding the greenhouse so I guess that's a W?, either way what y'all think?.

She somehow got stuck up there right at the end of Phase Two. She couldn't/wouldn't attack from her location and couldn't/wouldn't free herself. Killed using the Sour Staff, now permanently stuck up there.

G2 | Discussion Important Bug Parts

Upvotes

I’ve been out trying to upgrade my omnitools and a handful of other items Specifically I’ve been fighting for northern scorpion stingers and praying mantis claws but the last several encounters have been a waste. Plenty of chunks and other parts but not the ones I need.

My weapons and armor are not upgraded well enough to fight fairly in one go so I have a nearby respawn and jump back into the fight when I go down. My best guess is that’s the problem and I need to survive the entire encounter.

Has anyone else encountered this? Do I need to kill the bugs without dying to get the rarer parts?

G2 | Speculation Future Abyss Boss? Spoiler

This could just be cope, but does the OGGR leviathan feel a little bit like a placeholder to anyone? The 4 reasons I feel like it is 1) the buildup of robots inside the facility for some reason not leading into a big bad robot (maybe Asst. Manager 2.0), making it feel a tad bit out of place, 2) the abyss is confirmed to be getting an update on the roadmap, 3) the infused ooze being the only current way to upgrade the axe, which has never been locked behind a boss/miniboss ever, and 4) the design of the fight itself isn't great, where the first time around he's ignorable and anticlimactic to the story if you want, but extremely difficult/tedious if you do decide to fight him.

I will say arena he's in is set up to have some interesting stuff, like the bubble boosters and the high platforms, but with a reskinned buffed-up enemy we've already fought makes it feel like there is some wasted potential within this zone. I do understand it's early access and love what's being done with the game, and I don't want this to come off as complaining, but more speculation towards a more interesting and unique event in the future.
